Poor customer service

I purchased a dishwasher from the store in Fairview Heights, I’ll for a home I use as a rental. It was not installed properly and a slow leak damaged my entire kitchen flooring. The company was terrible to work with. I never got it resolved as I spent months trying to find the responsible party.

I visited American Freight on 11/2 looking for a new bedroom set. Anna helped me find a nice set and worked out a good price for me. She was very helpful. I will go back if I ever need any additional items. Anna did a great job at helping me

Excellent experience.

We recently ordered a Monogram refrigerator from American Freight. Our experience was excellent. Initially, Daniel called us the next day (Sunday) to inform us that the refrigerator weighed 600 lbs. and the store didn't have anyone who could deliver it. However, he was able to help us arrange for a third party delivery company. Daniel coordinated the delivery and the team showed up on time and did a great job. The refrigerator was missing its manual, but we were able to download an internet copy. The refrigerator matched the pictures and description offered by American Freight. It has a few minor dings on the door, but this was reflected in the price reduction. The refrigerator is quiet and is keeping our food cold. I consider this purchase to be a great value for the price.

Please do not buy the "Guaranteed…

Please do not buy the "Guaranteed Protection Plan" that the sales person "Kyle" will brain wash you into taking, and it is very expensive. I purchased Whirlpool washer and dryer, and whirlpool offers one year warranty free with purchase, and then at the end of the year, you can buy the extended warranty from them at a much lower price. I will never buy from American Freight again. It was a terrible, terrible experience. AND, they never answer their phones after they have made the sale. You will be left in limbo. I had to dispute the charge for the protection service. Kyle ignored my introduction to cancel the protection, and I spent much time getting it done. Think twice before you spend your money at American Freight.

DO not take the financing from this…

DO not take the financing from this company. Absolutely horrible customer service and poor handling of the payoff. They want you to default and do everything in their power to make it happen. The worst service ever!

Fort Lauderdale.....this review is not…

Fort Lauderdale.....this review is not about the store itself but the finance company. I purchased $2,000 worth of furniture they gave me 190 days to pay same as cash. I am not complaining about them charging finance charges but the amount. These people charged a lil over $5,000 dollars alone for finance charges. I no longer have the furniture due to it being damaged in the flood ( natural disaster) that the insurance I paid extra for doesn't cover. Do not finance your furniture here pay cash their finance company is predators.

Absolute scam artists

Absolute scam artists. Sold us washing machine with "superficial" ding in it. After delivery it was making horrible noises. LG came out four time to repair it. The last guy out showed how the bottom, underneath was broken. The only that could happen was being dropped. Since all sales are final nothing we can do.

The worst experience

#1 This has been the worst experience in my life shopping for a couch with these people. NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, tried to screw me out of money, delivery people yell & argue with you. Manager at store is absolute nightmare. I will add more later. #2 Omg ! Now they act if though they did ME a favor going to Columbus to pick up a second couch they should have known from the first one they delivered would not fit. Perhaps they need better communication with their delivery people and as a store unit all together. Communication with the customer was a complete nightmare ! They had me keep coming back to the store 3-4 times just to intimidate more money outta me. The last time I went 2 workers verbally attacked me til I was so shook up I couldn’t even speak. I ended up getting a real ugly navy blue couch that they had in stock at the store, just to get this miserable experience over with. They lied about waiving the delivery fee, my couch has a huge scratch mark from the delivery people taking it off the truck and sliding across the concrete parking lot. Why did I not say anything ? I was tired of being beat up from these people - the whole group. Now I’m left with a couch I hate because of not wanting to deal with them anymore. Another thing, the sales guy also told me to take down my review with intimation after 2 of them argued me out to dry. Sorry American freight, people need to know what their up against, also I’m an American citizen and I WILL REVIEW A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. That’s my right, THANK YOU ! #3 so I called the number they gave me to straighten things out - what a waste of my time. The lady on the phone knew nothing about my situation with this whole issue, you would think they would. There is no talking to a store regional manager as they claim. YOU CAN CALL ME ! I’m done with this whole headache & ripped up couch with no one that truly wants to get on the phone to straighten things out. Again horrible customer service. If you don’t believe me, please search the internet for all reviews on this place ( pissedoffconsumer.com) search: American freight furniture. Google only puts up good reviews, search deeper. You will find there is soooo many reviews that are similar to mine. Aggressive, intimidating cons, period ! North Olmsted, Ohio

American Freight scams its customers

I purchased a dish washer. I spent the better part of a day installing it and trying to get it to work without success. So I took it back, and was told that because I had not purchased the warrantee (almost $160) they would not refund my money. I could purchase another item with another insurance policy. I decided that I would not lose any more money. The company (American Freight) is a scammer. I bought a machine that did not work, and could not return it without spending a lot of money. There was no guarantee that a second machine would work. I won't darken the door of this company again for anything.

So I bought furniture and was told it was $80 for Delivery hmm unbeknownst it was also $50 for them to assemble the furniture. You guys need to let people know that there are 2 fees one for delivery and one for set up. I was not told that and was not aware of that. I hate surprises especially when it come to my money and that's not professional to do that to people. DON'T JUST SELL FURNITURE..LET PEOPLE KNOW EVERYTHING SO THAT THEY'LL WANT TO SHOP WITH YOU AGAIN.

BAD FOR BUSINESS

My issue isn't with the store too much. Went in and purchase a sofa set, when the product arrived to my home, it was damaged by being dropped, however, i wasn't made aware until I came home and unwrapped the product. The sofa wasn't able to be used. I went into the store and purchased another couch, and had to open another lease ( should've run then, cause who can't adjust a lease to reflect a new purchase) however they were supposed to deliver the new one a week later, the driver calls out sick so it's 2 weeks now with a damaged couch. Now mind you in the process of having a damaged sofa set, I am still paying for the new sofa which at the time I hadn't received, and also the damaged sofa. I call to cancel the lease of the damaged sofa, I'm told I have to call the store, I contact the store, they supposedly canceled the lease. I call the finance company they tell me I have to wait for the money to settle on their end. I made the 50.00 payment and 2 additional payments all of which settled with my bank but not on their end. Weird and bad business, but it's okay cause they have about another day before I block due to fraud and they won't be able to withdraw non of the payments and I'll have a whole sectional. I've called that company 5 times, I believe they don't want to do my refund when i received a damaged product. I work in this industry so I know how a customer experience show be the company's main focus, and this is trash all the way around. D Holmes

Shameful Service Operation

This is a store customers should flee from, their services at the watchung store is horrible, after their delivery man refuses to pick up their broken refrigerator I was asked to bring it my self to the store on dropping it at the door step of their door they insisted I have to bring it inside and in the process I had a big cut on my finger with blood all over me they saw it and it was at this time one of their associates helped out taking it from the inner door. I did the refund in their store and found out that my credit account with their finance company is yet to be updated, this activity took place on Saturday today is Wednesday 08/11/2021 and no response till now. I called on Monday and the associate gave me the figures and that it would be updated that day. This finance company American first finance, I have sent over 4 emails and not one has been replied, the services of these companies are despicable and very shameful.

I always shop here through the years always had friendly workers my most friendly worker is Chelsea she smiles meet you when you come in.help you find what you need explain things where you can understand thanks... I talked to a very rude person today 8/9/2021Kyle who was very rude and mean and hung up in my face because I didn't understand my layaway I was trying to ask questions and he cut me off told me to deal with Chelsea when she come back. i ask to speak to a manager he said he was a manager I hope not! I'm sorry Chelsea wasn't there tonight because American freight lost a good customer I will never support someone who have rude customer service.....

Customer Service Delivery Porous

The goods were not fully supplied and the refrigerator was broken when the delivery man just left we called him back to pick it he said he was already at another customers place, I called the store to report it and was told he will pick it up on Thursday when he brings the remaining goods, he came on Thursday and refused to pick the refrigerator and I called the office they spoke with him and he still refused saying I reported him on Tuesday. I had to tell him to go with the chairs if he is not picking the refrigerator and he left, I have since made a report to the store and their customer care.

They are trying to charge us 3500 for a…

Update: We received a copy of the “contract” filled with signatures that very clearly don't belong to my husband. Yes a Lawyer has been called. No I will no longer speak to their “customer service” agents. Buyers Beware. They are trying to charge us 3500 for a $800 couch. According to the contract that we were never given we signed up for this. Obviously this is not true. We will not be paying them another dime. Absolutely the worst company on the planet. They will 100% screw you.

Hung up on by Customer Service when requesting a refund

Absolutely awful customer service that makes the deals you offer obsolete when you realize what a nightmare the actual buying experience is. I walked into the Bridgeville, PA store and requested a stackable washer/dryer. We were shown a GE set by the salesman and decided to move forward with the purchase, paying for full delivery and installation. As soon as the delivery team arrived, they were frustrated to learn that the washer and dryer were being taken to the second floor. I apologized and said that no one ever asked for details about where this was being installed. They were very friendly and said, "this happens all the time" when people from the store don't communicate the right details to their team. While this was frustrating, what made the experience even worse was when they were shown the laundry room, they told us that they can't install a stackable unit because they aren't trained to do so. Why wasn't this communicated to us by the salesperson when we requested and purchased a STACKABLE unit? The only thing they mentioned was the need for a power cord and dryer hose, both of which were on hand and ready for install. We were again told by the delivery team that this too happens often. If this is a consistent experience, WHY wouldn't you get ahead of this issue and ensure the proper communication to your customers? When I called the store and requested to speak with customer support, I was transferred to Danielle, who from the beginning was extremely rude and dismissive. When asking for a refund, she insisted that the refund for the washer/dryer would be processed when the inventory returned to the store and that the $80 delivery and installation fee would not be refunded. Despite insisting that the delivery and installation didn't happen and that no one at the store ever indicated the installation couldn't happen for a stackable washer/dryer, she said I could "call corporate to complain" and then hung up on me. When I tried to call her back from multiple numbers, my call was ignored. So I called from another number which was promptly answered on the second ring and met with similar behavior from Danielle. I am appalled at how this place handles its customers and will not only NEVER purchase from you again, but will share this story on every outlet available until it's rectified and our full order is refunded.
