Be very careful with this company

Be very careful with this company, wanted to check when my MOT was due, somehow managed to get onto this site. I now find that they are taking £7.95 a month out of my account. This is definitely scam country.

If I could give them ZERO stars..!

If I could give them ZERO stars - I would! I'm another deceived person to add to the queue of people here. We clicked on what we thought was a link to tax a car and then got this sh*t! Very deceitful way of marketing themselves as a government website for car tax. Got charged £7.95 for some BS subscription. They would not budge and stated their system is very clearly....very clearly meant to deceive more like! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Be very carefull if using this website…

Be very carefull if using this web site.I checked out the history of one vehicle 16 months ago at a charge of 50p. Since then it appears that I have been charged 7.95 per month for something I have never used and have no idea how I apparently signed up to it. I have now phoned the helpline and explained the situation. The operator was very polite but all she could refund was 4 months of payments. Hopefully this will be processed as I have payed nearly 130 into something that I have never used. The message is beware as I'm sure I am not the first that has been caught out.

Like other reviewers I logged in to do…

Like other reviewers I logged in to do an MOT check. Thought it was a government site. A month later I noticed that I had been debited a subscription that I didn't sign up for. Could not log into the site with any of my emails to check what was going on. Cancelled my bank card as a precaution. Beware!!!! Use the government site instead.

I was completely unaware of the scam…

I was completely unaware of the scam until I saw a £7.50 popping up on my statement . I thought I used the website advised on the DVLA letter I received and these guys found a way to pop up whenever you search for the road tax payment . I had to cancel my credit card .

Unknowingly signed up for payments

I received a vehicle tax reminder letter and searched the government website they advised to pay which i thought I had done correctly. 24 hours later I have charges for 0.50 and 7.95 from a company called Vehicle Information. I can see from past reviews that others have somehow been tricked into this as well. Currently contacting my bank to report this and chase my money back. Update 14/08/24: I emailed Vehicle Information advising them of the situation. They have refunded the £7.95 and advised they cancelled the account but apparently the £0.50 is nonrefundable. They also asked for a screenshot of the description of the charge on my bank statement for improvements to their service (which they won't be getting as this sounds even more shady). Online there are multiple reviews from people who have had this same issue. It appears that if you do an Internet search for the Web address on your vehicle tax reminder letter without typing it exactly as shown, their site is one of the sponsored links that appears (therefore often the first search result). The title also says "Gov UK Vehicle Tax Online" which is why people are having these issues. I will chalk this up to experience and warn others to be careful as I imagine I won't be the last person to fall for this.
