Amber electric have upped my usage charge by 3 times my original costing. Doubling my previous bill. I work full time hardly home with 2 people in the house. When asked why it is so high. They said I used more that month. Not double the amount. I will not use them again it recommend them.
The best electricity retailer I have had for 20 years
This is a great company if you use lots of electricity.
They give you warnings when the price is expensive so you can cut back your usage.The rest of the day your power is less then half the price of other power companies.As they price power on how much the are charged,not what they can get away with like other companies.They also send you details in the beginning of each season on their maximum charge related to peak pricing.They also have an app that shows how much power you are using at anytime and how much solar is going back into the grid.
When you have any questions they get back to you quickly.
Amber is the best electricity supplier I have had in the last 20 years.
Outstanding product. We get our electricity at cheaper price and best of all get great export prices. Customer service has been amazing, explaining each questions answer clearly with the assistance to talk us through what we needed to do. Well done guys
A breath of fresh air, with a company that is allowing solar and battery installers to be rewarded for their investment. Other companies, have reduced solar input to 3 cents per kw, an insult. Looking forward to a mutually rewarding experience, where we are rewarded for our investment.
This is how life should be. I can control my own costs by controlling my own usage in real time. However, its not for everybody. If you want to minimize your electricity bill, and are prepared to modify your usage pattern to do it, then this for you. I have reduced my bill substantially with amber.

I switched over about a year ago and couldn’t be happier with them. The app lets me see the prices each hour and Amber sends alerts if the prices are spiking. AA+
Great service. I like it that using Amber encourages users to modify their usage, which saves them money and at the same time reduces peak demand loads on the grid. Good for the individual and good for the country.

Very important given prices are consistently high exposing NSW amber customers to what are unforeseen high prices extending over many hours.
The prices are testing customers resolve and I am hoping things get back to normal sooner rather than later..

Price Spikes almost every day during winter in VIC
Price Spikes are not rare at all, in fact during May/June they happened almost every day and much longer than the predictions suggested, meaning any savings you made by offsetting when you used power hungry appliances where lost. At one point it was impossible to use the electric stove during dinner times as the wholesale price was nearly always up in the 40-60c price range (and thats not even a spike, which is when they hit the $10-15 mark) So for anyone with any kind of life that uses electrical applicances its just not practical. If it was a rare occurance it would be ok, but its happened now on an almost daily basis for two months. It also seems to be much much worse during winter here in Victoria, in fact today, the price hasnt dropped below 32c. If we ever get a decent federal government that isnt so hell bent on coal and invests money into the grid it may get better, but I feel that this rate it will become more economical for households to run their own deisel generators than use the grid at peek
Everything from the sign-up process, billing, price alerts, (I love being able to save by using high-power consuming devices when prices are lower), and the ongoing communication is faultless and very refreshing, especially from an energy provider. Amber actually cares!
Mixed review
I was initially very happy with Amber as my energy provider, though am now considering leaving. My monthly bill has gone up considerably, and the solar feed-in tariffs has gone down, which is disappointing. Amber has been great to work with, always friendly and professional, but with solar panels on my home, and hoping to get more, perhaps they are not a good fit for me. Wish it was otherwise
