Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals Reviews

Excellent experience! Beautiful rental home, easy company to work with, and great communication. For me, the more communication the better. I don't want to have to wonder about any aspect of my rental. They exceeded my expectations with this. Had a couple minor repairs that needed to be made, and they promptly fixed everything when I alerted them.

The house and view was very beautiful. Just a few comments to improve the experience: 1) Previous renters' trash filled the outside container. There was only room for one bag of ours. 2) Outdoor kitchen grill and fireplace was not operational (should note this in the listing). New gas grill was provided, which was appropriate. 3) Fire table was new and nice but not working 100%. It was difficult to keep fire lit. 4) Cleaning crew left hot tub porch doors open with no instructions how to lock the electronic dead bolt. We spent time on the phone with rental company and a person also came out to resolve.

We rented Lazy River Lodge it would have been a great house with the exception of needed maintenance. The lawn was not mowed until a few days after we arrived. The septic system was leaking and running into the river. When you sat on the porch or in the hot tub you smelled sewer. Not pleasant when eating dinner outside. The Basement bathroom has mold on the ceiling and door. The up stairs faucet broke and got fixed with tape. Lastly there were many light bulbs out throughout the house. We have rented through you many times and this was disappointing.

The house is beautiful and a perfect location on the river. Great game room except no balls for the foosball table. My grandsons enjoyed the pool table and basketball game! Master bedroom needs to update mattress and some of the bread pans need to be thrown away. Not fond of all the labels in the kitchen but under stand. We would rent it again! Hopefully some of these suggestions will be taken care of!

We recently stayed at The Apple Cabin. It was so lovely! The cabin was spotlessly clean, extremely cozy and comfortable. It's in a wonderful location close to downtown Blowing Rock as well as Boone (a great grocery store is about 5 mins away). This is an ideal getaway for 2 couples (2 king-sized beds!) who want to be close to everything. Highly recommend and we'll be back!

Home was comfortable and well equipped.

A perfect stay. Love the location. So close to the Beech Gate and still close to the winery and Great Camp. The fenced-in yard is great for my dog to stretch his legs in between long walks through Eagle's Nest. The hot tub is located with a view of the woods and not the neighbors. The house has everything you might need.

Excellent, beautiful, clean.

Quiet. Great cabin. Good views of mountains. We enjoyed very much. Thanks!

Had a major problem with my orginal rental and they came to the table and took great care of us. Thank you to a great service team!

Blue Ridge Rentals was very accommodating in the issue we had with the AC unit at the cabin. When we go to Hidden Serenity, we realized that the thermostat was unable to go below 72, while this doesn't seem bad, we sleep with the temperature at 68 at night in our home. There was no way to get to that temperature without a code from the homeowners. They would not release the code; well they actually told us they had no code. When we came back from dinner the second night the temperature was miraculously able to go down to 70. Obviously the homeowners can control the temperature remotely. Our biggest issues were 1) the temperature of 72 for the low was listed nowhere. Not on the website for the cabin or in the binder when we arrived. Everything stated you cannot turn the AC below 65. There was absolutely no way to get it down past 72. In the summer, this is unacceptable, and especially not to have it listed anywhere. We spent a day and a half dealing with trying to get the temps lowered, met with two maintenance guys (having to work around their schedules on our vacation) and numerous emails and phone calls to Blue Ridge. 2) We were being lied to by the homeowners. We googled the instruction book to the control panel, and it stated you needed a code, but the homeowners said they were not aware of a code, but again, they were able to lower it themselves. We have never stayed at a vacation rental where we had this much trouble with the AC and the homeowners having control over the temps inside the home. Just be aware, if you rent this home, you will not have control of the temperature inside the home (below 72). I would also be curious how warm you can set the heat in the winter. After all we had to deal with, we weren't offered a discount or even given a credit back, even though this was misrepresented (left off) on the cabin's website. 3) The temperature inside the cabin will only hold for 4 hours once you set it. So in the middle of the night, I would wake up so hot and had to get up to turn the AC back down. This was very annoying and unnecessary. This again was not stated anywhere on the website or in the binder in the home. There were also a lot of items that did not work or needed to be cleaned/repaired that we had to email Blue Ridge about...no shower curtain liner in the primary bathroom, very loud noise when using the guest shower, light bulbs burned out, screen door would not shut, bird poop all over the back porch, the paint on the rockers on the back porch were flaking so badly that you couldn't use them, and the cushions on the back porch were shot. There was no padding left in them. The location was great, however, the temperature inside the home was a big deterrent for us.

Great cabin, very clean and just as advertised.

This was a beautiful place for a girls weekend! We enjoyed sitting on the deck/porch and taking in the beautiful view! We enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, and theater room! And all the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for the 3 of us! We would definitely stay here again!

This is the best place we’ve ever stayed at in the mountains. The spa, trails, cleanliness, children’s treehouse and other amenities. You can tell that this place is loved on. It also accommodates our large family, it’s expensive but well worth it.

Wonderful area, great weather

Cabin was excellent.

Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals was a pleasure to book with. From check in to check out was easy and exactly as stated. They even left à welcome gift of coffee, cup and granola when we returned one day. The cabin was very nice and clean and the perfect getaway to kick back and relax.

The day we were to arrive , we were notified that the AC in our rental wasn’t working. Angie worked most of the morning and early afternoon to find us another property that would work for our family. Thank you so much!

It was easy to make the reservation and they were helpful answering all my questions. They tried to accommodate my needs.

AC was not working in the rental before our arrival. Was only sent email advising of this and stating portable units had been installed but this would not change our experience. I had to call and request to be moved. The options I was given were priced hundreds below what I originally paid and did not meet the criteria I was looking for in a home. There was one house that I located ( was not provided to me as an option) but it cost $350 more than my original rental. I had to pay the entire amount of the increase. They would not assist at all even though it was not my fault the AC was broken. I have rented here many many times but will avoid in the future.
