Sehr schlecht
Obwohl ich mein Talkpalkonto gelöscht habe, haben sie trotzdem den Betrag für das Premium-Abo abgebucht. Jetzt habe ich für das Premium-Abo bezahlt, das ich nicht nutzen kann. Ich war nur auf der Website registriert und hatte keine App. Auf der Website steht, dass das Löschen des Kontos automatisch das Abo beendet. Dies ist jedoch nicht der Fall. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich eine Antwort vom Kundenservice bekommen werde. Allerdings werde ich meine Debitkarte blockieren.

The conversation capability is quite…
The conversation capability is quite good. The AI teacher is somewhat capable of making a connection to various segments you've been discussing, to keep the train of thought going. The interaction might seem a bit silly at times, but if you lead the conversation and ignore some segments, you can definitely make continuous progress in your learning.

A fun and effective way to learn
I've been using Talkpal for a few months and it's definitely helped me recover my German vocabulary which I neglected a while after completing A Level German. I'm finding photo mode really helpful for learning concrete nouns and adjectives and the character dialogues are an engaging way to practise conversation skills.

The pricing is at best erroneous and at worst is unethical
I was offered a 50% discount on pricing based on the plan I selected. The pricing was really opaque and you can't see which credit card is attached directly on the platform, and I thought this was weird, so I snapped a screenshot of the price they said they would charge when my trial period expired, just in case. And I'm glad I did. Because when my trial period expired, they tried to take double what they said they would charge me. I contacted customer service about this and they took 3 days to get back to me, in the meantime, they tried twice more to take double the agreed upon price from my bank as well. This is incompetent at best, and unethical at worst. It's a real shame, because I like the App the itself and I would have actually paid the original price for it without the discount, but this just leaves a really bitter taste in my mouth. I'm actually still going to pay for TalkPal Premium, it's a good App, but I wanted to post this to let new subscribers know that they should take a screenshot as proof of the agreed upon charge and then check their bank statements, ready to dispute with Talkpal.ai if they tried to overcharge you. It's a real shame, the App itself is pretty good.
