Concerns about gross overcharging, quality of work and denial of responsibility.

I have a number of concerns about the recent repair carried out by ........ and would like to give you the opportunity to clarify the whole issue to me before I consider how I shall take it further: 1) The total cost of £873.60 seems excessive for a simple freeview aerial replacement even by your own website estimates 2) .......’s way of explaining the costs is deceptive as he says 52 when he means 520 and 27 when he quoted for the Special Heights (meaning 270). 3) ........ initially informed me that my three floor property was within the normal range (we had some discussion about what three floors meant exactly) hence a further surprise that Special Heights cover was required – but then again 27 didn’t seem too bad! 4) I was not happy with him running up the sloping tiled roof at the very top of the house leading up to the flat bit – it does not comply with your own risk assessment (box ticked on the Invoice) and there is potential for significant damage to my roof tiles. There will be an update to you if any damage is detected when I get around to inspecting the roof myself. He also had to do this twice as he initially reconnected up the old cable (which actually turned out to be the source of the problem – damp). 5) The replacement aerial was simply bolted to the existing pole without removing the old aerial. 6) The old cable was left behind – and in places actually used to support the new cable. 7) The cabling down the front of the house looks amateurish and would have passed in front of one of the rainwater pipes if I had not insisted on it being moved behind. All in all a pretty mediocre and slightly worrying repair job as you will appreciate – at a high cost to me. (Following this visit I went up onto the roof myself and discovered two freshly cracked roof tiles.) The above email resulted in the same technician (!) coming back to assess his own work and a subsequent denial that he could have been responsible for the damage. The company has completely denied any responsibility. So all in all a very poor and expensive show - avoid at all costs.

Quoted 250 to hang a TV on the wall at my son's flat as said it not straightforward. 10 minutes layer and the job was done plus VAT. Not value for money and would not recommend using this company

Well I never spoke to gentlemen earlier said all wanted was a man to screw a ring doorbell camera to my door he like yeh we cheap and we been doing this for over 20 years guy comes out and quotes 95pound!!! To screw a fu*k camera to the door I am shocked doesn’t take a mim to do this as I set the camera up my self all I wanted was it to be put on the door avoid not reasonable prices at all

Abysmal customer service and warranty dodging.…

Aerial bracket was repaired last year after the bracket came away from the wall in windy conditions. The same bracket had come detached again. Having called the company back we were told it is another chargeable repair as it was only a temporary repair. This was not what we were told at the time for a repair that cost over £100 including new parts. The repair was clearly not done properly and so should be covered under warranty. Will never use again and would not recommend to anyone else.

Removed my old Sky dish etc so quickly and without any issues at all. I thought the cost was very reasonable. Tom the engineer was absolutely brilliant and so thoughtful and helpful. I would definately recommend them.

Read google reviews before booking this…

Read google reviews before booking this company. The engineer LAWRENCE said that the signal in this area is not good enough so he helped us to install the external aerial. However, it was told that accordng to the Housing Associations information we supposed not to install the external aerial. Therefore, we told this company and requested for de-intallation during the cooling period. They said that this is not their responsibilty so we need to pay £114 additionally for de-installation. Of course, I didn't pay them to remove it. Instead of, I paid for another aerial company to remove it and they have good knowledge that this aera should not install the external aerial. TV Aerial/Aerial Force/Speedy Aerials (they are a group of company) are not a honest and professional company so please AVOID!!!!

Be very very careful when using this…

Be very very careful when using this company as when I phoned up they said to fix my satellite dish it would be £79.99 labour plus parts. I was then told that when the guy got up on the roof I needed a new LNB which was I was told was £99.99 which not knowing how much one was that that was the price of them. I then was told by sky that they are only £23 and I then looked on Amazon and you can get them for £6.98. I then questioned this with the office and they said to call the fitter. He got very angry and said it was only £20 plus £79.99 to fit it??? So basically had to pay £79.99 twice even though it only took him 3 mins to fit the LNB! Not that happy and feel a bit sad that this extra hidden cost was never mentioned to me. I would recommend getting a full break down during the first contact with the office.

Overpriced

They charged us 846 pounds for a job that other companies do it for less than 400 quid. They took advantage of the fact that I wasn't home to discuss the price and my wife didn't know what the cost should have been. The engineer was professional though...

Outrageous service

Completely outrageous and unprofessional they started a job and they didn’t finished and cost me nearly £500 . Had to get someone else to finish it when I ve trying to get them back they wanted to charge me more it’s a ripoff very disappointed

Never used them unless you want to pay for problems

Asked them to fix pixelation on Freeview which they said they could find out why and fix, no problem. By the time they left, I had a new aerial amplifier which they charged £250.00 to fit, I lost SKY in two rooms, Freeview in one room and lost both CCTV cameras from everywhere. All in all a very unpleasant experience that cost me over £500.00. Will never use them ever again, even to fix the problems they created.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Having problems with tv picture which was breaking up and losing signal.Called in TV Aerial Company and was advised I had a poor signal and they fitted a signal booster. Which did give me a better picture. However a few days later on taking a closer look at my aerial I could see that the cable from the aerial had broken which was the real reason for the poor signal. They charged me a £69 plus vat for the visit plus £230 plus vat for the signal booster. (They are about £35 on Amazon). So I had paid £370 including VAT for a bodged job which was unlikely to last. They also quoted me £815 including VAT for fitting a new aerial and that was just on the side of the house not even on the Chimney. I subsequently had a new arial fitted by some one on "Checkatrade" who did a great job fitted it to the Chimney and took the old one down for £345. My reason for one star is they should have visually checked the aerial and they are massively overpriced.

It was a difficult access dish and a…

It was a difficult access dish and a local company had already said they would not be able to access the dish to repair it Quoted £450 for a new dish. The TV Aerial company engineer arrived called John. After weighing it up he said, would I rather fit a new dish or repair the old one at half the cost. I said repair it if you can. 35 mins after arriving, job done inc the payment. Johns attitude was exemplary. Brilliant.

Think twice

My 100 year old Father got a new tv and just wanted sky tuned in and tv set up , also the same for his dvd, £144 . The engineer got " CALLED AWAY " half way through . The dvd hadn't been connected " Don't worry I'll be back" . Next day he arrived fixed the dvd and charged ANOTHER £114 for extra call out . Surely he could have wired up the dvd the same day whatever the reason for leaving ? My Father is a vunerable pensioner so was he taken advantage of ? Who knows? Looking at other reviews probably . How are they allowed to do this ? Also customer service rude . I would like to add that since my review , their Head Office has refunded half the second call out fee .

Got a quote for 2 cctv cameras as the one that had been up had stopped working, the engineer said that the cctv we taken down was absolutely rubbish which in fact isn’t true, the camera we took down worked 10 times better and the picture quality was excellent. The engineer was adamant the ones that were going to be installed were top of the range and the best on the market but the picture quality is abysmal and makes it looks like the cars parked out on the street look like they are parked miles away from our house but the pictures he showed us on his phone looked excellent and nothing like what we currently have…so we agreed to the quote of £888.88 inc VAT. So the job was booked in for the next day. The same engineer turned up and informed my partner that he could only install the trunking as the cctv cameras had not arrived and they were out of stock….my partner and myself were not happy about this and contacted the office and asked for a discount due to having to wait an extra day and the office said to speak to the engineer and the engineer said that he was practically doing this job at cost! Which was funny as the cameras he was installing were £49 each so £98 plus the trucking at £70 at the really outside £168 plus labour at £150 so total is £318 they are making £570.88 profit which nobody minds but when you search the cameras they are only £49 each off the camera makers website and as they are buying in bulk they will be cheaper! We have had to have the engineer out 3 times as the second camera stopped working the 1st night and the engineer came out with the line that due to the dew point they can mist up, yet the other camera never did that and guess what the same camera has stopped working again. So fed up with this I have requested in writing that I want the cameras removed and refund as the cameras are that bad you can’t tell what cars are when they go past. They have yet to reply to me or my partner so I will be chasing this up as we are still in our 14 day cooling off period. If you want decent quality cctv camera’s I’d either buy one off eBay and install yourself or use any other company than this one. The customer service is shocking and I have a feeling that I will have to go down the legal route. Wish us luck and please avoid this company if you value your sanity.

Unreliable Company

Came out very quick and supplied a quote. Told to purchase some stuff myself. Got a call few hours later from the office, offering a discount. Booked the job, the engineer who did the quote turned up, but couldn't go ahead with the job because he had the wrong trunking. Rebooted appointment didn't turn up, so called him said it's another engineer doing the job and will call the office and call me back. Never did, so I called the office and rebooked the appointment. Did not turn up on time for the third appointment. The office called over 1 hour passed the appointment saying they can get an engineer round soon. By this time I find another Company who could do the work for £100.00 less. Unreliable, unprofessional and rip off.

Not fair to rip off the elderly

Very helpful person who fixed the problem quickly. Unacceptably high price which unfortunately my father agreed to pay for. Over £1000 for an hours work and inexpensice materials. Suspect their customer base is elderly people who are not aware there are much better deals

An excellent service which I can highly recommend.

Lee came to our home in Nottingham to find out why one of our TVs had stopped working. He checked all of the internal connections and found a faulty cable which he replaced for us. He showed us everything he was doing and he explained all of the possible charges to us and then recommended the most economic remedy. He worked in a clean and tidy manner and did not even stop for the heavy rain! This was an excellent service and I can highly recommend it.
