Lake Garda Tour - Disappointed

Our first Titan trip. The collection from home/return transport worked well, even though we didn't know the transport would be shared. This was not made clear on booking. The Hotel du Lac was clean and functional and not 4* in our opinion. The biggest let down was the food. We made it very clear on the booking, in the pre-trip WhatsApp group and on arrival that we are vegetarians. This appeared alien to the restaurant manager unfortunately. We ate out 3 nights as we couldn't face the pedestrian food. Italy is one of the best cuisines for non meat eaters but sadly Chef appeared to favour frozen veggie patties and tinned vegetables. Yuk. An oddity was having to order dinner at breakfast and always sit in the same place. Never experienced that before anywhere in the world. The Titan tour guide was very scatty and disorganised. She often changed group instructions/meet up points which confused people. Sadly I don't think she had ever been to the region before. She didn't know a great deal and whilst she was Italian, her command of English did not meet our expectations. On arrival at the airport, rather than a general welcome to the region and introduction to the tour, she spent the time reading from a folder telling us how much it costs to buy water at the hotel and on the bus. Each evening she would send a long cut and paste information message on WhatsApp giving details about the next day's trip. It would've been far better to have a knowledgeable guide who knows the area and who can speak about this face-to-face. Not impressed to be honest. On the day trip to Venice, she said on the bus 'well you will all know more about the place than me'?! That just about sums up the trip. She was however, kind and supportive to the elderly single passengers and provided chummy companionship. We weren't looking for that, we expected a first class Tour Manager who added value beyond the basics. We have just booked another trip later this year, a long haul trip to Africa, and we decided against Titan sorry.

I have just spoken to a marvellous man named Chandan, regarding my booking. He was extremely helpful and patient with me and talked my through all the stages to book my seat. I am extremely grateful for his help and his gentle manner.

We have travelled with Titan twice before and cannot fault their service so far. After their amalgamation with Saga, we are doing a cruise and hope their service will be just as good

Poor Booking Procedure

As a previously satisfied customer of Titan, it pains me to write this review, but I have never been so disappointed and disillusioned by their booking procedure and disregard of customer service. On 21 June, I made an initial enquiry on the Magnificent Turkey Tour, and received the details requested via an email the same day. The following Monday I rang again to change the dates of the tour and to request the cost of hotel stays at Gatwick before and after the holiday. I was told they would ring me back. The following week produced nothing but broken promises about ring backs, so on 28th June, I sent an email expressing my dissatisfaction that the process had taken so long and I was no further forward in getting a booking made. I have since received two phone calls when I was out, resulting in more promises of ring backs. Needless to say this hasn't happened and I've had no response to my email 3 weeks down the line from the initial enquiry. As a customer who was willing to spend good money with this company, I resent and refuse to continue to have to chase up their staff. I think Titan need to appreciate that they are operating in a very crowded market space. We have many other choices in the holiday market and there are many other companies who would be more than willing to appreciate potential customers and even go out of their way to secure their business. After such an experience we will not be progressing this any further as we have lost our faith and confidence in Titan being able to produce an enjoyable and efficient tour.

FANTASTIC TRIP AND DODGY JOKES

We have just returned from our tour of the West Coast of America with Alex our tour guide entertaining us along the way with jokes video's music and so much more. Our band of happy travellers experienced so much along the way. The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Vegas, The Hoover Dam , Hollywood, San Francisco and Alcatraz to name just a few. The hotels were superb and even though it was a full on busy tour we enjoyed every single minute of our holiday of a lifetime. Alex was so organised and full of information and dodgy jokes that he made the trip so very enjoyable. Thank you Alex and thank you Daniel our driver much love from Curly and Diane

The Hidden Treasures of Sardinia

Our recent Titan Tour "The Hidden Treasures of Sardinia" was disappointing. The hotels were unsuitable (too much like business hotels in dreary locations), there was too much free time in uninteresting places and the hidden treasures were so well hidden we couldn't find them! We expected a lot more from Sardinia, but this tour failed to reach our expectations and consequently, probably left a lot of the island unexplored that we could have seen during our holiday. We are great fans of eating out when we are abroad, however the locations we stayed at on this tour didn't really provide much in the line of easily accessible choice when it came to looking for a meal outside the hotel. We did have a couple of excellent included meals at Agritourisimos (farms that cater for tourists), but other than that, the hotel food was mediocre. This started out as a reasonably expensive holiday compared to other similar tours we've done over the years, but then when you add the cost of providing quite a few lunches and dinners ourselves made this quite a costly holiday compared with what we actually got for our money. On a big plus side we had a fabulous tour manager called Thomas (Tom). Tom was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and always willing to help.

Jewel Of Sicily but Titan is not

Jewel Of Sicily: interesting trip with plenty of sights to see on our tour, Good Tour Manager and good driver. However Titan's customer service leaves so much to be desired and replies to emails are non existent. Originally booked to tour the Mighty Mississippi in the deep south of America the trip was cancelled as the Paddle boat company had collapsed (Not Titan's fault whatsover) we changed to the trip to Sicily and Titan had amazing difficulty in changing the tour with an amazing number of errors on our documentation which I had to identify for correction. According to the final documentation for the tour Aircraft seats were allocated to us but on arriving at Heathrow that was not the case !! Some issues with the customer survey were also identified to Titan by Email, together with some issues with two of the hotels + an 'included dinner' but to date I've not had an acknowledgement from Titan that my email has been received etc. This lack of communication from Titan Customer services also applies to a 'complaint' email I sent in March wrt the American Deep South tour and how this was handled. Perhaps more staff need to employed by Titan to address customer issues?? Thanks for the prompt reply Nick, but 10 working days since your reply there has still been no contact / communication from Titan Customer Service

I now only travel with Titan

I now only travel with Titan. I travel on my own and they pick me up from home and look after me until they return me home. Their tours are amazing. They are so good I have another 3 tours booked in advance. Their customer service is also great. I always use their call back service so they ring me back when it is my turn in the queue. Their staff are super helpful and friendly.
