Hire of belt sander & edger all went very smoothly. Great that sanding belts, pads & bags package was added ( unused items refunded) Deposit / refunds all returned in timescales stated.Would certainly use HSS again if need arises.

The staff I spoke to were very helpful. However, the IT and telephone systems were very poor indeed and will cause me to be cautious about using HSS again. It was difficult (impossible) to get through on the telephone until I learnt how to trick the system and the member of staff gave me her personal number. The automated hire confirmation changed the date of hire in very small letters amongst a welter of other duplicated information and with no indication that this had occurred. My website & email query re the above went unanswered.

It's not often these days you can write a good review, let alone an excellent one. I enquired about hiring a breaker tool and spoke to Dave in Gosport branch. Absolutely 100 % excellent service and so efficient

I had a problem with a piece of equipment on hire, they swapped it out no dramas and returned the deposit when the replacement equipment was returned. Good service. Fair price.

Great service. Basically next day delivery, free delivery without a minimum order amount and plywood arrived in good condition, decent quality as well considering it was the cheapest I could find anywhere.

If I could give zero stars I would! I had to move our satellite office in London, and as per the lease agreement we had to polish the floor upon leaving the office. I went onto HSS website, and entered the postcode, and it reserved a floor polisher at a branch 30 mins from the office. Great I thought! Drove 4 hours down there, to find the HSS branch closed a week ago and was met with a guy who simply said "impossible* when I told him I ordered it to collect from there, I had to show him the invoice to prove. He told me to head to Tottenham branch. I then phoned customer service, after waiting near 20 mins for someone to answer the phone, I was greeted with a guy who sounded like he was doing community service! Who simply told me that some of their branches are closing and there is nothing HE can do about that! Wtf!? I told him he needed to find me one, as have been driving now for 5+ hours, he left me on hold for another 10 mins then hung on me. Calling back, waiting another 20 mins for someone to pick up I finally got someone who understood. But as I pulled up outside the Tottenham branch, told me there wasn't one there, and the closest branch was ANOTHER 40 mins drive away. NEEDING to get the job done I agreed and set off, only to find when I got there they didn't have the floor cleaner or pad that ordered, just the actual machine itself! Absolute SH1%SHOW. Hours wasted. I escalated to a complaint, who were supposed to contact me yesterday, heard nothing! Surprise? They had my money, crap service and now simply don't care. I've used hss for training and other items in the past, although expensive they have always served a purpose. NEVER again!

Good quality topsoil. I wasn’t in when it got delivered but the driver left the pallet in a considerate location to keep driveway/garage access as clear as possible.

Ordered items, never delivered. They won’t pick up my call or respond to my email. Got a bounce back on an email stating their inbox is full

The machine didn't work and the I instructions were for a different model. I would have expected the machine to be checked before hand. So a bit of a waste of money. On the plus side they deliver and pick up on time.
