Review summary
Ryder & Dutton Estate Agents is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication.
Laura and Leanne were both professional and friendly with any interaction we had. Although we had some issues with the sale of our property it was more to do with the solicitors than the estate agent and Laura did all she could to keep us informed of what was happening.
Ryder and Dutton were proactive in selling the property. From the moment we started working with them, the viewings began. We were kept informed at all stages from the entire team and they made the whole process as straightforward as possible.
We had a really good experience with Ryder and Dutton estate.
Kia has looked after us in the best possible way, always ready to answer every question! We have managed to proceed fast with our purchase also thanks to her.
No better or worse than other estate agents in the area
Once my house sold ( it took a year) the contact from Michaela was good. Up until then, I’m afraid to say that it wasn’t. There was no communication about what we could do to improve viewings for 7 months and I had to practically beg them to do a premium property listing on rightmove
Sadly, Ryder and Dutton are no better or worse than the other estate agents in our area
Naveen - friendly, polite and an asset to Ryder & Dutton Rochdale
I would just to thank Naveen at the Rochdale branch for her time and trouble and taking full ownership during the sales process.
Naveen is polite, friendly with excellent interpersonal skills
Highly recommended
I recently sold a house with Ryder and Dutton and the level of support, advice and communication was so impressive. Nicole O'Brien and Jenny Boyle updated me every step of the way. They were very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and I knew they were working in my best interest. I can't recommend Ryder and Dutton enough they made the sale much easier for me.
Thanks so much
Dealing with professional people with excellent customer services. Always kept up to date with the process. Ryder and Dutton have been around forever - my mum and dad used them - they are a trustworthy Company who never fail their customers. Long may they reign. And A BIG thank you to Paul
We would like to thank Geraldine Marsden for dealing with both the sale of our property & the purchase of our new home, Geraldine was extremely helpful & was able to keep us informed & up to date throughout the whole process, it was very reassuring to know that Geraldine was able to get us the answers we needed when we couldn't always contact our solicitor, she was always only a phone call away. Thankyou.
Me and my girlfriend went through Ryder and Dutton to get our first home together.
From the start until we moved into the property, we had a sense of relief as to what is a big milestone in our lives - They we’re so kind and helpful in our first ever viewings, they helped to understand and guide us through the process etc. as well as leaving us some lovely warming gifts when we first moved!
We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience. All thanks to the excellent service provided to us by Lucy and the rest of the team at Ryder and Dutton.
If I could give Ryder & Dutton zero stars, I would. My experience with them has been an absolute disaster from start to finish. They are unprofessional, careless, and only interested in taking your money—once they’ve got that, you’re completely on your own.
When I first saw the house, it was advertised as “ready to move in.” Moving quickly was a priority for me, and I made that clear from the start. But after completing everything on my side, I was left waiting because the developer didn’t have their documents ready. Did Ryder & Dutton care? Not one bit. Instead, they asked me to pay a £2,000 deposit for carpets directly to the developer’s bank—this was never mentioned in any of the advertising. When I questioned it, the agent, Ammaarah, admitted this was her first new build and she “didn’t know what she was doing.” Seriously?
The lack of professionalism didn’t end there. I was promised multiple times that a senior manager would call me back. Guess what? No one ever called. Their complaints procedure is non-existent—it’s just empty promises and complete radio silence.
When I finally moved in, things only got worse. The house was advertised as having “full fibre” internet, but after moving in, I discovered it only has a copper connection. Another blatant lie. And do they care about resolving any issues after you’ve moved in? Of course not. It’s still a month since ive moved in and I’m still not able to purchase broadband! Trust me when I say they’re done with you once they’ve got their commission.
Their carelessness caused me financial loss too. After they removed the “For Sale” sign, they left screws on the ground, which punctured my car tyre. It wasn’t just the cost of the repair—it was the inconvenience and wasted time dealing with something that should never have happened in the first place.
To top it all off, their communication is atrocious. Even after my solicitor confirmed contracts were exchanged and everything was completed, Ryder & Dutton’s office claimed we hadn’t completed. How can a company this incompetent even be in business?
Ryder & Dutton have caused me nothing but stress, frustration, and unnecessary expense. They don’t care about their customers, they don’t communicate, and they certainly don’t take responsibility for their mistakes. If you’re considering using them, don’t. The proof is in the pictures below. Run as far away as you can—you’ll thank me later.
Geraldine Marsden was the move manager for our house sale and I couldn't thank her enough. What was a stressful situation due to solicitors, Geraldine managed to keep us well informed and worked closely with both sides to ensure we completed. Thanks Geraldine!
Ryder & Dutton were really supportive whilst selling my home. Jade, Michaela, Ammaarah and Oliver were particularly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to presenting my home in store/ online, viewings & the sale it’s self. The pictures of my home & the accompanying write up was to a high standard. The team were very positive & I would recommend them over other local estate agents.
