    Appalling service

    Had a car reserved for 9am was still waiting for it at 5pm. Called them several times but they were extremely unhelpful. Asked to be put through to complaints dept and the phone got hung up on me. I would never use this company again and would not recommend anyone else do so either

    Avoid

    Avoid! I was promised a hired car today (Friday). Was informed at 2.40pm that they are low in fleet and I won’t get a car until Monday morning. I am disabled, live in a small village and now immobilised. The operator wanted me to be sympathetic to their situation and also told me that all managers had left until Monday, which I don’t believe. Find another car hire firm.

    FRAUD

    I COVERD 21.6 MILES IN A HYBRID MG CAR. I FILLED IT BACK TO THE BRIM COSTING £9.87. I PARKED IT BACK AT THE VW DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DELIVERED. ONE WEEK LATER IT IS STILL PARKED THERE AND NOBODY HAS COLLECTED IT YET. HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN CHARGED £21.52 FOR UNDER FUELING THE CAR, EVEN THOUGH IT HAS NOT BEEN MOVED AND I HAVE A RECEIPT SHOWING HOW MUCH I PUT IN IT. ALSO, HOW CAN A HYBRID AVERAGE 14 MILES TO THE GALLON? FRAUD. THATS WHAT IT IS. TAKING MONEY WITHOUT EVEN COLLECTING THE CAR. DISGUSTING

    Awful company

    Awful service - they took the money for a booking then cancelled the booking and will pay money back in 3-10 working days - leaving me stranded - awful company - then the customer service lady said no manager is available but when I pushed her she said let me see if the manager is available - seriously rubbish misleading company

    Horrendous experience with renting a…

    Horrendous experience with renting a car and then the subsequent customer service that I received. Was forced into an upgrade that I didn’t want- they played the language barrier card so paid the €23 extra. We then paid an extortionate amount of money for a car seat that was both unsafe and filthy. Then When contacting customer services with both photographs and proof of both of these problems, they dismissed my concerns. To rub salt in the wounds, the car itself had warning lights on and a safety recall light on too. Again, something that the customer services department ignored in my email. I rented this car for myself, my husband and a baby whilst on holiday. This car and the car seat were potentially unsafe. This resulted in barely using the car when on holiday, therefore not using it to its full potential and wasting money. Customer service completely dismissed both the photos and my concerns.

    I ordered a van to move house and they assured me on the contact centre they had a van for 8am. Shortly after the local branch called me saying they don't in fact have it but will try and get one at some point. This was the day before my house move. I managed to locate nother van with another company so booked that instead. Europcar then found a van on the day of the booking in the afternoon, I had to be out of the house by 2pm. I was busy moving so didn't have chance to call them back when they left a voicemail. They have now charged me for the full price of the van with no further contact. Absolutely disgusting practice, awful company.

    Never book a car from them

    Never book a car from them, my girlfriend book a car but they where late she text them that she will be late and also they can see what flight is late and so on, but they don’t care . You will come to collect car and they are close .Your holiday started bad beacuse of them. Do not book with them!!!

    Customer service telephone support is SHOCKING.

    Customer service telephone support is shocking. Impossible to get any answers. They transfer you to different departments who transfer you back to the same department. Or just give you a number and say Option 3 and Option 2, where they give you the same answer. Unable to speak to Branch about the delivery of my reservation. Tells you to visit the website for support and hangs up. Avoid at all costs. Not sure if ill ever get my car hire reservation.

    Ongoing from my previous review of this company. I used 1ltr of fuel as I only did 7 miles in the inappropriate car they supplied to me. It was a sports car, so low it gave me terrible back pain (I have osteoporosis and have had 3 x spinal fractures along with fibromyalgia) I could only manage 4 miles never used car again! Now they have had the cheek to send me a bill for £26.21 for 13ltrs!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Apart from abuse received from a member of staff in rental dept, they now insult me by asking for this!

    Frankly a disaster of an organisation

    Frankly a disaster of an organisation! I booked a van, showed up at the branch where I was told they didn’t have any available despite me having a confirmation. I left obviously annoyed, what annoyed me more was then being charged £110 no show fee a week later. I’ve tried to speak with their customer service, but no response nor apology nor action. Avoid this terrible company at all costs. When I actually got a van I rented through Enterprise, the experience was completely different, I actually got a van, very friendly staff and the van was in excellent condition.

    Swindlers!

    Hired a small, cheap car (eg Fiat 500) via Easyjet from Europcar, Glasgow Airport from 21 to 25 November 2024. On arrival at Europcar woman in reception who dealt with me stated that the car had been upgraded at no extra cost, implying that upgrade had already been done. She asked me to sign rental forms, I believed what she told me and did not read through all the details as I had been travelling since 02:00 that morning. I received an invoice on 26 November stating that an extra £142.80 will be taken from my card for the upgrade. I was shocked and disgusted by this, as the employee had stated the upgrade was free and made no mention of extra charges. The staff dealing with the actual vehicle at collection and return were excellent, but the woman in reception lied to me. I will never use Europcar again! Update: 3/12/24. Almost impossible to contact Europcar, had to use email address webmaster at europcar.com after their online contact form failed to work over several days. Customer Services are a joke, after several days received a reply stating: ' I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for taking the time to share your positive feedback regarding our services. Your satisfaction is incredibly important to us, and we are thrilled to hear that we met your expectations.' WHAT! If my review and information sent to them was positive, what does it take to be negative? They are covering up for an employee who lied to me and not engaging in any way with my complaint. Absolute rubbish, avoid at all costs!!!

    Disappointing Experience with Europcar UK: Hidden Fees and Unresolved Damage Charges

    We rented a car from Europcar at Gatwick Airport during the summer. Unfortunately, the vehicle we had booked and paid for was unavailable, and we were provided with a substitute. This was the first indication that things were not going smoothly. Despite having paid in advance for insurance, we were informed there was an additional hidden fee for coverage, which was an unexpected and unwelcome cost. We had budgeted for the trip assuming everything was prepaid, so this extra charge forced us to adjust our finances. While returning the car, an object was thrown from the vehicle in front of us on the motorway, striking the windscreen and causing a chip. At the rental depot, we informed the agent of the incident, providing details of the time and location, and offered to file a police report to address the situation. The agent dismissed our offer, advising that there was no need for a report, as nothing would be done about the chip. Trusting their advice, we proceeded to catch our flight home. Months later, we were surprised to receive a charge for the windscreen damage, as there was no third party to claim from. Had we followed through with the police report, as we initially offered, this situation might have been avoided. In summary, we strongly recommend caution when renting from Europcar UK. From hidden fees to aggressive upselling tactics, it seems they are more focused on extracting additional charges after the rental is complete. Our experience left us disappointed and frustrated.

    Avoid Avoid Avoid

    The motability car they brought wasn't suitable so tried for 3 days to get through to their Bradford branch but no answer. So decided to go to their branch in Bradford and have never experienced anything like it. We were stood in the rain with my partner who uses a walking stick and were spoke to by a lady through a small window because they don't have a door for you to go through. We were told they were very busy although there was just this one lady not doing very much and that there were no other other vehicles available although there was a yard full of vehicles that resembles a scrapyard. Please please avoid this company and especially the Bradford branch.

    Allways hire from these guys at Birmingham Airport branch Sanj is Allways helpful and he explains everything in detail and is allways spot on. Keep up the good work Sanj Definitely recommend this place They won't disappoint with the selection of cars and excellent customer service.

    Europcar hire.. terrible service

    The office I dealt with was in the north east of England. To begin with I would say the actual office is very difficult to get hold of. The number rings out for 15mins and then ends the call saying the office is busy. Secondly they cancelled a reservation that they shouldn't have done as they claimed I hadn't collected it but I called to say I wanted it delivered. Thirdly after promising a replacement car after the initial car broke down they didn't follow through and left me.without a car. So to recap non exist communication, not following through on timelines. There are better companies out there and it's a shame they are so bad.

    WARNING!

    WARNING!! My wife booked the car in order to travel to see her dying father. Minutes after making the booking and paying £278 they cancelled the booking. We spoke to Europcar they told us it’s up to 14 days for a refund. They said it wasn’t possible to use the money for a different booking. Now we don’t have the money to book another car

    LIES LIES AND DAMN LIES

    2nd review as obv they really do not care for customers, promised a car through the motobility contract they have. Promised yesterday 15 mins b4 it was supposed to arrive phoned & said didn’t know when I’d get a car!! Called them today sorry will be with you 6 pm tonight guess what no car, called them the local office shut , was told it’s booked for tomorrow, I cannot believe they are still in business. I also don’t believe it will be here tomorrow. They are a joke!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY ARE THE WORST

    AVOID - useless and incompetent

    AVOID. I’d give them zero stars if I could. Took my money. Cancelled within 40 minutes of collection. Took zero responsibility. Said bookings “aren’t guaranteed”. But take your money, send confirmation and allow early check in. But it’s still not guaranteed? Pretty much tried to say it was my fault. Horrible customer care. It’s been 14 working days and STILL waiting on refund of £120
