First river cruise
First river cruise, staff, food were fantastic - everything was pretty much amazing . my only criticism is that the rooms were very hot, even with windows open in winter - this was a common complaint with most people.

I had an absolutely incredible trip to Antarctica - not cheap but was worth it!
We have travelled with Scenic to Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand including a Mekong river cruise. The quality of the holidays is first rate, but since 2020 and the changes in office practices, the process of booking and level of errors made by the booking personnel has become a challenge, with the attention to detail somewhat lacking. This has not stopped us booking trips for 2025 and 2026 but be vigilant when checking your booking confirmations. Perhaps it's time to reopen the Manchester office and introduce improved supervision.
We did the Danube itinerary, and the Scenic team looked after us from start to finish. The trip created memories me and my wife will never forget. The booking process was seamless, the ship was magnificent and extremely well maintained. The cabin was excellent and the staff onboard were top class and worked hard to make the experience a special luxury trip for all onboard. I particularly liked how attentive our housekeeper Rudy was- always making sure our room was clean and in tip top condition. The fact that everything was inclusive (tips also already factored in), meant that you can just enjoy the experience, the food, drink and excursions hassle-free. The atmosphere onboard is warm, pleasant and friendly, and there was always something going on. The crew did a great job with entertainment, excursions and logistics. Best ships and staff in the game. We can't wait to book our next one!
Paige was extremely helpful and gave us a few options to consider for our Danube cruise She also sorted out good time flights for us to fly from our local airport via Amsterdam
The service and customer relations were exceptional and worth the expense of a Scenic expedition. The inclusive pre-paid experience also resulted in creating a stress free experience.
Everything was well organised on the ship and outside events. Bedroom was lovely, staff helpful and friendly. All in all a lovely holiday in spite of the dull weather

Scenic is a good product but when it goes wrong there are too many hurdles to go through to get a satisfactory response. A fabulous cruise around Svalbard caused us to book Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic. However this cruise got off to a bad start. Just as we were leaving the departure lounge to board our plane for Copenhagen we received an email to say that the ship had developed a technical problem which may impact on the Cruise. We were also given the option to cancel but the tenor of the letter suggested that there would be minimal disruption to the itinerary. We eventually arrived in Greenland and had a wonderful time visiting the various ports of call. However, the Cruise just fell apart after Greenland The ship was experiencing more difficulty than Scenic were prepared to admit and secondly the Canadian authorities refused the ship to enter polar waters as it had only one Azipod working. The hastily revised itinerary was made visiting the Canadian Maritime provinces whilst a a desperate search for a dry dock was made by Scenic in order for the Azipod to be replaced. Instead of sailing directly to Halifax, the ship took a very slow route via the provinces to kill time whilst a dry dock was being searched out. In the meantime, disquiet was rumbling through the passengers as the new itinerary evolved. The expedition Cruise turned out to be a sightseeing cruise which in itself was not too bad, but it was not what the passengers had paid for. Many passengers had emails sent from the ship to the company to express their feelings and to demand proper compensation. Scenic response was a derisory €1800 in compensation and a discount on a future Cruise. However if one had received some discounts then this was taken into consideration as well which meant that some passengers receive less than what was offered! One must give credit to the on board staff who kept a lid on passenger anger. The ships crew could not be faulted in any way and I sense they were being let down by Scenic’s uncaring response to the situation other than get the ship to a dry dock as soon as possible. On the day of departure, an email was read out to all passengers suggesting that Scenic would, on passengers return home ,contact all passengers to discuss possible compensation; this never happened. Overall we lost 2/3 of our intended itinerary and one would’ve thought that Scenic would have recognised this and suggested an appropriate compensation package. Providing an alternative itinerary was not what the passengers wanted as they had paid a large amount of money to visit the Canadian Arctic. I read later that scenic had offered 70% of a refund to passengers on a New Zealand cruise when difficulties arose. I’ve also discovered that Scenic faced a class action because of their poor response to a European River cruise which they lost. Unfortunately, Sceiv is all about luxury and six star cruising without a six star back up with its customer service and management teams. There are other expedition cruises with Silversea or Hurtigruten and before I book another cruise with Scenic I shall explore the other cruise lines first. The ship is beautiful to look at but unfortunately that is where it ends. For example the forward observation lounge is badly placed as there are obstructions to the forward view! The observation lounge becomes a reading room because that’s all it is fit for. Some of the cabins have designer sinks which look nice but are useless as a functioning sink. the wash area before you enter the restaurant has an overhang where you can easily bash your head. The ship inside is gloomy in places and it is difficult to read some of the signage. When the Cruise goes well it is an exhilarating experience BUT when things go wrong……! You pays your money and make your choice. .Caveat emptor!
Been on our 5th Scenic cruise. We weren’t experienced cruisers on our first one, but it was so good ( including car to transport us between airport and home, both out and return) that we keep using. Onboard everything is inclusive. Staff always brilliant. Food and drinks ( incl alcoholic) great. Fellow cruisers friendly. Will return again!
The usual very efficient service, excellent reception at Schipol airport, Amsterdam, and an entertaining taxi diver. Got to the boat earlier than the previous cruises, more excellent service on arrival and check in. The meals were all of the highest standard, excellent wine pairing, excellent service. Cabin maintenance was the best yet, all the room crew greeted us with a smile every time we met. Excursions were very good, despite the weather, the classical evening was also very good. The only minor issue that was mentioned between a few clients was the difficulty in getting out of the very comfortable seating in the lounge, mainly by the more senior clients. We sat on the stools by the coffee station because of this. Disembarkation was as efficient as our arrival, all in all an exemplary cruise, on board entertainment was top class, we would highly recommend this cruise line, ( our fourth)
The quality of the Scenic personnel made the trip the lead representative always had a warm greeting with all guests. The staff on the boat were also warm and courteous. An excellent trip.
Scenic set the standard and maintain the standard for river cruises. The staff and facilities are excellent and nothing is too much to meet your needs. To find a fault would only be to improve audio equipment for tours.
As usual Scenic supply wonderful service and customer care. Every member of staff could not do enough to satisfy our every wish.

We had an amazing holiday, something we have come to expect with Scenic. All the arrangements were seamless, the ship immaculate, the tours planned so that we saw everything without stress and the guides brought the history to life. Scenic excel at comfort and their staff always seem to know what we want before we realize it, they are fantastic, friendly and so helpful. The food was varied and beautifully presented, all dietary requirements and preferences were catered, nothing was a problem. We were made to feel special from the time we arrived until we reached the airport for our flight home. We are now busy planning our next cruise, it’s difficult to chose, so it won’t be the last!
First rate ship. Cabin excellent. Staff really good. Unfortunately both the food and wine were disappointing in quality. Think Scenic are trying to recoup covid losses by cost cutting with centrally controlled menus (not left to onboard chefs and local cuisine) and less expensive centrally dictated wine choices (for example, Hungary produces good wines. Wine choice in Hungary - australian red I could get in Mt local supermarket for less than £10 - hardy a premium selection). So 5 star in part but not overall. Disappointing compared to previous Scenic cruises.
As to be expected the quality of service was top of the range. Even though the river conditions made the itinerary had to be changed this was achieved without any problems, and they even gave us a small refund for the inconvenience. This was our 7th trip with Scenic and that must sy a lot.
