Agnes was prompt to respond to my needs while being courteous, fun, and smart! My Mint Mobile agent gave me a wrong transfer PIN and Agnes took note of that and suggested that it could be the last 4 digits of my phone number which turned out to be correct. She saved the day.
This review is for support agent Marcello at Red Pocket Mobile. He did a great job of straightening out my Red Pocket account billing issue...finally. But as for my experience with Red Pocket itself, it took me several days spent alternately on hold or on chat support trying to resolve a billing issue on my account. I will not go into the level of frustration and wasted time I endured from various Red Pocket support personnel or the number of chat support and phone support personnel I had to go through before I finally got to Marcello, and he solved my problem in a fairly short amount of time. Instead, suffice it to say that if it were not for Marcello, I would no longer be a Red Pocket Mobile customer. So, Red Pocket, if I were you I would treat Marcello well as he is outstanding compared to all the other Red Pocket support personnel I spoke to, and he is greatly helping your customer retention. I don't have time to wait on hold for hours to deal with something like cell phone service. I just need your cell phone service and billing to work, or if there is a problem, I need it resolved quickly and with minimal effort. I was about a minute away from dumping Red Pocket for another provider if not for Marcello. Then Marcello did what apparently none of the other Red Pocket agents I had spoken to knew how to do, and about 15 minutes later my problem was solved. Thank you, Marcello!
Redpocket promises "UNLIMITED DATA" - small print states that once your paid for amount of data is exceeded each month, you will then experience slower speeds...though still "unlimited." Understood, and I am fine with that. For the past 20 days or so, I have experienced "NO DATA CONNECTION." When I have contacted Redpocket customer service (back and forth for past 10 days), they have refused to reinstate my data connection, and will not tell me why. Redpocket customer service is absolutely MADDENING! Unfortunately, I purchased one year service...
My first experience was trying. Told to make two separate orders for phone and phone card which I did. They took payment for the phone card from my account and on the same day email me they suspect fraudulent activities and I must send in identification photo. Which I didn't want to do because I don't want that type of information on the internet. Tried to cancel the orders for 2 days _unaccomplished. I was told different things by each customer service representative I spoke to. One never came back, the other hung up on me. So I had to release my information rather than lose money. After I received the products on the 7th I couldn't activate the SIMS card _ they had deactivated both SIM card and activation code - even though they've taken the money out of my account. Having an online chat with a customer service representative to fix the problem _ she told me my sims card had been reactivated and I could use the same activation code - that was a lie the SIMS card had not been reactivated nor the activation code. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS : today the 8th I talked to a representative name Angel, she took care of the problem for me and activated my phone _ her service was well appreciated. So when dealing with red pocket mobile beware of any twist and turns and once they've taken payment for their sims card, which they will do immediately - there is no refund, as I have learned and they will deactivate the SIM card and activation code so you can't use it ( even though you paid for it)..... And any items you turn return, shipping is on you and you probably would have to pay the extras to make sure it gets to them.
No issues with red pocket or the service
I setup the account for CDMA. Once ported in, they had me on the wrong plan and have not completed the port so my phone number is currently dead. I have been on support call which was disconnected and two chats. Each time, I have to explain the situation and each time RedPocket disconnects on their end. Now it says that all chat agents are busy so I cannot even try again. Nov 5, 2024 update: I have had many more interactions with support. I paid full price for the device in advance with the promise that my plan would be discounted by $17 per month. The plan doesn't show a discount and I have had many support requests telling me the issue is fixed. It is has not been fixed. I have not received a refund. This company is disaster. Stay away.
