I cannot fault the service I received from Rachel Mack. She went that extra mile to ensure that she was able to offer me exactly what I wanted from my river cruise choice. I had many questions and requirements which she dealt with in a friendly, helpful manner whilst remaining professional at all times. It was a pleasure to deal with her, she is a credit to APT.
Very high quality fabulous cruise.
Fabulous boat, immaculately maintained, excellent ports of call, enthusiastic and informative Tour Director, plenty of food and drink, ( though served by less than enthusiastic staff, no eye contact, little rapport ). Overall, an exceptionally good trip. We would strongly recommend APT to anyone considering a small motor yacht cruise.,

The trip was very tiring. It was a good experience in general but the tour could have been at least three days longer. It would have boosted the tourist contributions if we’d have had more time at comfort / lunch stops. One bad experience with a hotel should not be repeated…. Dinner scheduled for 7pm but didn’t get to order till 8.15. We were still waiting our main courses at 9pm. Some of the hotel rooms weren’t ready on arrival at 6.30pm (at our Fox Glacier hotel). Many people said it was their first and last tour due to not a lot of relaxation time…. Shame for APT

Despite major disruption caused by cyclone/earthquake/ferry breakdown in New Zealand (11/2-28/2/23), our guide, Danny Dillon, worked tirelessly to make sure our tour worked the best it could, along with Tim our driver. Several of our inclusive trips disappointingly couldn't go ahead, but Danny did his best to book alternatives. Both guys very informative and accomodating. One criticism would be evening meal dining times-always around 6.30pm, which was a rush when we sometimes never got to the hotel till 5.45pm - after a busy day touring it wasn't quite the relaxing evening it could have been. Hotels/food/trips we did manage were all great.

We went on a 17 days bus tour of North and South Islands of New Zealand. The itinerary was tight and included a lot of driving, but that was to be expected. We stayed in (mostly) good hotels and buffet breakfast and most dinners were included. The tour gave us a good overview of the country and we visited most tourist hot spots on both islands. What I was missing was scientific-based information on the flora, fauna and geology of the country and the option to explore areas of interest individually and on foot. I was particularly disappointed that the tour did not offer the option to visit the world's only Albatross breeding place accessible by land.

LIKE 1 Our driver Matt was exceptional and the planned programme was achieved on time with one exception (visit to Huka Falls due to weather) It is worth remembering the early part of the tour was during the cyclone on North Island. Matt's local knowledge overcame most difficulties 2 Six of the hotels used were very good 3 Best of itinery was Kauri Museum; Bay of Islands; Waitomo Caves; Thermal Reserve; Hangi & Village experience; Dinner at Walter Peak; Milford Sound; Lake Taupo Overall enjoyed the tour, and saw what we wanted to see! Would rate 3*+ DISLIKE 1 Tour group was too large (44 people) some of the group leaving and new ones arriving on different days Many on the tour had been with APT on previous tours and they all said that previously the maximum on tour was 25-30 people 2 This resulted in not enough time allocated for coffee and lunch stops with the sheer volume of customers cafe's and restaurants had to serve in short space of time 3 No name badges. You can't remember 44 names. Other APT tour groups which shared the same hotels all had name badges 4 Not enough time spent at Kauri Museum (45mins); Lake Taupo (30mins) 5 Lack of scenic viewpoint stops which were signposted for photo shoots 6 whilst some of the stops I would question "was it really worth it?" eg Twig in the sea; Church of the Good Shepherd; Moeraki Boulders stop 7 Sub standard hotels at Grand Millenium Auckland (Breakfasts); Copthorne Bay of Islands; Millenium Rotorua; Smallest room ever stayed at Mount Cook 8 Couple of days sitting on coach with very little sightseeing

Pete the tour organiser had a hard job due to the cyclone in Auckland and the fact he hadn’t got enough information on New Zealand to do the commentary. He only agreed to do the tour if he had a driver with the experience and information on the island. So we ended up with Benson! A nice guy BUT we couldn’t understand him, he would start a sentence then after 20 seconds or more finish the sentence. He would leave his Mike on and all we could hear was heavy breathing. (He seemed to have a breathing problem). In the end we just wished he would shut up. There was far, far to many toilet breaks. Sometimes just half hour from the hotel. So we would get up early rush breakfast then stop twice when we could have had more time at the hotel. Near the end of the tour he missed the entrance to one stop tried to get in the other entrance hit a parked car pushed the parked car into another car! At Christchurch airport he took wrong entrance tried to then reverse with all cars behind him and hit the concrete reservation 3 times scraping the underneath of the coach and making a terrible noise. We stayed at some beautiful stunning places but I dreaded getting in the coach. It was torture! Near the end of the tour we had four cases of Covid. No one’s fault. Peter was very kind and helpful to me as I left my iPad in Sydney. The hotel posted it to the hotel in Christchurch and Pete organised it for me. I was so disappointed we could not do Bay of islands & missed out on 3 days really due to the cyclone. So although the hotels were great and amazing breathtaking scenery the coach journey marred the tour.

We took the 17 day group tour of North and South New Zealand . There were 44 people in the group which was probably too many for this type of tour given the time taken to load / unload at stopping points for lunch etc The trip involved long days on the coach with many early starts ie 7/8 am so beware the trip is full on!. The driver was excellent and gave excellent commentary as to the daily journey contents . The ATP guide was good and did his best to keep all the group and the various side tour options on schedule. I would say that the side tours or FOC choices should be confirmed before travel as some were not available on the tour which lead to some disappointment. All the hotels used were of good quality and the meals , when provided were of a good standard.
