Review summary
Black Sheep Utilities has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service.
Black Sheep have been brilliant at sorting out the question of VAT in respect of the bills for our charity and also in taking forward the possibility of fitting a smart meter.
Much easier than going through the actual provider.
Very quick response
What a breath of fresh air! Whenever I have a query or problem I never go direct to my energy supplier (British Gas Lite) I come straight to Customer Services at Black Sheep and they do all the hard work for me; they even chase the company if they don't get back within a certain time.
Also, when you call Customer Service you don't get pushed from pillar to post, the person who greets you on the telephone deals with your query - again, what a breath of fresh air.
I have been dealing with a very professional and courtesy lady called Malika Boostani and every time I contact her she is straight onto it and doesn't stop until the issue is resolved.
My work colleague was looking to swap suppliers and I did not hesitate to recommend BSU.
Well done guys, I won't be going anywhere for a long time.
I would give minus 10 stars if possible. They are rude, arrogant, pushy and condescending. They demand information re who you are, your role in the office, your level of responsibility and say they 'need' you to sign their permission form! When asked not to ring again they say they definitely will ring again. If they were the only energy broker in existence we would never use them. I find it hard to believe that there are still companies who haven't moved on from these very outdated attitudes. In the last 20 years most companies have moved to a model of customer service which involves politeness and good manners. The staff at this company have no concept of even the most basic manners and I can only assume that rudeness is part of their training.
We have been on their call list for a while and they occasionally call, but we have not had a relationship with them. Today one of their sales representatives called my personal mobile and without introducing who they were, what they wanted, or how they knew me said "can you put me through to Gabi." Given this was my personal phone (and I am not Gabi) I acted quite surprised and asked who they were and what they wanted. Her reply was to persistently ask for my name stating "I have asked you several times for your name now", as if I had called them or wanted something from them, which was utterly bizarre. I explained that unless she told me what they wanted to speak to me about, how they 'knew' me or what they wanted then I wasn't going to be disclosing my name, business name, or anyone else's phone number. At this point, she became aggressive and exceptionally patronizing. I found the whole exchange utterly bizarre but if this is their level of customer service, I suggest everyone avoids them.
Very impressed with this company, especially Jack Elvin. It's rare these days to find someone who is so ethical, friendly, but professional AND who really knows his stuff!
Will definitely use Black Sheep again when any of our commercial contracts are nearing their end dates.
Awful, pushy, arrogant sales people, demanding personal mobile numbers, demanding to speak to someone even though they was told they was out of the office several times! Awful company
They were professional throughout the process and very patient as well given that I never seemed to have the right paperwork to hand at the right time when they phoned! I want to give a particular mention to our new account manager Ryan Edwards who was brilliant throughout and on the off chance that some of the up on highs at Blacksheep read this review, I do really think you absolutely have to incorporate the line "Welcome to the flock" when landing any new acount!
I was recommended to get a quote from Black Sheep. Since contacting them, the sales tactics did not set right with me... very high pressure, argumentative, pushy... From the get go, I was uneasy about working with this company due to their pushy tactics... I don't want to be pressured, and I want my decisions respected, regardless of how the salesman feels about my decision... the last call was so antagonistic I simply ended up hanging up. Then he called back, and I literally had to tell him to F off and not call me again, just to get a bit of peace. Not a company I'd recommend. Really ticked me off.
