Hosts beware

Hosts beware. Do not list with this rental platform. The communication, follow through, and payment processes are horrible! It has been 2 weeks since we hosted a two-day rental and no one has responded to a single email that we have sent and we have had to involve the Better Business Bureau of the polarimo County California local licensing board. Do yourself a favor and read the Better Business Bureau and all reviews that aren't published by Red awning as they are biased. Unless you feel like being constantly managing right awning more than you would have managed your own platform or property. They are simply a high price listing service that expects to get cleaners through turno and maintenance through Thumbtack and will say they are a full service platform but they are no service platform. Please do your homework and believe the things you read

Lack of professionalism and knowledge

I had a very disappointing experience with RedAwning, specifically with a representative named Scott. He was not only unhelpful, but he also demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge. Instead of trying to help or offer solutions, he was dismissive throughout the call and ultimately hung up on me before I had even finished speaking. This behavior is completely unacceptable. It has caused me to lose all trust in RedAwning.

This was my first booking experience and it was basically easy. But I had questions, especially about payment and confirmation, that I was not sure how to ask. Once I had paid in full, all was well answered and clarified.

The booking through Hotel.com was…

The booking through Hotel.com was confusing. The paintings rather than photos, no reviews means that we are shooting craps with this stay. Hopefully I will reciew the property highly when the stay is completed, but it was not a comforting start. There were too many parties involved to make the transaction simple.

Good service, poor integration with Booking.com

Good service but integration with Booking.com could be improved. I was required to write in via live chat to confirm my reservation and had to repeat much of the same information already available provided to Booking.com. It took about 30 minutes overall which is too much time in my opinion, when the details could have easily been captured using a form.

A tired property

This is a tired property with an eclectic collection of furnishing and lighting. The kitchen is small and old. I find it hard to believe what the cleaning fee is for this small and tired place (particularly when comparing it to the other four properties I have rented here over the last 2 years). Luckily, it is just me and my spouse did not come. She wouldn't be happy.

The rental unit had a great description, excellent photos, and a map of the location and the rental office nearby. It made the decision to book smooth and easy.

Would not return to this condo

The front desk was polite, but after multiple requests over 6 days time, they were utterly incapable of getting the light on the entry stairs fixed. I mentioned the safety hazard - stairs+ ice + snow + night, etc, to no avail. I get that this is sort of beyond the owner’s purview, but if it goes unmentioned, then it may never get fixed until someone falls. Beyond that, I’ve stayed at a number of other condos nearby and this one would not get a return trip. HVAC is about as loud as a garbage truck, as is the fridge - both cycle on and off all night. Yes, it is a ski rental, but still, the other condos in which I’ve stayed were not like this. If the rate better reflected the experience, perhaps it would be worthwhile, but this unit rents on par with others in the same area.
