In 2019 we used Trish Di Vito and Brad Teal Real Estate to sell a number of apartments for us. Initially they were only contracted to sell one, however it was evident from our first sale the Trish and the team were going to be engaged to sell all our current stock. Working with Brad Teal it was clear that had a great understanding of the market, they were passionate about selling, the communication was clear and honest regarding current leads and Trish had a great ability to assist us in obtaining a sale. Brad Teal and Brett Robinson handled the sale of our late mother's house with great honesty and integrity. They indicated what was necessary to ensure a speedy sale and maintained constant contact by informing us of the reaction after each inspection. From the beginning they informed us of all the costs together with their very reasonable commission. Even when the auction failed to attract a bid, they managed to find a potential customer in the crowd, keeping us appraised of the negotiations. Although this customer was unable to reach our price, they continued with more inspections until the residence was eventually sold, two weeks after the date of the auction. Since then, they have continued to maintain contact and no doubt this will continue up to the settlement date.

I appreciated the initial contact with Matthew and the prompt manner in which our property viewing was organised. I was a little concerned that after our offer was accepted and the contract of sale was signed that the property was not marked as sold on the web sites and the board a bit earlier. Only other concern was that on our pre settlement inspection the agent (not Matthew) seemed more concerned about the vendor’s cat escaping than assisting us going through the inspection process. However I must say Matthew was excellent throughout the sale process in keeping us informed, and with his suggestions such as the building inspection, etc.

Whilst we had a fantastic experience with the Brad Teal team, we did not understand the intent of the full team walk through in the initial stages of our sale as most sale staff didn’t seem to be interested in our home!

I had not sold a property before and was quite overwhelmed. I met with Craig Teal and Brad Best in the Gisborne Office. They guided me through the property selling process and explained everything, I was able to ask questions and reassured about my concerns and circumstances. Brad Best continued with the management of my sale, I was kept well informed via phone calls, text messages and emails at regular intervals. My property was presented very well with great pictures, an accurate floor and garden plan and a lovely description. A big board was out the front, and open days, private viewings were arranged. I was provided with the incorrect email address when I phoned to email my notice to vacate and so need to pay an extra months rent. When trying to contest this, my partner was hung up on and we were threatened with having money taken from our bond, which is a breach of the tenancies act despite my offering to pay the remaining rent. My partner was also hung up on when he tried to explain the situation as well. In addition, when trying to change bank accounts at the beginning of the year, another month's rent was taken from the old account instead of the new one, causing an overdraft of over $700. I hope in the future their staff do not mislead and make the same mistakes with others as the experience I have had with them over the past two years has been unprofessional.
