Sugar Shack was in a great location! Only a couple of blocks from the beach and a couple of few minutes drive from shops and restaurants. House was very clean and had everything you needed. House keeping was very responsive and the couple of minor issues were fixed within an hour after letting them know. The backyard has everything you could ask for - firepit, pool, TV, and even cornhole! All on all we love the property. Would love to stay again!
What a wonderful, clean, convenient to beach, coffee and shopping location!!!!! We loved this house and the warm pool in a quiet enclosed setting. Kitchen was stocked with all that we needed and more! We will be back!
Booking was easy and friendly. The house was clean and had the needed supplies. We had a few issues. First, the television in the family room would only stay on for 2-3 mins at a time. This was extremely frustrating. We called and someone showed up to fix it the following day. The repair man spent most of the day with us. The TV was not fixed. He came back again the following day, replaced the TV and still the tv did not work. Gathering 13 people in the master bedroom was not how we wanted to spend 2 of our evenings. Nor did we want the repair man in our house for 2 days while we had young girls walking around in their bathing suits. Finally one of the guests fixed the tv. Next issue was the fireplace wouldn’t turn on. Again we called for help. And again we had a repair man in our vacation home for days. Finally he said the owner wasn’t going to fix the fireplace. Renting a home in Florida during early March we looked for one with a fireplace because the weather can be cold. It was extremely disappointing to not have the fireplace work. We were informed we would be compensated for this, however we have yet to be contacted. Our final issue was on the day of arrival we were told that the hose at the back of the house to rinse our feet off was broken and it would be repaired that evening (Saturday). The hose was finally fixed on Thursday. Would we rent again from this company, not if they don’t follow up with the fireplace issue. Also, repairs should be quick not 4 days of having someone in your house. I had to call and send an email to the company and tell them to stop sending the repairman to our house. We wanted to enjoy our vacation with our people not share it with a stranger.
Everything from start to finish was perfect
We enjoyed our time at the Watchtower. A couple of things we noticed-the kitchen was missing oven mitts which made it difficult to cook. The appliances were very high end but we found it difficult to figure out how to use the oven and the dishwasher. Just little things that would make it a little easier next time. Thanks!
The home was lovely, but the pool had not been cleaned or serviced in quite some time. Unfortunately it took four days for someone to come out and treat/clean the pool. Needless to say our party was not happy. The spa was not working and probably has not been operational since the pool was resurfaced (according to the pool vendor). We also had a television that would not power on. This is only a big deal because management told me that the cleaning crew checks all tv's for power when turning over a unit. It just makes you wonder what else was overlooked. I was disappointed with the lack of proactiveness from Five Star as I had to initiate all calls pertaining to the pool. I spent more time on the phone then at the beach. The service was inadequate at best. Especially at the price point for the home. I'm sure the property owners would not be pleased with the level of neglect for the home.
Five Star consistently has the best property search site to accurately view where you will be staying. I have sometimes felt mislead by other sites, especially on vrbo or expedia because you are the mercy of whatever the owner submits, but the five star pictures and descriptions are accurate because they manage the properties and take the pictures. they also tell you the full price, including housekeeping and insurance, with no upcharge for VRBO. Saves a couple hundred bucks usually. They are always responsive and friendly for maintenance issues or service requests.
The house is gorgeous! Very functional and filled with everything you could need for a great escape. There are 3 washer/dryer units, fabulous outdoor spaces, even an elevator! I would have given 5 stars but the sound wasn’t working on one of the TVs, there were no dish towels or potholders, and although this is beyond anyone’s control, there is a very grumpy neighbor that is a full-time resident right across the street. That said, we would sign up to rent this same house again and again. It was terrific.
Way too many problems for a house in this price point. The house is very nice, but items pictured are not actually there (pinball machine, soaker tub) and a number of things were broken (hot tub leaked a foot a day, could never get hot, someone was to come fix but never did, some kitchen items like the can opener and faucet), outside gas lights expelling gas creating a strong gas smell outside the front door which took 2 days to fix, sliding closet door in master is missing, the list goes on and on. And make SURE you understand the limitations the pool alarm provides. You CANNOT leave any sliding glass door on the first or second floors open for more than 15 seconds or the alarm will sound. So much for enjoying the gulf breeze or the sound of the waves. I sent a repair itemization on Friday in case they needed pics, no response. Also sent an email to the VP Ops, Tyler, on Monday 4/12, no response to that either. This could be an absolutely wonderful rental, location is great, layout of the house is good; but for almost $12,000, we just should not have had all these problems. Trip Advisor shows this as 1.5 stars out of five, now I know why. If Five Star steps up to make this right in terms of a partial refund, I'll post a revision. Update, this appears as a review from a guest in our house, not me. Ann is the reviewer.

Everything about our experience with Bliss Beach and 5 Star was excellent. This was the most well-appointed rental we've ever gotten. From the small things like salt and pepper, dishwashing liquid, and toilet paper to bigger things like bikes and phone calls to check on us. It was a home run. Lots of room for our kids, strong wifi for when I had to work, and super close to everything. We would recommend this company to our friends and will call directly next time (we rented through VRBO.) Definitely use this company--very attentive and super friendly!

My overall stay with Five Star Properties was great. However there were a few minor issues that was to be expected due to the pandemic and the increase of spring breakers. Cleanliness was one of them to say the least.
The property was decorated well and all amenities were looking new and nice. However, the building itself was old. The kitchen sink was leaking and the second floor balcony ceiling was leaking whenever we take showers from the third floor. Overall, we had a nice stay.
Five Star properties and bliss beach rentals was fabulous. We had interest issues, and they had someone to our rental house within the hour, and it was on Easter.
Bliss rentals did a great job. From the initial reservation, they were easy to deal with and answered questions promptly! Highly recommend!
The survey that was sent shortly after arrival was appreciated. The elevator was not working and an outside light was broken with broken glass left on the balcony. Five star staff arrived in a timely manner to attend to our concerns. We were also able to list items that we found but were not anything that needed immediate attention. We felt this allowed us to alert staff to issues that we found upon entry to the home and could be addresses later. The house was beautiful and staff was accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
