Excellent introduction to water no matter how young your baby
The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.

Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Progressive and fun
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

The best start to swimming
We have been attending Water Babies with my daughter since she was 8 weeks old and now 2.5 years later she still loves it! Her water confidence is amazing and the skills she has learnt will set her up for life. The instructors and staff are all fantastic too and make you feel at ease.

Amazing Classes Run by Amazing People
We started swimming with our LO when she was 6 months old. Straight away we loved the experience of being in the water with her! The classes were well-paced and fun. The teachers have been welcoming and so willing to be aware of the needs and feelings of the individual child. At first our LO loved the water, but as she got bigger she became more nervous about being in the pool. This was never an issue for the teachers and they were always willing to go steadier with our LO, listening to what she needed. We've had several teachers over our time with Waterbabies, due to changes in our circumstances causing us to have to move pools. WaterBabies have always done their best to try and accomodate what we felt we needed - helping us to find lessons that worked with LOs nap times and meal times. Though we are having to stop going to Waterbabies for now due to our own individual circumstances, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a swimming class for their little ones!

Rude teacher
Rude teacher, poor facilities and same thing every week. I joined the Nuffield Friern Barnet water babies but I ultimately left because I found the tutor Carmel to be rude and occasionally passive aggressive. She forced my son to change his outfit when he was crying and had a go at me for not wanting to immerse my head underneath the water saying I have 2 strikes left. What should have been a fun experience has left me and my son traumatised beyond repair. Also they make you pay one extra month if you want to cancel! No changing facilities for babies either - just a repetitive boring walking around in circles every week. Also spoke to other mums that left they all mentioned it was because of the tutor including my friend Charlotte who said she bullied her too.

Great classes and team!
My son loved the classes! They were so interactive and paced really well so he didn't become overwhelmed and eased into being in and under the water. The communication is great and its always easy to get in touch with someone. The team are also so helpful and were able to quickly arrange a catch up session when we had to miss one due to holiday plans. Would highly recommend - just wish the classes were longer as he loved them so much!

I honestly can’t say enough good things about our swimming lessons—they are the highlight of our week! Watching my baby learn such an important life skill fills me with pride, and getting back into a swimsuit after pregnancy has really boosted my confidence. Most of all, it’s such a joyful, special time to bond with my beautiful little girl. Every lesson is filled with laughter, love, and memories I’ll cherish forever. I’m so grateful we get to share this experience together! Amber is such an awesome instructor

Hannie is the best!
I have had a number of interactions with Water Babies over the last few years but I must admit that our latest teacher Hannie has been amazing, she really is incredible at what she does, she has such care, patience and passion for teaching little ones to swim. Thank you for everything you have done for Hattie and Bea. I have also got to give Claudia a shoutout for always having the highest level of customer service and care dealing with queries!
