Super tour director, Sarah Keyes, whose organisational skills on our Douro cruise were excellent. The Riviera Rose ship was new and had a great team employed by the owners, Scylla. A relaxing holiday with like-minded travellers. Would choose Riviera again.

I made my booking by telephone, which was answered fairly quickly. I knew which tour I wanted to book but there were a few 'wrinkles', hence the phone rather than on-line. Clare (or Claire) who dealt with my call was knowledgeable, aware of some issues from previous bookings, and handled the whole thing professionally.

Always find Riviera to be an excellent company to use for our trips abroad.

The customer service I received from Sharon Inge was excellent. She went through every detail of solo travelling & put my mind at rest as I have not travelled solo before. She called me as arranged on time today so that I could go ahead with my booking for my trip along the River Douro.

Very easy experience booking my dream holiday. I have been checking the website regularly to see if the 2027 dates had been added. I had been advised they would go on in September. Just had a quick check on Monday and boom, there they were. Simple details, a deposit paid and one very excited happy customer.

Booking was a stress-free experience. The process was very easy. Jessica was very polite, friendly and answered all my questions. I knew which river cruise I wanted but needed to be reassured about flights and the cabins. When I asked about transfers to and from the airport Jessica informed me that they could be arranged, but was never pushy. I was also left feeling confidant that if I have any other query I only have to phone up and it will be sorted out.

Wanted to book on line but couldn’t apply ‘welcome back discount’. Riviera Travel consultant Niki J Foster was extremely helpful booking the holiday and advising on optional extras.

My friend and I went on the Lake Como Riviera Tour. Firstly we paid nearly £2400 each and our flight was with Ryanair economy airline. When we arrived our transfer should have been 1hour 20 mins but because there were 32 of us they used a large coach which meant we had to go all around the lake as some roads were restricted for large vehicles. Consequently our transfer took nearly 3 hours so we had to leave our suitcases in reception and rush into dinner without time to freshen up. The hotel was a three star ( there was no other choice) and this was reflected in the rooms which were very basic to say the least. One plug socket only was in the bathroom and not enough storage for our clothes, so most of our clothes stayed in our suitcases which wasn't great! The food at the hotel was mediocre and quite bland. We were allowed to book to go into the adjoining a la carte restaurant NO. 26. Our experience there was awful. We were sat down not even asked if we wanted a drink and then each course was rushed. My friend even had her plate taken from her whilst she was still eating! We obviously didn't return. The tours were good but the tour guide was quite condescending and kept telling us that everything was very expensive. We obviously couldn't afford anything. All in all we were very disappointed with the quality for the amount of money we paid. I sent a letter of complaint and got a bog standard reply saying how truly sorry they were and thanked me for my feedback. I would definitely not recommend this tour as it was not value for money.

After making a mess of booking online I called Riviera and spoke with Laurie. Laurie retrived the partial info I’d put into the system and breezed through the rest of the process. So nice to be wished a happy holiday by a person rather than the computer.

Booking our holiday was easy, our questions were answered in a professional and friendly manner.

We did the Venice, Split and Treasures of the North in October 2024 which was excellent. In May this year we went on Celestial Journey on the Greece, Italy and Montenegro cruise again very good. We have now just booked Dubrovnik, Split and Jewels of The Dalmatian Coast for May 2026. Sharon dealt with all our enquires and was extremely helpful, informative and professional in organising this.

Our 2nd Riviera river cruise and once again it was excellent. Well kept boat, lovely cabin kept very clean and well supplied by cleaning team. Food was excellent and the restaurant staff were always friendly and attentive. We liked that we had the option to either go on the excursions or to explore on our own, which you could do in most places. The outing on the mountain railway to the Alps was excellent, helped by the beautiful weather. However, the first part of the day was spoilt by very long traffic jams so we didn't manage to visit Lucerne as planned. Most people found this day trip too long, it would have been preferable to have done either Lucerne or the train trip, instead of attempting to cram them into one day. Overall a great holiday. However, the greeting when we arrived at the boat was a bit chaotic. Left sitting around until rooms were ready with no direction and no refreshments - a small glass of something would be nice to start a special holiday. Also, the instructions given for departures were confusing. The senior cruise staff gave conflicting information. Bearing in mind the many long term roadworks, and the long airport queues, not enough time was allowed for the transfers, we just about made boarding. Surely long term roadworks should have been factored in to timings. Having said this, we really enjoyed the holiday and will definitely book another river cruise with Riviera next year.
