Had a video call arranged with them that I cancelled an appointment for. I received two texts and two emails reminding ME of the appointment, then THEY never turned up for the appointment. How can you trust someone with the sale of your house when they can't show up for an appointment they arranged. They text saying they can re-arrange for Monday and I have given my availability but like the other reviews in the same situation, I don't think ill get another response.
Our house had been on the market for 9 months with local agents before we decided to try a different approach with Express Estate Agents. It was our best ever experience of an estate agent. They kept in contact with us at every step of the way with us never having to chase them up. From first contact with Chantelle, then James L keeping us informed of buyers reactions and ultimately closing the sale, then Carmine following through once we had a sale, The team were really on it. Massively impressed. Would recommend.
Was in touch with Lucy with regards to property for sale and she has been excellent in follow up and arranging the necessary bits. Like mortgage advisor, property viewing, conveyancing solicitors etc.
Charlie Stafford has been a massive help! I’m a first time buyer proceeding on my own and while the offer process was a bit nerve racking for me Charlie made me feel comfortable throughout it. He’s been very proactive from booking in my viewing to putting my offer forward. He explained exactly what I needed in order to proceed with the sale and now I’m left with my mind at ease. Fantastic service! I’m a very happy customer.
They got three sales but unfortunately they didn't make sure they could pay the mortgages or even their solicitors don't answer emails cut you off in phone calls and lie about where the situation is in effect had my house invaded by people who were coming for a day out looking at houses they can't afford with the whole family spent six months waiting constantly for answers and being let down left right and centre blaming the buyers they claim they vet before proceeding and again made me sit for months thinking I had sold lost the house I was buying so letting them down also in the process of their inapt service be wary as they said I was covered would get the price yet each sale they sold it for less basically they do nothing and lie to you over and over after selling properties my whole life worst agents I have ever had
Delivery falls short of the sales pitch.
Steer clear! Whilst the initial contact wit Sam was really good; she was very enthusiastic and felt she could get a very good price for our property and assured us all viewings would be vetted/proceedable. Things went downhill from the minute the advert went live. We had a couple of viewings – neither of which were proceedable when I raised this I was told that was my fault for accepting automated viewing requests. We were advised to bracket our property in significantly lower brackets which only served to attract buyers who could not afford the property and devalue our property. We never had a sale board erected despite this being in the contract and requesting one on multiple occasions. We had the opportunity to part exchange our property and things spiraled downwards from here – immediately our part exchange value was devalued due to the bracket we had been advertised at (minus £20k), we were told we would need to pay 1.5% fee as we were leaving the contract 2 weeks early. I agreed to keep the property until the end of the contract and managed to negotiate our part exchange on this basis. I was then offered the opportunity to ‘serve my notice in silence’ and ‘remove any viewings during this time’ which in effect removed my property from the market – showing it as available to buy but not accepting any interest, which effectively sat us in limbo for 2weeks and has delayed our part exchange for absolutely no reason. When the 2weeks were up and I asked for the property to be removed I was told the fees would still apply as we had part exchanged during the time we were under contract and the legal team would be in touch with us. Stay clear, the sales pitch is good and it looks like the higher fees are worth the ‘added value’ but in effect they aren’t and there is no added value to Express.
Still early days into the process but so far super happy with them! Works great with my fast pace and easy to communicate and get things done together.
I was advised to sell my property for less than asking price, based on the first offer from the first viewing. I have since had offers over asking price. I wasn't happy with explaining how I wanted to negotiate the price. I was left many voicemail messages but never told what it was regarding. When I would call back, she acted like she didn't know why I was calling!
Overall the service was good but the process was frustrating
Megan has been very informative and keep me upto date all the way through the process of my house sale! Megan is friendly and helpful and has always been able to answer any questions I have had. If I was ever to sell again in the future express EA would be my first choice have used many main line estate agents the service difference has been
James, straight talking no jargon or sales pitches
I feel comfortable talking to James as he explains things to me without any jargon. I asked him right at the start of dealing with him to be honest with me as I've been let down twice by other estate agents who were more like just salesmen. I wanted someone straight talking and that's what I have got with James so thankyou very much 😊
