Review summary
VOXI Mobile has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and great value, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Can't believe a simple process of getting started with a SIM could be made so difficult. The initial information with the SIM indicated that once it was in the phone and registered it would take 24 hours to activate. After 24 hours it hadn't so contacted them through the Chatbot and was advised it takes up to 48 hours. It activated after 54 hours, other SIM's I have used take an hour at most.
Not liking the service I decided to cancel, another process that is not straight forward. If you cancel then the contract is not cancelled until you use your STAC with another provider. I wasn't going to use the STAC. You can't remove your payment card from your account unless you contact them. I ended up pausing my contract and will let it time out over the 6 months timing out period. Everything about Voxi is designed to make it difficult for the customer.
I'm shocked at reading all the negative reviews. Been with Voxi for a good few years now after deciding to avoid expensive contracts and to buy my phones outright.
I've had no issues at all with Voxi and only had to speak to them when I first moved to them, which must have been over 4 years ago.
You get great sim only deals and they are essentially Vodafone, so you're getting a great network as well. You can also keep an eye on the website, and if a new plan comes along that offers more, usually always at the same price you're already paying, you simply purchase a new plan, which I've literally just done.
I would take the negative views as a pinch of salt. Voxi are fine and I was happy with customer service when I did speak to them, but that was many years ago. The fact I don't need to call customer service shows I've had no issues.
Voxi – Surprisingly Excellent Value with Solid Performance
’ve been using Voxi for a while now and honestly, it’s been a genuinely great experience all round.
The 5G speeds are fast and reliable, especially in London — no lag, no buffering, no dropped signals, just seamless connectivity whether I’m on the tube platform or walking through central. Even when I travel around the UK, coverage holds up really well. For a low-cost network, it punches way above its weight.
Sure, it’d be great if EU roaming was included, but even then, paying £10 for 60GB of data is an absolute no-brainer. The value you get is hard to beat, especially with unlimited social media usage on top.
It just works. No fuss, no hidden charges, no nonsense. Voxi might be low-cost, but it doesn’t feel budget — and that’s rare.
Highly recommended.
Awful customer service and plan.
Customer service used to be good but now it's bey poor with lots of copy and paste answers where they don't actually read the issues you are having. They also don't have a contact number to ring on so you HAVE to deal with the poor customer service online.
Also I got a plan with 60gb and they are telling me I have ran out of data even though this isn't true when looking at my usage. When I tried to raise this with CS they wouldn't address this.
Also the "perks" (in quotation marks as they are hardly perks) are very poor compared to other providers.
Also the free social data seems like a con - quite from CS when I said social data was being included in my overall usage - "for you to enjoy unlimited social media data whilst using WhatsApp means you should have normal data for it to work and that depletes your data.". So basically saying that using WhatsApp (which is meant to be free data), will in fact actually deplete it.
This is the SIXTH time I have been in touch to try and resolve a returns issue. I contacted yourselves on FRIDAY morning to organise a return, and get a dpd returns label, so I can drop it off at the dpd drop off shop. Was told to wait 24-48 hours for a label, I didnt recieve one within that time frame so I live chatted on MONDAY and the advisor told me it was working days, so tuesday MORNING at the LATEST would be when the label would appear.
It is now tuesday evening, and I have had no label, and been on this live chat 4 times today, and no one has ANY IDEA what is happening, all advisors have been USELESS so far, PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
I NEED A RETURNS LABEL FOR MY ORDER AS ITS BEING RETURNED, I HAVE ALREADY GAVE ALL INFORMATION REGARDING THE RETURN, I JUST NEED A LABEL.
So far you guys have given me the WORST customer service I have ever recieved.
Everyone if you are thinking about ordering from these guys, AVOID THEM. As soon as the phone is delivered they will not help you at all!!
EDIT - As you can see from the reply from voxi below, they want me to message them on Facebook or X, I don’t have any social media so what am I meant to do? This is an another clear failure in the customer service from this company. Seriously avoid.
Voxi wouldn’t except my log in details so I contacted the webchat as I urgently needed to add a 15 day pass for my teenage daughter. They kept messing me around telling me they were working on it then said to try again in 3 days time. Total unacceptable to leave a teenager without her phone while abroad on holiday. I wouldn’t recommend Voxi at the moment.
Not able to download the app from playstore, not able to login to their site to cancel ,because their passkey doesn't work, waste of money and time. Try giff gaff instead, in my opinion
I’ve had so many issues since my plan started in November and I’ve been dismissed 3 previous times, this time the customer assistant refused to listen to me / tried to just dismiss me until I asked for the manager, and then there was magically an instant solution. Abysmal network and even worse customer service.
I bought a phone from Argos with a VOXI SIM advertising one month free. I went through the signup process, and put in my voucher code which it accepted. When I got to the end, I noticed that the address on my PayPal payment page had not formatted correctly. The Voxi address database put in an extra number in the address that is not there and I was concerned this could cause issues further down the line, so I aborted without completing.
I went through the process again inputting the address manually, but this time the voucher code did not work saying it had already been used.
On the first online chat, after explaining the issue, an attempt was made to sell me a 24 month Vodafone contract! No attempt to resolve the issue, apart from suggesting I go to Argos to see if they can give me a new code. The second person, this time on Facebook chat got me to clear my browser history and try again, and this didn't work, and again they said they can't resolve and referred me to Argos.
It is not Argos's problem as it is Voxi's system that has incorrect address formats and registers a voucher code as used if the account was not set up.
With no way to resolve this apart from suggesting I make what will be a 12 mile round trip to Argos on the off chance that they might be able to help, I hate to think what their customer service is like for existing customers.
This should be an easy issue to resolve, but Voxi make no attempt to help and pass the buck. I find this quite ludicrous, and clearly they do not want my custom, so I will now steer clear of Voxi and Vodafone.
Update - VOXI attempted to resolve the issue by offering a free month in line with the voucher, but then the SIM would not activate, they said it would be sorted out in 24-72 hours and it wasn't. So I have given up on Voxi and Vodafone, and I am maintaining the one star rating.
