Been a tenant for 3 years. This situation has been extremely challenging, unprofessional, and discriminatory. Despite sending numerous emails to the office, particularly to an individual named Olivia Laycock MARLA, the Manager, my £2500 deposit has not been returned, and I have been denied a copy of the lease agreement. As a consumer and tenant in the UK, I am entitled to request a copy of the lease agreement and the return of my deposit. I have lodged a complaint with their Complaints Department, but have not received any response. I have made countless phone calls, only to be hung up on. My tenancy agreement ended in October 2024, yet I am being pressured to pay rent until March 2025, despite vacating the property in April 2024 and fulfilling my lease obligations until the end date. I have personally experienced bullying and disrespect, including an incident at their main office involving their main director, Mr. Chan, with Olivia providing cover for him. With no other recourse, I have resorted to legal action to recover my funds. I urge others to steer clear of these individuals, as they exhibit unprofessionalism, rudeness, and discrimination.

An absolute nightmare of an experience

An absolute nightmare of an experience. I would never recommend such unprofessional service to anyone. I was constantly chasing them for updates, as they showed no initiative or effort throughout the process. They confirmed in writing via email that my bid had been accepted and sent instructions for the next steps. I proceeded with AML checks, which I paid for, spoke to a solicitor, took a day off work, and arranged a meeting with a mortgage advisor—only to be told later that someone else had made a higher offer. Of course, a higher bid means a higher commission for them, so they handed it over to the other buyer without hesitation. Even after this, I received no communication from the Crewe agency. I sent several follow-up emails, all of which were ignored. In hindsight, I should have paid attention to their one-star Trustpilot reviews before dealing with them. Please, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Shambles whitegates

Whitegates estate agents Walton Vale unprofessional! I enquired a property to rent ( WALTON VALE LIVERPOOL ) via rightmove approx 2 weeks ago, phoned them up last week in which they took my details and said there should be viewings next week. Double checked Rightmove today and the property has been taken off! What a waste of space, the staff lack communication and customer skills, how they keep in business. If I failed my customer twice my line manager will be asking questions! Over looking a customer once is bad enough, but, a second time after a complaint has been there's something wrong and must be sorted before a third complaint goes in

Ridiculously High Rents

Sorry but where do you get some of the prices of some of your rents from? Looking at images of some of your properties available for rent and I'm shocked. £700pcm for a 2 bed terraced house with a room with no flooring, exposed pipes and decor that looks outdated even by 90s standards? We're not talking in a city centre here either we're talking a small town in West Yorkshire. £650pcm for a 1 bed house which again, has a room with no floors, white goods that are incredibly stained with tobacco, no wonder young people and families can't afford to move!

Very poor service

Very poor service, we made an appointment and nobody came to show it for us, the thing is that we made an appointment in a town that is 4 hours away from our house.

One star is too many

One star is too many. They allow tenants to move into filthy properties, don’t advocate for their tenants, allow landlords to harass you and illegally share your contact information and they steal your deposit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Lord/master Matt

Matt was brilliant from start to finish kept us updated at all times, went above and beyond to help us we have now settled in our new home and can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done and would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a mortgage or to purchase a house he’s the man to go to, Nathan, Natalie, Greg and Amaya :)

Very poor service and management we…

Very poor service and management we tolked today with some one I don’t know his name He behaved and spoke to us in an impolite way only because we asked him to speak with the lawyer that they impose on any seller or buyer. I am a buyer I am waiting for 8 weeks and I am a cash buyer and I still have been waiting. There was no reaction from their lawyer. My lawyer answered his questions. If I pledge allegiance to him, I will not deal with the whitegates even if it was only estate agent in the UK, I would have given it zero stars.

Crap

Crap. My partner was renting from these and had a leak in the roof from day one, never fixed it, had to chase them about it for the whole two years she was there and still didn't fix it right up to moving out. Also charged her till the 20th but we're forcing viewings on her weeks before that date. Wanted to do them while she was still in there. Cheeky, lazy and money grabbing is how I would describe them. Steer clear. Edit- Huddersfield branch Edit 2- Your records are as useless as your staff then. Try School Street.

Just sold a house through Whitegates…

Just sold a house through Whitegates West Derby Liverpool. Fantastic service from the start with Bernie’s visit to value the property, right through to completion. Kept in the loop every step of the way with regular updates from Lydia and Matt. Would definitely recommend and use their services in the future.

Literally unable to get a viewing on…

Literally unable to get a viewing on any of the properties in the Liverpool area that I'm trying to buy with them. The post the property and when I respond to get a viewing they don't seem to be able to have the time to show the property. It wouldn't be so bad if it were 1 property, but after 3 attempts I gave up. Aintree branch

Whitegates Nantwich very disappointing…

Whitegates Nantwich very disappointing service - had a house purchase fall through with them due to a survey down valuation and afterwards they failed to provide new options for us and failed to advise when the original house reduced its price due to the surveyor being correct. Beware all vendors - the original house is still on the market 4 months down the line and we are happily moved into our lovely new home - purchased via another agent in Nantwich.
