The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the holidays are great.

My husband and I recently booked a holiday with Riviera travel to Lake Garda and cannot rate the experience highly enough .We stayed at the Europa Hotel in Riva del Garda.The tour guide Laura met us at Venice Airport and also on the return journey when she actually escorted the whole group into the airport. The guide for the week's holiday was Werner who was exceptional with his knowledge of the area .Nothing was too much trouble .

Having looked on line to see available river cruises I could not find the combination I needed but a call to Riviera soon got me sorted and my holiday booked with very little hassle.

All our questions were answered and very full information supplied allowing us to choose and book a holiday with confidence.

As former travellers we found the booking experience easy to navigate and comprehensive.

Friendly helpful staff member took me through the options. No chivvying, was able to get a provisional booking while I checked with family that it was ok for them.

Short wait approx 3 mins for phone to be answered. Easy to order, operator very pleasant and helpful.

Returned from our first river cruise & were so impressed with absolutely everything we have just booked another cruise for next May. Laurie helped me with my booking & was extremely helpful answering questions & finalising our booking. Its good to have a personal contact for futhur bookings Our decision was hurried along by a very generous 10% discount as returning guests valid for a short time & much appreciated.

I called Riviera to make a European river cruise booking and spoke to Laurie . Within a few hours he had arranged everything I wanted. Excellent service.

I did not find the website easy to navigate and only realised after confirming the booking that I had booked the wrong year! The help line was answered promptly, staff were friendly and efficient and my mistake was quickly rectified.

This is the first time I have used Riviera Travel and I was very impressed with their service. Very informative and helpful. I booked by phone; there was very little wait for the call to be answered and very few options to go through until taken to the very friendly operative who was able to tell me everything I needed to know. Additionally, confirmation by email was instant.

The Riviera agent was very helpful but the only problem was putting in the credit card number with the telephone pad. This may have been due to having to put in option 1 twice before reaching an agent?

On the whole our fifth cruise with riviera was good - excellent friendly crew, interesting shore trips with knowledgeable local guides, good meals, everywhere was clean, especially our cabin. However the Cruise Director failed to meet the grade we had come to expect from Riviera. Her organisational and social skills were poor, and she was aggressive, taking comments from guests as a personal criticism. The berthing in two places in particular was unsatisfactory, as we were so far from the towns for the shore trips. In one case we had to go by coach, which shortenend the time ashore, and the other was too far to walk for gentle walkers, so they missed out on the trip altogther. We had already booked two more cruises with with Riviera, and fingers crossed we won't encounter the same problems.

We travelled on this tour in early June 2025. This was our first visit to the Italian Lakes, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour was made even better by the excellent tour leader, Matt Purse. Nothing was too much trouble, he shared his first hand knowledge of living in Italy and the Italian way of life and history. All the tours included in the tour were well organised and interesting. The Bernina Express was amazing, although St Moritz was a bit of an anti climax (many shops were closed as it was between seasons). Although the hotel itself (hotel Bazzoni in Tremezzo) was disappointing (mainly due to the restaurant food and specification of rooms) the hotel location was stunning, with views across the lake. We opted for a lake view room and enjoyed watching the boats and ferries shuttling across. There is a ferry stop right outside the hotel, tickets are easy to buy. There is a small shop next to the hotel where water etc. can be purchased, and several bars and restaurants close by. Due to the mountainous location coach travel on excursion days can be long, but comfort stops are included on the route. Overall an excellent holiday, but disappointed with Riviera Travel's choice of hotel. We have stayed in 3 star hotels in Italy before that are so much better.
