Website was easy to navigate, clear and smooth all the way through.
Their representative was very helpful and patent with me to sort my issue out as I am not tech savvy. It took over 30 minutes help for me to log on. He didn't give up but I nearly did as I did not want to waste his time.
Very easy to set up and account was opened in minutes. Also the interest rate was competitive which for us saver’s is what’s important.

They make it impossible to close the account with them. Force you to send a letter to them with the request, then call them on the phone to verify the request. And then it would still not close the account

Have used Cynergy Bank for a couple of years and other family members also. No issues - generally good rates and easy to get money in and out with a decent choice of fixed rate/easy access/notice accounts but like all banks you have to compare the market regularly. The app is good. Covered by the deposit guarantee so no risk up to £85k

Back in April I tried to open an ISA. I couldn't get past the first page as it requested a mobile phone number. I wrote and complained. I was told that I did not need a mobile phone and you issued a digipass for people without one. Why then am I still being prompted on the applications page for a mobile phone and can not progress the account without one?! I have just rang your number to be left waiting in a queue for 20 minutes and the receptionist who is clearly based abroad says I can not apply without a mobile. I would like the correct information. Regarding your reply - the ombudsman said that all banking institutions must provide an alternative to a mobile phone as a means of authentication. Regulations like Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), implemented under EU's PSD2 and overseen in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), require that banks provide an alternative to mobile phone verification for online banking and payments. These alternatives, such as receiving codes via landline or email, or using card readers and biometrics, ensure that customers without smartphones are not excluded, especially vulnerable groups like older people.
Very happy with the bank. Initially, it was difficult to get through the bank’s customer service as the demand from other customers was very high. However, once the account was running, I’ve had no issues.

I raised a complaint on 4 August and Cynergy has not responded. Other than customer services there is no one to speak with. They say there is no manager and you have to officially raise a complaint, which they may respond to in 15 working days. Well this has not happened. They must have so many complaints that they cannot get round to dealing with mine.
Staff dealt with the issue quickly and efficiently
Opened account on a Saturday. Transferred funds by BACs faster payments which should have reached account within a few minutes but bank advised could take up to 2 hours. Funds still not showing as having reached my account. Cannot talk or have any contact with Cynergy as it’s weekend so currently have no idea where my funds are. Have private messaged them from my account and no response either. Correct name, sort code and account number were used.
