Huge thank you to Shaun and Andrew for firstly selling our house and then in getting us moved into our now place despite the best efforts of our incompetent solicitor, without them we would never have exchanged and completed on the date. Great brochure and marketing when we first put house on market, all viewings were accompanied and feedback given to us. They kept our buyer happy for month whilst we looked for our new home. They helped us first find and then buy our new home. Whenever we called whoever answered was always able to look up what was going on and either answer our questions or get Shaun to call us back. Thank you Paul & Lois

Mouldy, damaged and dirty

Very keen to rent out a mouldy, insecure and damaged property - ‘this damage the landlord does not want to repair’. Poor communication and when pushed about getting issues fixed were told misleading information and contradictory answers to try and fob us off. Some issues have begun to be addressed. Worrying situation to be in with a young family and sadly would not currently recommend. We have signed a long lease so if this situation improves I will update our review.

A breath of Fresh Air

After switching from another local agent who struggled to find me a tenant, working with Bourne has been a game changer. They were a breath of fresh air, professional, proactive, and had my property let within a week! I thought it might be a one-off, but the team have just done it again. Quick, efficient, and consistently reliable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bourne Cobham to any landlord. 100% recommend!

Avoid this company.

Attention Foreign Nationals: Avoid This Company A year ago, when I was searching for a house to rent and was new to the UK, I didn’t have the required references. I told the agents I would pay an entire year of rent upfront to bypass the reference check and I was on a very tight moving schedule with only slightly more than two weeks to move. Despite my offer to pay upfront and my lack of references, it took them more than a week to process the reference check, which ultimately achieved nothing. I was forced to pay an additional £2,000 to the removal company due to the last-minute arrangements. Now, a year later, this company is demanding that I return the property in pristine condition, free from any wear and tear. They are treating a minor stain on the basin as damage and have even called an electrician for a lamp cover that only needed a simple adjustment to the lamp cover. This company's behavior reflects sheer greed and unprofessionalism. To anyone from abroad, particularly those from Hong Kong with substantial cash resources, do not grant them any leniency. There is no reason to be accommodating with them; they are profiting from you whether you are a tenant or a buyer. Best is avoid this company at all costs. Feb.2025 UPDATE I wasn’t going to name names, but since they’re pushing out the usual “due procedure” excuses, let’s be clear. Their sales/property manager, Ross, told me, "If you don’t want to rent the house, that can be arranged." This was less than a week before my tenancy was set to start. Completely unprofessional and dismissive. Now, a year and a half later, over six months after moving out, I still haven’t received my full deposit back due to a dispute. As expected, this company sided with the landlord who pays them, rather than being fair. Even after TDS stepped in, they did nothing to release the undisputed portion of my deposit—until I explicitly warned them I would file a complaint. Suddenly, they started "processing it." Avoid this company at all costs. They do not act in the tenant’s best interest and will drag out deposit returns for as long as possible.

Bourne were proactive when other agents couldnt be asked

We have had a difficult time trying to find somewhere to rent. Bourne Estate Agents were by far the most helpful, they actually proactively worked to find us somewhere whilst other estate agents really were not interested. Their honesty was also much appreciated. We were led along by others even when there was little prospect of success. Thanks especially to Alice.

Blooming Marvellous!

Adrian from Bourne Estate Agents was very relaxed in his initial sales approach, never applying any undue pressure. His unique insight shone through when he suggested subtle adjustments to enhance the appeal of our home – something none of the other agents even considered. Jo effortlessly conveyed the details of the parking covenant to potential buyers. This was a great relief, as our previous agents' struggles to understand and communicate it effectively. Bourne's proactive approach, including the creation of drone footage and responsive promotion, injected fresh interest into our property, which had languished on the market for six months with other agents. Incredibly, our home sold within just three weeks, with an exchange completed in twelve. Throughout the process, Bourne, especially Rebecca, provided unwavering support. I often joked that Rebecca became my weekly therapist during moments of stress, as she was always there to reassure and guide us. When issues arose with the buyer's agent, Bourne went above and beyond to ensure the chain remained intact, exceeding their contractual obligations in the process. In contrast, the service provided by other agents fell far short. One agency had unreliable weekend staff who couldn't get the details right, while another was downright arrogant and dismissive. Looking back, we regret not choosing Bourne from the start. Their exceptional service, particularly Rebecca's caring and empathetic approach, deserves special recognition. We can't thank them enough for making the selling process a breeze.
