Deborah Gallo at Expedia Cruises in Dundas, ON (and her office manager) went out of their way to make our travel experience wonderful. We were travelling to Italy six days before our ten night Princess Cruise. Deborah helped us make our six days in Amalfi and Rome prior to the cruise spectacular by recommending accommodations. Her recommendations were spot on. She arranged our Princess cruise for our group with care and professionalism.
This review pertains to the Expedia Cruises location at 2434 Marine Dr., West Vancouver only. I have had very positive experiences with other Expedia Cruises locations. As an update to this review, the manager of the West Vancouver office posted a reply that was false, defamatory and slanderous. She did nothing to address the issues mentioned below. She then had the review deleted. I booked several cruises with Carol D., and in the beginning, she was great. However, it is when things don't go as planned that you really need an excellent travel agent. This is where Carol's customer service skills leave so much to be desired. When my mother was dying and in hospice care, I contacted Carol to cancel a cruise. I was beyond final payment, so it would be an insurance claim, but I was well covered and had a doctor's note advising against travel. After a few back-and-forth discussions with Carol, she tried to convince me that it would be best if I was a no-show with the cruise line. She assured me that she would write on my insurance form that I cancelled due to family illness. I said that I wasn't comfortable as it was not true. She said the insurance company would just go with what she indicated on the form. As far as I was concerned, this was extremely unethical and basically amounts to fraud. All it would take is for my insurance company to make one phone call to the cruise line and my claim would be denied. I had a very valid reason for cancelling the cruise, so I insisted that she cancel my booking with the cruise line. I could make an educated guess as to why she wanted me to be a no-show, but that really is not the issue. To make things worse, she became argumentative and extremely insensitive to my situation. All I wanted her to do was cancel my cruise so I could spend my time peacefully with Dad, daughter, and my dying mother. Instead, I was distraught and stressed over this situation. I had enough on my plate already, and I sure didn't need this. After this unprofessional display, I probably should've severed my relationship with her right then and there, but I decided to give her another chance. However, the unprofessionalism didn't end. She would discuss her loyal clients with other clients, often making derogatory remarks about them behind their backs. She even admitted doing this to me. The final straw was when she included me in a confidential email between herself and another client without that client's consent. She then handed both bookings over to her franchise partner without explanation. After addressing my concerns with the franchise owner and not receiving a reply, I sent Carol a message expressing my extreme dissatisfaction and stated I no longer wish to communicate with her in any way. I have now found an excellent travel agent that is honest, hard-working, has outstanding customer service skills and truly appreciates my business.
Terrifyingly bad experience. My fiance and I were overcharged 1x person by travel agent Carol Moses Bishop. She apologized and said she would refund us, but then overcharged us AGAIN for 3x more people! Carol has been impossible to work with - failing to answer us, giving excuses, and failing to provide us with another person to talk to. The behaviour can be considered suspicious and fraudulent at this point. It has been over 95 days since she over charged us and we are still out $6000+ with no end in sight. Do not use this company unless you are willing to wait for many months with unauthorized charges to your credit card
Worst place to be a travel agent. Changing commission payout rate after you have signed up. They said they would provide leads but the leads are from so dar back the numbers are even for the names given. I had to find my own leads only to be told that the criminal of a boss is going to charge me an additional 35% on top of the already 45% of my commission for advertising that he never did.
They cancelled my cruise and are not replying to my emails regarding the refund, it's been over a month.
Expedia's trash company. DO NOT USE their cruise agents. They lie, are crooks, do not relay the correct information and then do almost nothing for you, at worst they cost you time, money, and/or enjoyment. They're just middlemen and they admit it. Even the managers are clueless just as their agents and scam and do fraudulent way of business. I am in touch with the cruise line and getting the Attorney General involved as I work for the gov't and going to have both Expedia and Carnival both audited in real time. They suck and rip you off and change their words and lie thru their teeth. So disgusted with both companies. We have written email stating what our cancellation amt would be and they slapped us with penalties that we were told would not be, when asked twice. Such liars , dishonest companies , truly sad.
Expedia first reserved a 3 star hotel were was in bad are full of drugs and thieves ,changing last minute to this hotel ,then this cruise call Norwegian Scape Cruise didn't want to help us about when we complying about the Cruise tours who lying to us saying one thing but was different what saying, buses without air condition and wasn't what they described but the cruise people saying couldn't help us when was taking this cruise tours for them, food was bad but most of people go there didn't care about the food because love to eat anything, they ask you end of the cruise to each person 20% tip when didn't do anything ,were so rude when you ask something
My husband and I drove from NY to Miami for a cruise with msc. We were denied boarding the cruise. They said there was and issue with his documents, but our immigration attorney's office said that we should have been allowed to sail with the documents we had provided. To make matters worse MSC sent me an email stating we would not get a refund for our excursions. MSC stated being denied boarding does not cancel a booking, well then what does?! We even asked for a resail the following weekend while we were still in town, so we didn't lose $3k. Was advised even "IF" we were allowed to re sail it wouldn't be the following weekend (even know there was still tickets being sold). I am not driving back down or paying for airfare for something I've already lost thousands on! Also, was advised that our trip insurance may not cover the cost of our tickets, why purchase trip insurance? They never seem to pay when an incident happens. This all feels like a big scam.
Thank you Harold Verde-Cruise Planner and Travel Agent/Staten Island, NY with Expedia Cruises! I am very grateful for all of your patience, time and expertise. Everything went very well thanks to you! I can’t say all was perfect with the cruise, no fault of yours. There were a few things we didn’t like much, overall it was a wonderful cruise with an amazing staff! I loved seeing a bit of Bahamas as well. I highly recommend Harold for your cruise planning! I’ll add he was available for quite a few different calls on my end. Great guy, very kind and professional also:)
Do not use this company. Liars/ no accountability. The calls go overseas and they are not in place to help only to say, “oh I’m so sorry to hear that.” That is the extent of the training. Do not waste your time or energy. It’s not worth it. They need to be boycotted. Horrible company!
Read the fine print. They have a terrible cancellation policy. When you book, you are stuck with the down payment amount no matter how far in advance you cancel. In our case, it was over 8 months away and they refused, even letting use our down payment for a future cruise. As others have noted, they care nothing about their customers
I bought plane tickets and hotel prepaid. The travel agent i was dealing with did not send me the etickets or vouchers for the trip. When i called them he was no longer working there. One day there-next day gone I still have not recieved any reciepts. Bad Business. Stay away.
I worked with Linda Shaps-Shanin and John Politsky. It wasn't a great experience to work with these agents. John told me that he will call me me to change the booking, but he never called back. Also there was no email response after I emailed for the missing cruise credits. I don't recommend to go to these agents.
One agent is so rude and arrogant. The Expedia cruise She has talked over the phone with an impatient. Not waiting for the time to get the answer. Using bad words for no reason. Escalating a lot over the phone. Expedia cruise it is request to remove this kind of people on the phone. Also, do take action regarding this case. It is very unacceptable behaviour she had.
It’s unfortunate I can’t leave 0 stars because even leaving 1 is being generous. I contacted the company as their number was listed on Royal Caribbean’s site under the Customer Support section. I had a general inquiry about car seats and using a shuttle service. The rep who answered was named Tammy L and I couldn’t believe how rude she’d been. If she wasn’t able to answer my inquiry, I would’ve completely understood, however her response and tone was so belittling. She said that my first problem was that I had booked online instead of with her and to answer my question would take away time from clients that had actually booked with her. I would’ve been more than understanding if she had just politely told me she’d be unable to answer my inquiry or to try calling Royal Caribbean’s general line, instead. If she’d been having a rough day, I get it.. we all get those; but there’s absolutely no reason to take out your frustration on someone looking for general assistance. It’s unfortunate that an unfavourable 2-minute interaction was more than enough to keep me from booking future trips through the company. Additionally, I’ll never suggest to friends/family to book through them, either.
Worst experience ever. Arranged, seating on flights were children were separated from their parents and left to sit with strangers. Cruise line was not luxurious as promised. Most excursions were already completely booked. Restaurant reservations were minimal at best. Family was not placed on the same floor, or even near each other. Flights home were arranged in such a way that large families with multiple children sat at the airport for 10 hours waiting for their flight. Was a complete joke using this travel agency and the worst experience we have ever had!
Have booked 2 family cruises over the past 4 years totalling over 20k. Both times I was told the Expedia points but automatically go into my account. Both times they have not. I made several attempts to call Expedia and send emails with absolutely zero success. I no longer do business with Expedia at all.
Military. Veterans beware of Expedia cruise in Villages Fl. Tried to book a cruise with a group. They gave us a price of 1587 for 4 nights to bahamas. I told them my husband was a veteran and he gets a discount. They told me to get another quote. I did ad it was 1129. They would not honor the discount.
Expedia cruise reservations assistance is a zero. Expedia is very disorganized and the agents are not knowledgeable. My latest experience today trying to rebook a cancelled cruise went nowhere. The local agent was not helpful and I was near completing the new reservation with the country-wide customer service when they left me on the line after 5 pm pacific. After being on hold after a half hour, I looked up there hour a if service and noticed they were closed. Of course the travel agent never called me back. Will never use Expedia Cruises for reservations again!
