Terrible vehicles

Don't let them give you a silver Opel Astra at Warsaw Airport!! The actual pickup etc went very smoothly. However, when driving out of the car park I noticed the orange engine management light was on. I stopped and told the young lady who handed me the car. She said to ignore the light as it is a factory fault and the car was fine to drive. 10 minutes into the journey I was having real problems getting the car into gear and the clutch was very "sticky". I decided that I would drop my wife and 2 young daughters off at the hotel then go back to swap the car as it really wasn't performing. However, I got to traffic lights, I was in the middle of 3 lanes of traffic. The car began to shake violently. The car would not go into gear and then completely cut out. I tried the engine 3 or 4 times but when it did start I could not force it into gear. Having 2 young kids in the car they became quite scared as we were sitting ducks. We called the emergency number, got out the car and removed all our luggage and waited for help. It took almost 2 hours for the replacement car to arrive with lots of apologies. I have since sent them an email to say how upsetting the whole experience was. However, the reply didn't even contain an apology. They actually told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and they hired it out to another customer. Can you believe that??? I hope the next customer isn't in the fast lane of the motorway when it breaksdown again, they might not be so lucky!! They're playing with lives!!

Nur mit zusätzlicher Versicherung

Das Fahrzeug wurde im April über die Fluggesellschaft gebucht und mit der Kreditkarte bezahlt. Vor Ort mussten wir die Kaution hinterlegen und die Kreditkarte war nur 5 statt wie im Kleingedruckten auf der Seite 3 hingewiesen 6 Monate gültig. Alle anderen Möglichkeiten wurden abgelehnt und uns wurden 560.- Euro für eine Zusatzversicherung aufgezwungen. Nie wurde darauf hingewiesen was eher Täuschung und Geschäftsmodell ist. Man muss auch vor Ort nochmals ein Papier ausfüllen, dieses dient eher für die Provisionbeweis der abgezockten Touristen. Auf dem Zusatzvertrag der Versicherung war bereits alles vorausgefüllt, sie wussten schon das es hier was zu holen gab. Ganz miese masche von der Swiss unterstützten Carunion

Auto Union Greece (Preveza Airport)- would definitely use again. We were told to expect someone waiting with a sign on arrival - we couldn't find him for 10 mins which sent alarm bells ringing, however on calling the office they said to walk across the road and minibus would be waiting for us, which it was. This was the only negative experience we had. The transfer to their office is 1 min away. Our car was ready and waiting , we checked over and completed paperwork and all was fine. Drop off was quick and easy. They had minibus waiting to transfer us back.

Slechtste auto verhuur ooit. Huur hier nooit een auto. De autoverhuur is slecht vindbaar. Bij aankomst hebben we een uur moeten wachten omdat de capaciteit niet op het aantal huurders berekend was. De auto die we meekregen maakte een absurd klapperend geluid dat vanuit de motorruimte kwam. AutoUnion was niet bereid naar ons toe te komen om het probleem op te lossen. In plaats daarvan hebben we een halve dag opgeofferd om terug te gaan naar autoUnion. Het mankement aan het voertuig is goed te verklaren. De verhuurder maakte een testrit waarbij hij de auto zo belachelijk ruig bestuurde dat geen auto het langer dan een jaar zou overleven. Bij het afleveren van de auto was de verhuurder zeer agressief en onbeleefd. Omdat er wat vervuiling door bezoek aan lokale stranden in de auto lag nam hij €50 euro van de borg in beslag. Aan de manier waarop dit kenbaar gemaakt werd blijkt dat dit spelletje vaker gespeeld wordt en dat ze op deze manier extra inkomsten proberen te genereren.

Avoid using this car hire car company

I was charged a 25 euro out of hours fee because I collected the car at 9.15pm (plane was delayed by 30 minutes). On closer inspection of my voucher (through holiday autos), it stated that out of hours collection was included. I showed this voucher to the counter when I returned the car. The person on the desk agreed with me that the money should be refunded. He called his manager who refused to refund the money. The car was also very poor in comparison to the rest of my family that had rented cars. I would suggest paying a little more and using a more reputable company. A very disappointed customer.

This company is criminal - please do not use them

We hired a car from Autounion In Rhodes. The car itself was fine. We returned it in perfect order and it was signed off as such by a member of their staff. After we returned home they have added a £200 charge to my credit card claiming falsely that the door had been damaged. I repeat it was signed off as fine by their representative in person and they are simply stealing money from my account and refusing to give it back. They claim they called and left a message to inform me of this. There was no call and message. A completely criminal enterprise. Please find an alternative solution.

Never Rent a car here...you know you will get screwed...1 way...or the other!

i had a very unpleasant experience with this company. me and a friend of mine made a reservation to pick up the car at the airport, we drove to the airport using a quad we rented the day before with another company. arriving at the airport, we didn't exactly now where we had to be...so we went the wrong way with our quad, driving into the place where they wash the cars.....a tourist mistake i would say...!!!??? thats where the trouble started i think...i got of the bike and my friend went around the building looking for the correct entrance, in a meanwhile when he drove of...i was approached by a very friendly (NOT!!!) person with glasses that almost commanded me "nazi" style to get the hell out of there !!! EXCUSE ME????its a washing street....i really didn't get where al the fuss was about....but allright,i am in a foreign country 'so i apologised and got on my way to the entrance.at first it seemed nothing was wrong and we could get the car....but suddenly the help-desk employee went to the office....she came back....and there was no way we could get a car anymore. we really didn't get it...so the obvious question was.....WHY NOT??? the employee from that point on didn't dare to look us in the eyes anymore and mumbled something in the likes of "you drove to fast with you're quad on the property" WE DROVE 2 MPH!!!!SWEAR TO GOD!!!!! as off this day we still don't understand why we didn't get the car...it might be because we were maybe a bit to much tattood at they're likings....or maybe they just didn't have the car.if the response of auto union is the same as in my friend review....then DON't bother responding AUTOUNION.....because that is the biggest crap that i have ever heard of use being rude 2 you.....it"s more of the other way around!!!! judge for yourself after this story....but i can guarantee you....its 100% true....DON'T RENT HERE!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

dont trust this company!i had the worst experience ever 1. the driver came 20 min late to pick us up 2. they gave me a car with a broken glass (front window).It was night dark ,and he had a flash light and we were trying to find the damages.We both missed the crack on the window ,i signed , he left and when i picked up the car i saw the broken glass 3. when i brought back the car and i told them the story the most and rude woman who worked there she called me lier and she was screaming to me like i was a punk 4. i send a mail to the company with what happened,no response so i decided to call them and guess what? the same woman answered the phone, she refuse to give me any info, or to speak with me because i should be ashamed and embraced for all the lies that i did that i broke the car and that i lied. 5 . i have to pay 200€ foe something that i didn't do 6 .300€for 6 7 days+basic insurance and the gave a skoda city go 1100 cc 60 horses 3 cylinder when i book a polo VW

NEVER RENT A CAR AT AUTOUNION ZAKYNTHOS AIRPORT. WE BEHAVED TOTALLY NORMAL SO THE REACTION FROM AUTO UNION IS A LIE. NEVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE,THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER GOOD AUTORENT COMPANIES. Today me and my friend went to the airport of Zakynthos to pick up a car by Auto Union. It was booked by our travel compagnie so we already had a voucher to pick up our car. We went to the office and the lady asked for the voucher, she had an conversation with other people in the back of the office. She came back and did not give us our booked car because they didnt trust us.So if you want to be sure you will get a car don't rent by Auto Union Zakynthos.

Fup og svindelfirma

Vi lejede en bil igennem det her efter vores opfattelse svindel firma på Corfu fra 4 august til 18 august. Efter vi havde kørt en lille uge i den første bil , oplevede vi problmer med styretøjet. VI kørte til udlejeren, som mente det skyldtes batteriet, så det blev skiftet. Det viste sig ikke at være problemet, og vi fik en ny bil istedet. Da vi når vores hotel, modtager vi en sms hvori der står vi har ødelagt bilen - den er efter sigende smadret nedenunder. Det står vi fuldstændig uforstående over for, idet vi kun har brugt bien på hovedevejen fra hotel ind til Corfu by. Vi køre ind til udlejer og forklarer ham hvad vi har brugt bilen til, og det måtte skyldes noget helet andet. Han acceptere forklaringen, og vi afslutter samtalen med et håndtryk. Nu tror vi så alt er i skønneste orden, men det skal senere viser sig at være helt forkert. Da skal rejse aflevere vi ombytningsbilen hos udlejer, som gennemgå den. Her finder hun en lille bitte flap på dækket, som det påstås vi har lavet, og der kræves 180 € i erstatning, Det vil vi ikke acceptere, idet vi ikke har "skadet" dækket. Vi har en længere diskussion med udlejeren, men må til sidst under protest betale de 180 €. Da vi insistere på at der på rapporten skrives vi ikke er enig, og vi betaler under protest, bliver de stikstosset. Vi fastholder vi ikke betaler med mindre vi kan få det nedskrevet, og modvilligt accepteres dette. Da vi modtog lånebilen gik vi den igennem, men må ærlig indrømme vi ikke kørte hænderne hen over dækkene, men alene tjekkede fælgene. Udlejer påstår derfor det er vores eget problem, idet vi burde har gennegået dækken med lup. Jeg kan på ingen måde anbefale dette fup firma til nogen. De tænker penge, og hvordan de kan få fere i kassen. Hopper i alligevel på at leje en bil igennem det her svindefirma vil jeg anbefale jer at få bilen på op på lift, gennemgå den med lup , og så håbe på at de i ikke tager snyder jer også på jer. Vi ligger naturligvis inde med data på det vi nu har skrevet, og hvis udlejer mener vi bør drøfte det her nærmere, så er I naturligvis velkommen GR709072040il at kontakte os. Watch out for this company!

BEWARE! This company is a criminal organization. There is a certain system they use. Person A comes to the hotel to deliver your car and does a quick 'inspection'. Some scratches are marked on the damage report, others (which are very similar) are not. Aside from that the car was ok and served us well. However, because I was suspicious of the man I took some pictures of the other scratches, just in case. Luckily I did... For picking up the car they use person B, a lady in my case. She accused us of a scratch of the wheel trim. Luckily the picture I had taken with phone, with time indication, could prove otherwise. Although this already revealed her maffia tactics, she knelt down to accuse me of other scratches, underneath the front license plate! One could clearly see this was long term damage, not caused by one driver. She claimed the cost would be deducted from my credit card, even though I was fully insured through Sunny cars. Also, I had to pay 44 EUR for delivery and pick up of the car which was not agreed with TUI, that cooperates with Sunny Cars, that works with AVIS, Auto union... Also, pick up of the car was 8.30 whereas I could use the car until 10 o'clock. To me they are criminals. It is very sad if you have to make money by scamming people. Aside from that, Corfu is a beautiful island and the Greeks do everything to make your stay agreeable.

Visual inspection checkin. White glove rub down return.

We got our AutoUnion car in Corfu Greece. Great car but you pay for it. Checking in, they walked us very causually around the car noting a few scratches. Returning the car they literally got down on their knees and ran their hands over the entire car noting every ding, scratch, scrap and bruise. Eventually blaming us for a bump UNDER the front bumper which we didn't run our hands over during check in. They made us fill out an accident report and would "evaluate" the damage. Shame on us for not doing a more thorough inspection during check-in. Lesson learned. Be sure to white glove your car before receiving or you will end up paying for something at the end.
