Sakura Mobile is very easy to set up via eSIM which is what I went for. We travelled a fair amount in Japan and I had good coverage everywhere we went. The price was fair (equivalent to about £25 per week for unlimited use). I wasn’t sure how to set up the eSIM at first so I emailed Sakura Mobile help center. They replied within an hour and walked me through the IOS recommended settings. 10/10. Will use again and would highly recommend.

All the processes was easy eve that i had an issue with the data not working because I did something wrong in the process, i contacted them through email and they were super fast and helpful and helped me to fix the issue, thanks for the amazing team and i highly recommend it

Acceptable e-Sim card performance. Some areas signal strengths were weak and many times it operated on 4G which was too slow but overall it's OK. Not impressive but not to the point of unacceptable.
Initially the internet was very slow, due to some issues with ethe settings. Via email they checked my setting and gave tips to resolve the problem. So in case of an issue, reach out to them at once. After, the internet worked excellent.
Just follow the easy instructions provided by Sakura Mobile when you arrive in Japan and all will be well👍 I used the airport free wifi to access my QR code on arrival and easily installed my e-sim, from there it was a simple matter of enabling it for mobile data. I traveled all around Tokyo and Kyoto using Sakura for data with no issues and good access speeds for internet and messaging.....excellent value 😀

Setup for both esim and physical sim cards was easy and the staff with Sakura mobile at the Kansai airport were very helpful with setting us up.
