Review summary

The Bank of England receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from consumers, with many expressing dissatisfaction regarding its handling of interest rates and overall economic management. Reviewers frequently criticize the bank's leadership, describing it as reactive and disconnected from the realities faced by struggling families. Complaints about rising interest rates and perceived greed are common, with some calling for a change in leadership. However, there are a few positive remarks, particularly regarding satisfaction with loan conditions, where customers appreciate clear terms and helpful staff. Additionally, some consumers express approval of the new £20 polymer note, noting its modern design. Despite these isolated positives, the majority sentiment reflects deep frustration and disappointment with the bank's current policies and performance.

Beware beware beware!!!…

Beware they will table slam you, place and sell insurance you did not approve, keep the money you paid at closing for insurance and add money to your loan that you never approved applied for or agreed to. Then to hide their fraud they will sell your loan to a worse company like Rushmore loan services who have a fake web site just for starters.

Major communication issues when dealing with BOE.

Getting my home loan from BOE was a satisfactory experience. Since then, trying to contact them via email or telephone is a disaster. You can not talk to a HUMAN at BOE. I have tried numerous numbers shown and they all end of reverting to a "branch" office that is of no help as they were not the ones that initiated my loans. Passwords for login to their site only work about 5% of the time then you have to a reset. Hit the reset link and you are to receive a link to change your password. NEVER receive the link and I have tried numerous times. ONCE, I actually spoke to a human in their technology center and he informed me that "yea, a lot of people have this problem". He did get me the link and I got logged in that day Have asked numerous times for the HDQT direct line and have NEVER been given a direct number. It goes to voice mail then I get redirected to a branch. Before retirement, I was an Executive for two of the largest companies in the United States. I would strongly suggest that someone look into your communication issues. Have and executive try to contact someone using the numbers published by BOE. I think they would have a total different perspective on how the BOE customer is treated. Many companies have communication issues but this is BY FAR AND AWAY the worse I have ever encountered.

the BOe governor fell asleep at the wheel at the FCA

This is a statement from the past from the Current BOE Governor. "Andrew Bailey around 2014 at a Treasury Select Committee meeting:- regarding the PRA But these comments were also referring to Himself & a team in general. "I am unashamedly a hands-on leader, and I don’t like being isolated from what is going on." I "It is very important to have such a team who are, like me",committed to putting into effect supervision to pursue our statutory objectives, and to having an open style of communication and accountability. Sounds really encouraging that you have this man at the helm but just prior to his BOe appointment, Andrew Bailey was at the helm of FCA and fell asleep at the wheel putting it on collision course and ignored all the warnings that LCF was a 236 Million Pound Ponzi scheme and lost his sense of smell as his staff were defecating on the floor. All this was in the Public Domain but the powers to be still appointed Andrew Bailey as BOe Governor. HOW??? Minouche Shafik, a former BoE deputy governor who is director of the London School of Economics was a prime candidate but the advise of Bradley Fried was not heeded who said. It will be a brilliant moment for this institution when we appoint our first woman governor and it will be a brilliant moment for the institution when we appoint our first BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) governor," Bradley Fried, chair of the BoE's Court, said.

Poor communications

As a Real Estate broker but more importantly as a customer, I cannot recommend this institution for a mortgage loan. The agents are afraid to converse on the phone regarding loan and options. When asked specifics regarding loans and their companies narrow minded loan approvals they fir back with snarky text messages. Example; I asked why when other mortgage companies do VA loans on manufactured(doublewide) homes, why doesn't your company? He fired back with a smart assed response "because they don't want too!". After dealing with his lack of communication and limited guidance, I have terminated my loan process and have since found a lender who does everything I need including communicate!

Endangering the Earth by supporting fossil fuel companies

They should not be supporting fossil fuel companies. Our survival is at stake here with the planet as were already not on track to meet the Paris France agreement of a temperature increase of 1.5oC, (which in itself is having catastrophic effects like natural disasters) here in England our footprint is amongst the highest unyet we feel less effects than most countries which is unfair. Instead I'm begging you help more sustainable options.

The new £20 polymer note is wonderful

The new £20 polymer note is wonderful, and it is about time that this mainstay of the UK economy was brought into the modern world. Hopefully will prevent millions or billions in counterfeiting. About time too.
