Terrible vehicles

Don't let them give you a silver Opel Astra at Warsaw Airport!! The actual pickup etc went very smoothly. However, when driving out of the car park I noticed the orange engine management light was on. I stopped and told the young lady who handed me the car. She said to ignore the light as it is a factory fault and the car was fine to drive. 10 minutes into the journey I was having real problems getting the car into gear and the clutch was very "sticky". I decided that I would drop my wife and 2 young daughters off at the hotel then go back to swap the car as it really wasn't performing. However, I got to traffic lights, I was in the middle of 3 lanes of traffic. The car began to shake violently. The car would not go into gear and then completely cut out. I tried the engine 3 or 4 times but when it did start I could not force it into gear. Having 2 young kids in the car they became quite scared as we were sitting ducks. We called the emergency number, got out the car and removed all our luggage and waited for help. It took almost 2 hours for the replacement car to arrive with lots of apologies. I have since sent them an email to say how upsetting the whole experience was. However, the reply didn't even contain an apology. They actually told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and they hired it out to another customer. Can you believe that??? I hope the next customer isn't in the fast lane of the motorway when it breaksdown again, they might not be so lucky!! They're playing with lives!!

Nur mit zusätzlicher Versicherung

Das Fahrzeug wurde im April über die Fluggesellschaft gebucht und mit der Kreditkarte bezahlt. Vor Ort mussten wir die Kaution hinterlegen und die Kreditkarte war nur 5 statt wie im Kleingedruckten auf der Seite 3 hingewiesen 6 Monate gültig. Alle anderen Möglichkeiten wurden abgelehnt und uns wurden 560.- Euro für eine Zusatzversicherung aufgezwungen. Nie wurde darauf hingewiesen was eher Täuschung und Geschäftsmodell ist. Man muss auch vor Ort nochmals ein Papier ausfüllen, dieses dient eher für die Provisionbeweis der abgezockten Touristen. Auf dem Zusatzvertrag der Versicherung war bereits alles vorausgefüllt, sie wussten schon das es hier was zu holen gab. Ganz miese masche von der Swiss unterstützten Carunion

Auto Union Greece (Preveza Airport)- would definitely use again. We were told to expect someone waiting with a sign on arrival - we couldn't find him for 10 mins which sent alarm bells ringing, however on calling the office they said to walk across the road and minibus would be waiting for us, which it was. This was the only negative experience we had. The transfer to their office is 1 min away. Our car was ready and waiting , we checked over and completed paperwork and all was fine. Drop off was quick and easy. They had minibus waiting to transfer us back.

Slechtste auto verhuur ooit. Huur hier nooit een auto. De autoverhuur is slecht vindbaar. Bij aankomst hebben we een uur moeten wachten omdat de capaciteit niet op het aantal huurders berekend was. De auto die we meekregen maakte een absurd klapperend geluid dat vanuit de motorruimte kwam. AutoUnion was niet bereid naar ons toe te komen om het probleem op te lossen. In plaats daarvan hebben we een halve dag opgeofferd om terug te gaan naar autoUnion. Het mankement aan het voertuig is goed te verklaren. De verhuurder maakte een testrit waarbij hij de auto zo belachelijk ruig bestuurde dat geen auto het langer dan een jaar zou overleven. Bij het afleveren van de auto was de verhuurder zeer agressief en onbeleefd. Omdat er wat vervuiling door bezoek aan lokale stranden in de auto lag nam hij €50 euro van de borg in beslag. Aan de manier waarop dit kenbaar gemaakt werd blijkt dat dit spelletje vaker gespeeld wordt en dat ze op deze manier extra inkomsten proberen te genereren.

Fine experience!

We reserved at the end of June 2018 a class B car at AutoUnion via they web site. We were picked up by AutoUnion van at a parking about 50 meters from Arrivals at Athens International Airport. We rented the car for 10 days (all extra's, insurances etc. war included in the price) and both the pick-up and return went quick and professional. The staff was very competent and helpful. The car was fine (some small scratches etc. but these were noted at pick-up) and driving experience was fine. No damage, accidents or malfunction during our rental period so no experience with that. The excess damage blocked on the credit card was removed within two days. Overall, happy with the company, good value for money and would rent here again next time.

Beware of very basic car models

Beware of very basic car models (Fiat 500 Convertible) - after two summers of decent models, I made the mistake of not specifying *precisely* what I wanted and ended up receiving an unacceptably low quality car for the high price (€95/d) I paid : no USB port, no Bluetooth, no way to charge a mobile, no screen or display other than radio and CD. Unacceptable for a car that “dates from 2017”. They really bought the cheapest option, which was in a very dirty state inside (walls blackened and seat covers worn off)

We hadden een compacte auto peugeot 108 voldoende groot voor 3 personen en 4 koffers.De auto was via Sunnycars met volledige verzekering gehuurd op Corfu . Auto was netjes met slechts 1700 km. In/uitchecken is niet op vliegveld zelf maar in de buurt. Je wordt gehaald en gebracht naar het vliegveld een paar 100 meter rijden. Totale service is goed en we werden vriendelijk behandeld. We had a compact car peugeot 108 sufficient for 3 people and 4 suitcases. The car was rented through Sunnycars with full insurance in Corfu. Car was neat with only 1700 km. Check in / out is not at the airport itself but in the neighbourhood. You will be picked up and taken to the airport a few hundred meters away. Total service is good and we were treated kindly.

Autounion Rhodes Airport.....Excellent !!

Had Autounion bundled into our holiday offer, villa on Rhodes for a week. Thought nothing of it and then when I got the details through I checked them out online. Have to say I was worried, having read bad reviews. I am glad to say that the service was great, a quick minibus transport from the Airport to the office/lot, I would say max 5 mins away, really helpful friendly driver, took care of our luggage. Really friendly, professional and efficient person on desk, was charged for out of hours, but to get such a good service at gone midnight I really didn't care. We were off driving to our Villa in no time at all. Very happy with the service on drop off too and would highly recommend them.

Positive experience in Heraklion/Crete

Oh dear, too many negative reviews. We had no real issues, speedy procedure, pleasant staff, fair and thorough pre-delivery inspection ( mind you , I took my own pictures), good and clean car , almost new Hyundi i20, no push for extra insurance, return of the car was also painless, deducted one star, because it supposed to be full tank to full tank, but at the time of delivery it was only half full, so on return I loosed out as the thank was 3/4 full!

ITALIANO Abbiamo affittato un'auto presso AutoUnion di Rodi. Anche noi siamo caduti nella trappola della loro "ispezione veloce"... L'auto presentava numerosi graffi e bozzi, perciò l'impiegata ha svolto con noi una valutazione molto rapida, inoltre in quel momento la macchina era parcheggiata in posizione strategica accanto a un'altra vettura, rendendo meno accessibile la visuale del lato di sottoscocca danneggiato. Purtroppo, ci siamo accorti solo il giorno seguente (per puro caso) di un'incrinatura presente sotto la portiera del passeggero, sulla parte di carrozzeria più vicina allo chassis. Al momento della restituzione l'impiegata (la stessa presente durante il ritiro) ha dato un'occhiata sommaria alla carrozzeria e si è accovacciata, guarda caso, direttamente all'altezza del danno, come se già sapesse cos'avrebbe trovato... Chiaramente l'incrinatura è stata addebitata a noi clienti trattenendo la somma di €300 (versati come deposito in contanti al momento del ritiro) e comunicandoci che, successivamente alla loro valutazione del danno, saremo nuovamente contattati. Mea culpa... Avremmo dovuto prestare maggiore attenzione e scattare foto dell'auto al momento del ritiro! Questo comportamento non solo è vergognoso e non professionale, ma si può tranquillamente chiamare truffa, dato che è un modus operandi ricorrente che emerge dalle valutazioni di diversi altri clienti. State attenti, ragazzi... ENGLISH We rented a car at AutoUnion in Rhodes. Just like other clients, we have fallen into the trap of their "quick inspection"... The car had already numerous scratches and bumps, so the employee took a very quick check with us, also during the procedure the car was parked in a strategic position next to another car, making the view of the damaged underbody side less accessible. Unfortunately, we realized just the next day (by pure chance) a crack under the back seat passenger door, in the body car part closer to the chassis. When returning the car, the employee (the same present during pickup) gave a brief look at the body car and crouched, coincidentally, directly at the height of the damage, as if she already knew what she would find... Clearly, the crack has been charged to us by retaining the amount of € 300 (paid as cash deposit at the time of withdrawal) and telling us that, after their assessment of the damage, we will be contacted again. Mea culpa... We should have paid more attention and took pictures of the car before/during pickup! This behavior is not only shameful and unprofessional, but it can easily be called scam, since it is a recurring "modus operandi" that emerges from the evaluations of several other clients. Be careful, guys...

I definitely do not recommend

I have landed in Athens airport on evening July 23rd – a day when tragic fires took place. It was already dark and the place I supposed to stay was in the fire area so no accommodation for the family at all. In this circumstances I didn’t check the car properly, but why should I bother when the “Full Damage Waiver“ option was purchased? On car return it suddenly occurs that car do have damage underneath and I suppose to cover the repair cost as such breakage type is excluded from the “Full Damage Waiver “ option. There was no one interested in talking to me and listen to my reasons as I haven’t damaged anything and do not fill responsible at all. I was also not given with any information about available options, further process nor consequences. I was pushed to sign the documents with only information that “Supervisor will check the case”. When landed home 3 hours later my credit card was already charged with additional 150 Eur. To be perfectly clear – I do not mind to pay for every damage done by myself, but feel extremely unfair by being pushed for paying for something I haven’t done. And the whole system in autoUnion seems to be constructed in the way that do not give you any option to defend yourself – you are only there to pay the bill.

super excellent service and car.

We rented a car from Athens branch , everything, the booking process and customer service were super excellent. I asked to get the car earlier and then I asked for delivery to the hotel. The car was brand new, clean, I got an diesel car instead of gasoline (saved us a lot of money), the representative was polite and explained everything, left me without any unresolved questions, the process of return was quick, short and very comfortable, including a shuttle to the airport, all polite - inhaled.
