The best electricity retailer I have had for 20 years
This is a great company if you use lots of electricity.
They give you warnings when the price is expensive so you can cut back your usage.The rest of the day your power is less then half the price of other power companies.As they price power on how much the are charged,not what they can get away with like other companies.They also send you details in the beginning of each season on their maximum charge related to peak pricing.They also have an app that shows how much power you are using at anytime and how much solar is going back into the grid.
When you have any questions they get back to you quickly.
Amber is the best electricity supplier I have had in the last 20 years.
Outstanding product. We get our electricity at cheaper price and best of all get great export prices. Customer service has been amazing, explaining each questions answer clearly with the assistance to talk us through what we needed to do. Well done guys
A breath of fresh air, with a company that is allowing solar and battery installers to be rewarded for their investment. Other companies, have reduced solar input to 3 cents per kw, an insult. Looking forward to a mutually rewarding experience, where we are rewarded for our investment.
I have never been with an electricity company that makes you feel like you're part of their family. Customer service is amazing. App is amazing. Pricing is amazing. I couldn't recommend Amber more.
Extremely happy with Amber despite room for improvement
Very happy with company and ideas to reward cleaner energy by discouraging energy usage when it is dirtier by passing on the actual wholesale costs.
Not so good is that it can take a while to get responses to questions.
Last I was told the mobile app assumes you are on a single rate network tariff and will show incorrect prices if this is not the case. It would be good if this could get fixed. Plus maybe being able to see a breakdown of the prices would be really helpful too. I have written software to do this but would be good if I could validate it is actually showing good data.
And being able to compare your energy bill on different network tariffs would also be really good.
It has been a great experience, my bills have dropped from $200 to $300 plus every month to now only being around the $120 mark, when there are spikes, i can limit my electricity and keep my bill lower, i know when i can use my heavy consuming power products, like my clothes dryer, its great and brings savings back to my family and I.
After two months with Amber Electric I'm ecstatic with the outcome! Our property has two dwellings on two and a half acres with six adults living here full time. The main house has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and the main living rooms have a 14.4kw electric in slab coil heating. The second dwelling is a two bedroom cottage. There's two each electric ovens, cooktops and electric off peak hot water services plus multiple split system A/C units. The climate here is sub Alpine with maximum daytime winter temperatures constantly in the single digits.
The property obviously has peak power usage during winter, so the last two months usage is indicative of my expected future savings.
Being retired makes it easy for me to monitor the Amber App and adjust the timing of appliance usage accordingly, particularly during any price spikes. Compared to my previous energy provider, PowerShop (who have a superb App and customer service), Amber Electric has saved me more than $200 for May and again more than $300 for my latest June Bill. I expect the savings to be even greater during the two coldest months of July and August.
I find the daily routine of monitoring the usage and wholesale price variations using the Amber App quite addictive and thoroughly enjoyable!
