    Purchase of used Audi

    Car Upgrade

    Having recently updated one of our cars via a part exchange deal we returned to Volkswagen Exeter to seek a replacement for our second car. Again we received excellent service and a suitable upgrade was sourced to our satisfaction.

    Don't buy at a distance from their Jaguar Watford Branch

    We bought a used car at a distance from their Jaguar Watford dealership but I would advise against this unless, like us, it's the only place that has the precise model you want. They are unreliable, disorganised, uninterested and uncommunicative. If you do go ahead take voice recordings of your conversations and get what is agreed in writing. Initially, I paid a refundable fee to reserve the car on-line, where it said it would be held for 5 days but, on speaking to them, they insisted it was only 24 hours. So, next day, I tried to progress the purchase by phone but nobody would speak to me or phone me back because the rep I had spoken to before was on a day off. The rep was back next day but all he was interested in was selling their bundle of overpriced insurance extras (wheels, tyres, SMART repair etc). It was like pulling teeth to discuss the car itself or get clear details of finance options and their T's&C's. We nearly walked away, and only decided to proceed because it was Jaguar approved used, so had the manufacturer's inspection and warranty as a back up. We therefore paid a deposit to secure the car but, despite this, it remained for sale on their website for days afterwards - and they even increased the price. They then tried to charge me that increased price when I came to settle and required me to send them evidence of their own lower price in order to drop it back down! When we went to collect the car I found a hole in the upholstery of one of the seats, which had not been declared. Their initial response was it was a used car so should be expected (it was 2 years old) but, after a bit of a discussion, they agreed to pay for me to get it repaired "As a gesture of goodwill". Furthermore, they tried to hand the car over without a set of floor mats, which had been agreed as part of the purchase. They tried to deny this agreement but, luckily, I had an email to prove the opposite, so they said they would post a set on to me. The puncture repair and reinflation kit were also missing, but they were able to find a set before we took the car away. Bizarrely, after the decidedly unpleasant experience of the purchase, their service improved markedly once we had taken delivery. The missing floor mats arrived within a few days and I was fully reimbursed for the upholstery repair (even though I messed up by initially sending the wrong account number for payment). I would give the after purchase aspect of their service 4 stars but it wouldn't make me go back and buy another car from them. We have had the car for nearly 2 months now and it has been absolutely fine. It would just have been nice to enjoy the experience of purchasing it.

    LACKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE

    2 weeks overall chasing a test drive on a Used C Class at the Mercedes dealerships. Told car was 'sold' after I finally got through by phone to Llandudno dealers. then appeared for sale at Warrington dealership 2 days later. No one returned sales enquires or e mails there ...then finally told by email car was reserved again but showing as in stock and still for sale on website - lost my trust in Group 1 since they have taken over Premium car dealerships

    Very pleased with the overall experience and Rebecca - the sales exec we dealt with was excellent and very helpful Only concern after agreeing to purchase is the shed full of emails re procedures and docs to sign etc No advance warning of there and worryingly all sorts of different email hosts so there was a bit of a concern at first that these were scams Overall though we felt well looked after and will definitely go back there if and when we purchase another car

    To investigate p/ex against a used…

    To investigate p/ex against a used Mercedes GLA and view potential suitable vehicles on site or in Group1 stock. We are previous customers of the Stratford upon Avon dealership and always had excellent service. We received good p/ex offer for our car, a suitable car from the dealership stock was identified and the transaction was negotiated and completed within 6 days including setting up a Service plan and Extended Warranty plan. We were dealt with courteously and patiently by Dan and John from the Sales team and we left having picked up our new car as very happy customers.

    Used VW Golf - we recommend Group 1 VW Swindon!

    Buying a Mercedes

    The whole of the Mercedes team were very polite and professional. Nothing was too much trouble.All my questions were answered.The team were very knowledgeable and helpful . I prefer paper copies of documents which the team were only to happy to give me . Nairobi whilst new to the company went out of her way to answer my questions . She gave me an excellent driving demonstration in the car. Tom deals with the service of the car, again he was very knowledgeable and informative and had excellent customer experience. Dominic dealt with the financial side. He also was very knowledgeable and helpful. The whole team combined gave me as a customer a fantastic experience throughout the process of buying my Mercedes. I am very impressed and grateful to the team for all their hard work. I would recommend Mercedes -Benz Nottingham to anyone wishing to buy a car . Excellent service throughout.
