Been a tenant for 3 years

Been a tenant for 3 years. This situation has been extremely challenging, unprofessional, and discriminatory. Despite sending numerous emails to the office, particularly to an individual named Olivia Laycock MARLA, the Manager, my Β£2500 deposit has not been returned, and I have been denied a copy of the lease agreement. As a consumer and tenant in the UK, I am entitled to request a copy of the lease agreement and the return of my deposit. I have lodged a complaint with their Complaints Department, but have not received any response. I have made countless phone calls, only to be hung up on. My tenancy agreement ended in October 2024, yet I am being pressured to pay rent until March 2025, despite vacating the property in April 2024 and fulfilling my lease obligations until the end date. I have personally experienced bullying and disrespect, including an incident at their main office involving their main director, Mr. Chan, with Olivia providing cover for him. With no other recourse, I have resorted to legal action to recover my funds. I urge others to steer clear of these individuals, as they exhibit unprofessionalism, rudeness, and discrimination.

An absolute nightmare of an experience

An absolute nightmare of an experience. I would never recommend such unprofessional service to anyone. I was constantly chasing them for updates, as they showed no initiative or effort throughout the process. They confirmed in writing via email that my bid had been accepted and sent instructions for the next steps. I proceeded with AML checks, which I paid for, spoke to a solicitor, took a day off work, and arranged a meeting with a mortgage advisorβ€”only to be told later that someone else had made a higher offer. Of course, a higher bid means a higher commission for them, so they handed it over to the other buyer without hesitation. Even after this, I received no communication from the Crewe agency. I sent several follow-up emails, all of which were ignored. In hindsight, I should have paid attention to their one-star Trustpilot reviews before dealing with them. Please, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Whitegates estate agents Walton Vale unprofessional! I enquired a property to rent ( WALTON VALE LIVERPOOL ) via rightmove approx 2 weeks ago, phoned them up last week in which they took my details and said there should be viewings next week. Double checked Rightmove today and the property has been taken off! What a waste of space, the staff lack communication and customer skills, how they keep in business. If I failed my customer twice my line manager will be asking questions! Over looking a customer once is bad enough, but, a second time after a complaint has been there's something wrong and must be sorted before a third complaint goes in

AT
Ridiculously High Rents

Sorry but where do you get some of the prices of some of your rents from? Looking at images of some of your properties available for rent and I'm shocked. Β£700pcm for a 2 bed terraced house with a room with no flooring, exposed pipes and decor that looks outdated even by 90s standards? We're not talking in a city centre here either we're talking a small town in West Yorkshire. Β£650pcm for a 1 bed house which again, has a room with no floors, white goods that are incredibly stained with tobacco, no wonder young people and families can't afford to move!

Awful experience so far with Whitegates Broughton Astley

Awful experience so far with Whitegates Broughton Astley in my rental property. They are great when they want to get you in and get money out of you but once you're in the property you better pray everything is working because they are awful at fixing anything. I know people like to exaggerate on these reviews but 5 weeks, 8 phone calls and 5 emails to get a toilet that leaked all over the floor, freezer than wouldn't shut, siezed stopcock and broken window handle fixed is unacceptable. I'm now on just under 2 weeks since reporting an electric shower spraying water out from the inside with no resolution, it's been a week since their maintenance man came out and said it was very dangerous and not to use it. Oh that's not to mention that the upstairs windows are illegal as there's no safety catch on them and I have my young boy in one of the rooms. Basically these guys will promise call backs that never happen and you'll waste countless hours trying to get in contact with them - think twice before renting off them!

We looked at a property to buy

We looked at a property to buy, put in an offer. Either the vendor or Jim the estate agent lied and said there had been a family issue and someone needed to move into the property so the vendor hadn't considered our offer and he would get back to me with a update the next day. However no one has moved in and viewings are still happening, clearly trying to keep us on the hook while they wait for a bigger offer. No updates as promised and no need to lie

Shocking!!

I have recently advertised and hopefully sold my house with the Doncaster branch. I have experienced many difficulties and examples of a very poor organisation that I would like to bring to your attention. Due to the volume of concerns, I feel it best to bullet point them as a list. - When arranging a the valuation with Whitegates, I had requested that all contact be made with me via email. This is my personal preference of communication. Whitegates insisted on having a mobile number so I provided that of my boyfriends. He has no financial commitment to my house. He was contacted to organise the Valuation but was told that he would receive a phonecall to confirm the appointment. He did not receive this call so being the organised professionals that we are, we called your office to confirm. -Whitegates then sent my contacts to the wrong email address. I again chased this up. - When I signed the contracts via email, these were sent back to the address that I received them from. I did not hear anything about these contracts until I again contacted the office 4 days later. Hayley told me that she had not received the contract and asked me to email them directly to her. Again I did as requested but still did not hear anything from her. Again when I chased this up, this time putting in writing that I wanted to terminate any contract I had, Hayley then told me that she did in fact have the contracts but didn't realised. Eventually the house was on the market. - Next we get to the viewings. Despite a member of the team speaking to me several times on Friday to arrange a viewing for the following Tuesday (something I could not accommodate) the team decided to call the bf on the same day, whilst he was at work, to ask if he could accommodate the viewing of house. I can assure you that if either of us where able to accommodate a viewing then I would have informed them accordingly. - Now, on Saturday afternoon, I looked at our 'Portal' and noticed that a viewing had been arranged for Monday. Neither the bf or I are aware of this viewing and neither of us can accommodate it. I submitted an email through the Portal to raise this concern on Saturday afternoon. It is now Sunday evening and I have still not heard anything about the viewing tomorrow. I have spoken to a member of the team via your online 'chat' but Felicity was not able to help me and appeared to be more interested in selling me a property then helping me resolve this issue. I have also text and emailed Hayley asking for advise and support but it appears that she is out of the office until the 20th Aug. I therefore forwarded my email into your branch. Tomorrow I leave for work at 7:30. If there is a viewing then noone will be able to access the property as they do not have a key and even if you could, there will be a dog in the property as I have not arranged for her to be elsewhere. As I am sure you can tell from the above, it has not been a smooth experience with the Doncaster Branch. It is clear that the blame does not lie with a single person but unfortunately with what appears to be a very unorganised team of staff. If I did not think that my house will be very quick to sell, I would be using my 14 day 'cooling off' period and terminating my contract with the firm. I will not use them again and I would not recommend them to anyone. 28th Aug. Thank you for your response Whitegates but I worry that there has AGAIN been a miscommunication as my house did not sell on the second viewing as you have suggested in your reply. It did sell quickly but naturally you will understand that this is largely in part to the actual house and how it is presented. It may be worth a note, in case you want to speak to the office further that after the property was sold, I was copied in to an email to Whitegates from another estate agents complaining that they had been trying to contact the Doncaster branch several times for a few days without any success. This slowed the process of our sale and purchase. I have just counted the number of viewings we had and it was 9 in total. Perhaps Doncaster Whitegates has got our case mixed up with another house/family that had experienced difficulties.

I am writing about white gates in…

I am writing about white gates in bootle. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering selling their property! They sold my property within a matter of weeks with going with them and the manager James, Emma and the sales progressor Joanne could not have been more pleasant or helpful with all aspects of my sale, they keep in contact and are will to help at all times unlike some other estate agents who falsify the truth!!!! Also, they are less expensive than some estate agents!!!! I would have no hesitation in recommending them!!!

As a landlord, I called the office last week - Greg answered the phone and he was excellent. He understood what I was asking for and sorted it out the same day. Great service

Customer service non-existent

Customer service skills were non-existent. We were told "come on - be fair" when we were being charged Β£50 for a 10 minute job that was agreed we would do ourselves. Would definately put us off any property if they were listed with this company.
