Just had a viewing today of a flat with Poppy. She was very lovely and helpful. She answered all our questions and was very open and honest about any faults in the property which was greatly appreciated. Itβs been really easy getting in touch with the staff at Smart Estate and they are all very nice and professional.
Right from my househunting this summer to finding a property, and now to living in one, Smart has been a good partner. Of course, I did come across other agents while viewing houses, but Poppy really set herself apart with her warmth, empathy, intelligence, promptness, and helpfulness. Together with Kay, the two make for great estate agents!
Couldnt be happier. From 1st phone call it felt like these guys ment bussiness. I was well impressed and sold on using Smart within the 1st 20mins of meeting Lisa. She explained how they go about things and it just sounded a more modern and ruthless way of doing things which I didnt get after meeting other agents. Less than 24 hours after agreeing to go with Smart my property was online. I had an unseen offer in under a week and then acepted an offer the next day after the first day of viewings. Amelia was my contact as soon as my house went live and right up to completion. I was impressed with the way she would contantly chase things, gave fantastic feedback and the regular updates. Always polite and extremely determined.
I tried selling the same house 2 years Prior with a different estate agent and they failed. This time I used Smart and had sale agreed within 7 days. That speaks for its self.

We have been renting with Smart since 2020 in 2 different properties.
Overall the experience has been brilliant. Thereβs been a couple of occasions where things get forgotten about or we have had to send a follow up once or twice but things seem to have improved a lot since the pandemic which lets face it was a difficult time for everyone.
It does feel like over the last few months there has been a conscious effort to step up customer service and it really has been a five star experience lately.
Repairs are generally sorted out quickly, especially urgent ones, and in terms of property inspections they have been extremely accommodating my partners odd working hours when arranging these. At our first property the landlord at times was reluctant to meet his obligations and Smart applied pressure to get things done, luckily where we are now the maintenance provided by the landlord / Smart is fantastic.
Everyone I have spoken to, met or emailed has been extremely polite and friendly, even when Iβve been my usual grumpy self!
A special shout out to Amelia, Sophie, Emily and Josh who we have had a few dealings with. All of you are a credit to your team and have eased an awful lot of stress for me!
We have had to argue, chase and repeat ourselves throughout the first month of our tenancy with Smart Exeter, just to get a working boiler during winter. The thermostat still does not work so we canβt regulate our heating and have had to move out. Smart does not take this seriously - the financial, practical, mental and physical impact on me and my young family they just act for the landlady. It is a real shame.
Viewed a property that was a bit shabby and needed cleaning as tenants were already there. It was in an area I liked so I was interested but only on the basis that it would be spruced up, Smart assured me it would be. I trusted them as there was still six weeks until move in so plenty of time. Had a second viewing after the tenants moved out and Smart directly pointed out that the previous tenants hadn't cleaned properly and they might keep some of the deposit. Don't worry it will be sorted out.
Unfortunately, went to pick up my keys today and, besides, painting the walls, nothing was done. Found a crisp packet behind the washing machine, skirting boards hadn't been cleaned or painted, banister on the stairs was filthy, bathroom wasn't regrouted when this was promised. Smart kept apologising and would ask the landlord, sorry they hadn't actually checked whether the landlord had completed the things he had promised to complete. However, the general tone was one of 'well we will ask but we can't promise anything'. What is the point to an agreement if the other person doesn't keep up their end of the bargain?
It had been sharers in the house before and I was sold that they wanted a family who would look after it and the landlord would make it right for a family....That didn't happen.
breezy experience with this agency: was contacted right away after enquiring online, agent was already at the house at the time of viewing (unlike most house viewings), and quick arrangement of contract. kudos to agent jack!
