I have just had a horrendous experience with simply conveyancing. I started the process of the sale of my flat in May and it has only just completed at the end of November. It took them 3 months to start working on my files and apply for my flat management pack, which should have been applied for as soon as they were hired. I originally chose to use simply conveyancing as I liked the sound of everything being on an app. However, it is not. You have to use a desktop to complete the majority of the paperwork which was very inconvenient for me. I also used the app to message them and was never responded to. The app is utterly pointless. During the process, my files were passed between a number of solicitors which made it really difficult when trying to contact them. Don’t expect them to pick up the phone unless you call them a few times and don’t expect them to respond to emails within a few days. By the end of my sale, the top of my chain was ready to drop out due to the incompetency of simply conveyancing. I was having to call my solicitor on a daily basis and give very clear instructions on how to do his job. There was no common sense to follow up emails with phone calls when there was no response from my buyers solicitor or management company even though I had stressed the urgency of the situation. I was having to call my management company to chase up enquiries. As the customer, I should not have had to tell him what to do or had to chase things up myself. They made what should have been an exciting time stressful and like a full time job for me.

Jess and Kate were very professional and on the case at all times. They let us know what was going on, what we needed to do, what we were waiting for.. their online tracker is amazing and is always up to date. Cannot fault this company.. I would use them again. They are a lovely team and always obliging.
Amazing friendly team, helpful at each step. Really useful app thats shows what task are required and what has been completed. So you know exactly where you are in the process. My solicitor was always contactable, providing all the information and answered all queries quickly.

I have recently used SC for two processes; A sale of my house with an ex-partner Purchase of a house myself. Costs were clear and set out at the beginning. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and would happily be a return customer in the future. I worked with Sean & Bayley for my two separate processes and both were amazing to work with. I particularly liked the online portal where I could see the current status in seconds. The ability to send a message to the relevant person through those portals was also very helpful instead of having to search through emails for addresses. Everyone I spoke with at SC were incredibly helpful and very polite. Customer service and communications were top notch. Thank you to the whole team.

Most of the staff I spoke to were helpful and approachable. Unfortunately, I had a few issues with my first allocated solicitor but the service greatly improved when my case was transferred to another solicitor who was very informative, helpful and friendly (thanks Laura Carlin, you’re a star!).

Unfortunately, I've had many of the same negative experiences with Simply Conveyancing as others have mentioned here. What should have been a relatively simple purchase of a property has extended to almost a year of pointless back and forth with still no end in sight! I've had the same problem with Lawyers being assigned to my case then disappearing to go on 'Annual Leave' or just leaving the company outright. I'm on my 5th one right now. And as I'm dealing with someone different every couple of months the new lawyers are not as familiar with my case so I keep having to answer the same questions over and over which just wastes time. And replies to queries tend to take weeks to arrive as others have noted. I noticed a few people say that they added all kinds of extra charges to the bill which weren't discussed previously. Well I can now confirm this also, which is what prompted me to leave this review. At the beginning of the process I was informed I would have to pay the higher Stamp Duty Land Tax for my purchase. I agreed to this, and about 10 months later another lawyer is saying the same thing and added an additional £1000 to the bill! I asked them to check this as it had already been resolved and received no reply. All I see is charges going up and no progress being made. The Estate Agent lead me to believe that since this is the same company being used by the seller that this would speed up the process. On the contrary, it seems that this has lead to a lack of urgency getting the case completed. If anyone is considering using this company I would urge you to steer clear for the aforementioned reasons, and I will not be using them again myself.
