🚨 Disappointed with Costa Cruises Shore Excursion to Rome (Code#02FY) 🚨

Just a heads-up for anyone planning to book shore excursions with Costa Cruises — especially if you're an English-speaking guest. We paid €95 per person for what was clearly advertised as an English-speaking tour to Rome on 10 July. But when we arrived, we found out it was actually a bilingual tour shared with German guests, without any prior notice! The guide had to repeat everything in two languages, meaning we got half the content and rushed explanations in English, while the German part was much longer and clearer. It felt like the tour was really meant for German speakers, and English guests were just tacked on. There were 17 English-speaking guests on our bus — more than enough for a separate guide, but Costa didn’t provide one. Ironically, the Pompeii excursion the day before (also with Costa) had two guides on one bus, split by language. So clearly, it can be done! Worse still, I emailed Costa’s customer service and got a generic, dismissive reply that ignored key issues. When I followed up with more details, they stopped replying altogether. The worst cruise ever out of 50+ we have been on...f a Norway cruise on Costa…

WE went of a Norway cruise on Costa Diadema in June. It was the worst cruise - out of over 50 we have done on many different ships. The breakfast Buffet was a complete disaster, terribly organised, long queues, hard to access items, not being able to serve yourself - what is the point, when guests keep touching other surfaces like elevator buttons all the time? No free coffee after breakfast, many services have been removed or are now paid only. Generally, a stingy, mean, poorly organised cruise experience, much worse than other cruise lines we sailed with, and even much worse that Costa used to be.... Costa was always a low-class cruise, but at least it had a cheerful, generous Italian spirit. This is now all gone... Many standard services disappeared - for example, there is no longer salt or pepper at the tables and you have to queue separately to get some salt with your eggs... this is just insane! There are no tablecloths anywhere. everything is now charged as an extra. It is high-pressure merchandising everywhere, what used to be social activities have now turned into high-pressure sales meetings. The whole experience is low class, irritating and mean, and the buffet restaurant manager should be sacked for quietly standing by at the disastrous breakfast queues without doing anything. Return to earlier standards of service, arrange for multi-queue self-service islands at the buffet, and generally stop treating your customers like idiots trying to make them pay for everything!

We had an alwful experience with Costa…

We had an awful experience with Costa cruise lines. 1. Their application is not user-friendly and their informational campaign before the cruise was intended only to sell us upper package and next cruises instead of highlighting the embarking period in the onboarding day. Lack of instructions regarding the embarkation process. We nearly miss the ship because they showed in the application "all on board 6 PM" in our onboarding day without emphasizing that customs is leaving 4 PM and our embarking hour is 3:30 PM. 2.Our cabin smells disgusting, I believe that vent system from the kitchen somehow was close to our AC system and we could smell what they cooked. 3. No free tap water in the restaurants. The first cruise ship that requires to pay our tap water. 4.Dirty cups, forks and spoons in the buffet all the time. The suspicious hygiene was everywhere. 5.Long queues in the buffet 6. Extremely humble list of dishes in the buffet. Usually, the good taste was not their higher priority. 7. On Costa Pacifica Cabin 2202 is for the crew, two separated beds that they even do not have an eye contact. They promoted this cabin as standard and assign it to our friends. For 4 nights they refused to change it because they were "full". On the 4 our of 7 nights they found a normal cabin and compensate is with champaign for 5 $ and 5 macaroons. 7. Reception team was full of non-professionals. NEVER ever I will book a cruise with Costa cruises line. Don't do it too!

Bad bad bad. If you pay the extra drinks plus package you will get a lot of "I'm sorry sir, this drink is finished". A lot. I'm currently in the cruise Costa Smeralda and really disappointed about this package. Bad bad experience with drinks. Most of the premium not available, you basically pay for nothing. This is why they have negative reviews and should be distributed by everyone. Don't pay and alternatively reserve with a real and better alternative cruise company. Only one good: Starlink

Expérience catastrophique : Sécurité inexistante et hygiène douteuse Notre croisière avec Costa a été une énorme déception, entre un grave problème de sécurité, une gestion catastrophique, un manque d’hygiène flagrant et des nuits impossibles à cause du bruit. 🔴 Un intrus dans notre cabine dès le premier jour ! À notre arrivée, nous avons découvert la porte grande ouverte et un passager alcoolisé manipulant nos affaires, renversant de l’alcool partout. Ce dernier s’est enfui après avoir déclaré qu’il « faisait une visite »… Nous avons immédiatement signalé l’incident à la réception et à la sécurité, photos et vidéos à l’appui, mais la réponse de Costa a été désastreuse. ⏳ Des heures d’attente pour une solution médiocre Nous avons dû attendre plus de 6 heures avant qu’une alternative nous soit proposée. La nouvelle cabine était d’une catégorie inférieure, avec un balcon trois fois plus petit que celui que nous avions payé en supplément. Pourtant, on nous avait assuré que nous aurions une cabine équivalente… Mensonge total ! 🚢 Un service client dépassé et inefficace Pendant plusieurs jours, nous avons demandé des nouvelles de l’intrus qui s’était introduit chez nous. Aucune enquête sérieuse, aucune explication, aucune action concrète ! Malgré nos preuves (vidéos et photos), il semble que Costa n’ait absolument rien fait pour retrouver cet individu. 🧼 Propreté déplorable : un bateau sale et mal entretenu En plus du manque de sécurité, l’hygiène du bateau laissait clairement à désirer : Les moquettes des couloirs et des parties communes étaient tachées et sales. De la poussière et des détritus un peu partout, preuve d’un nettoyage insuffisant. La cabine qu’on nous a attribuée n’était pas propre, et malgré un soi-disant nettoyage, il restait des traces d’alcool de l’incident initial. 🌬️ Impossible de dormir à cause du bruit du vent Comme si ça ne suffisait pas, les joints des portes du balcon étaient tellement arrachés que le vent sifflait toute la nuit. Résultat : impossible de dormir à cause du bruit infernal. Une croisière est censée être reposante… Costa a réussi à nous faire vivre l’inverse. 💸 AUCUNE compensation juste pour les préjudices subis Nous avons perdu du temps, de l’énergie et notre séjour a été gâché dès le départ. La seule compensation ? Un repas au restaurant sushis a 46euros, comme si cela allait compenser le stress, les heures perdues et le non-respect du service payé comme le choix de la cabine a hauteur de 200euros et le sejour de plus de 2000 euros ! IL EST OU LE REMBOURSSEMENT meme partiel ???? 📉 Une compagnie dépassée par les problèmes Chaque jour, la réception était envahie de passagers en colère – plus de 600 problèmes signalés quotidiennement pour 6000 passagers. Costa semble incapable de gérer correctement une croisière de cette envergure. ⚠️ CONCLUSION : À éviter absolument ! Aucun respect du client, manque de sécurité flagrant, gestion désastreuse des incidents et service client inexistant. Si vous voulez des vacances sereines, fuyez Costa Croisières !

Één grote ergernis

Één grote ergernis Eerder een cruise gedaan met de costa Toscana. Was goed. Daarom nu bij stipreizen een kerst cruise naar VAE geboekt ,nu met de Costa Smeralda. In een woord vreselijk. Ik heb 23 klachten Een aantal hier: 1 De hut was de helft kleiner dan op de Toscana. 2 Ons toegewezen restaurant was 1 1/2 dag gesloten.. Het andere restaurant waar we naar werden verwezen was overvol. 3 De laatste dag werd verwacht dat we om 08.30 uur de koffers ophaalden en het schip verlieten. Konden we voor de Terminal 3 uur wachten op de transfer naar het vliegveld. Er was niets om op te zitten. 4 De ontbijt restaurants sloten soms al heel vroeg. Eentje om 09.00 uur. Ander om half 10.00. Kwam je in het restaurant dat om 11.00 uur sloot dan had je bijna niets meer. 5 Sommige mensen namen tassen vol brood,broodbeleg en fruit mee naar hun kamer. Soms was er geen brood meer,geen fruit behalve harde stukken water meloen. 6 De beloofde kerstsfeer op de boot was ver te zoeken. Op 2 dekken stonden een paar kerstbomen. 7 Soms moest je 20 min in de rij staan voor een roer ei. Dan weer 10 min in de rij voor beleg. Soms moest je maar een tafel zien te bemachtigen. Enz,enz Veel te massaal. Komen beloften niet waar. 8 De beloofde live optredens waren 1 keer op een video scherm een optreden van een band. 6 persoons band was 1 meneer op een klein orgeltje. 9 Het eten was vaak niet zoals je zou verwachten 10 De bedragen op de drankkaart klopten de eerste 2 dagen niet. Veel mensen in de stress. Moesten we weer in de rij om de kaarten te laten vervangen . Zo heb ik nog 13 klachten ...Ik heb alleen maar irritaties opgelopen en kwam daardoor dood moe thuis. Nooit meer op de Tosca Smeralda.

Dårligt og larmende krydstogt

På krydstogt fra Savona til Rio de Janeiro november 2024. Ventede 4 timer på at komme ombord. Plasticsofa i kahytten og balkondør meget stram at få op, til gengæld lukker den hurtigt og tungt. Svært at finde skibets toiletter, som er meget smalle. Overalt meget støj fra råbende underholdningsteam og alle barer med musik har vanvittig høj musik. Også teatret var lydniveauet vanvittigt højt samtidig med at projektører lyste ud i hovedet på publikum. Costa-Club optager 4 borde i kortspilsrummet selvom der var rift om bordene til kortspil. Maden i restaurant og buffet OK en del af tiden, men sommetider ulækker at se på og uspiselig. Restaurantpersonalet var søde, men italiensk personale i buffetrestauranten var uhøflige. Der manglede ofte smør til morgenmaden i buffetrestauranten. Balkonvask annonceret for anden gang på turen fra 07:30-12:00, men de var ikke færdige kl. 12:05, så måtte gå igen, dermed var kahytten ikke brugbar en halv dag. Ofte kø til dit og dat. Al personale bør på kursus i engelsk, italienere kan ikke gøre sig forståelige med deres engelske/italienske dialekt. Italiensk er ikke et globalt sprog. Man glemte at råbe os op på mødestedet, da vi skulle forlade skibet. Vi har sejlet med Costa Cruise 3 gange: For første, sidste og eneste gang.

Avoid Costa Cruise

I have been cruising for more than 15 years and this was my 90th time with Costa Diadema. Otherwise, I have about 10 with Costa cruise, and the others are with MSC, NCL and others. This cruise was 21 nights from Genoa to Santos and the worst so far that I have been on was in every way. From embarking in Genoa, which lasted about 6 hours, accommodation in old cabins with old beds and pillows. The ship has not been renovated for 10 years, the stench of the carpets on the stairs, as well as the sewage, the ship is like a passenger toilet. The food in the buffet and restaurants is terrible, the crew is uncultured and the worst I've ever seen. I traveled with my niece who got the flu ten days ago, so we went to the hospital on the ship and they gave her two infusions with spazmex and paracetamol and they charged $690 for it and they told us that the hospital is private and not from the Costa cruise company. This was mine and from many passengers on board last with Costa.

Costa over bill your card!!!

I’m a frequent cruiser, but this was my first and last Costa cruise. My father uses a CPAP that requires water. This was notified in advance, and we received an email confirmation stating that a complimentary gallon of distilled water would be brought to our room. It was never brought. We had to request it from the staff several times, but the water was never delivered. The customer service line is always endless. Be prepared to waste 2 hours waiting for them to not resolve your issue. We ended up buying two large bottles of water and were billed $20.00 plus tip. Ridiculous! The food was ok, but if you have a 5- or 7-day cruise you will get tired because they have the same menu every day at the buffet. The coffee is terrible. The lines are endless. It seemed like the cruise was overcrowded. We had to wait for an available table because they were always full. We decided to get to the buffet right when it opens, and they never opened it on time. We had to wait 5-10 minutes because they were never ready on time. Meanwhile, many other passengers who thought the same as us were waiting. The best option is to go to the Early Bird Breakfast. The variety of food is very limited, but at least you can find empty tables and the lines are short. The buffet is not open all the time. If you want to eat something in the afternoon you have to wait for snack time until 4 pm. Same story. They were never ready on time, but they removed the food just as snack time ended. They never made up for the time. The line? Same story! At dinner, we had the same problem. They never opened at the scheduled time. Although 5 minutes late does not seem like a big deal, the reality is that there were a lot of people in the hallway waiting for the dining room doors to open, which ended up blocking the passageway. I think the cruise ship was overcrowded and could not deal with the problem. Cruise ships are always full, but this one was overcrowded. They do not have a lot of variety in tours, so we only bought one, and the rest of the time we were on our own. Even though I have the receipt for $118, they charged my card for $186. The same thing happened with the purchase of the photos. My receipt says $90 and they charged $134. I tried to contact Costa, but as usual, they were not helpful. It took me days to finally get hold of a customer service representative who ultimately told me there was nothing they could do, and I had to email them. I emailed several times and today, a month later, no one has responded my emails. I disputed the card charge, but Costa claims the charges are correct and they can only give a $5 discount. I am not asking for a discount. What I am asking is for them to charge the correct amount. I have receipts proving the amount they billed me and yet they will not give a breakdown of the charges or explanations. They just say they billed the correct amount without showing evidence. This shows that they are a mediocre company that not only oversells their cruises, they are not responsible with their schedules and they steal from customers. No wonder their customer service line is always long! I do not recommend Costa. Do yourself a favor and travel with a decent company!

What is lower than a 1? Costa Let's start with the fact they recommended a Bag Service called Bag Express, which opened our bags and ended with the theft of our personal items - and Costa did nothing, did not even help to ensure the company responded back to us. Then let us add to that the fact that they harrassed us repeatedly about a credit card after we supplied them with one that was operating with no problem, but they were unable to get their act together to stop the harrassment. The food - raw chicken, in a restaurant that charged for the experience. Really just a miserable experience

Costa Smerelda Med in October

We recently returned from an 8 day med cruise on Costa Smerelda. The food, drinks, service, cabins and overall facilities were wonderful. Overall, the staff were excellent. Jane in the Ferrari bar and Thi my Dung in the restaurant were particularly exceptional and made our experience from a 4-start to a 5-star. Roman and Christian in the Jazz bar and Jed the cabin steward were also always happy and helpful.
