Extremely frustrating booking experience and no support

I had a terrible experience trying to book a SunExpress ticket for my father. I used my American Express card, which their website claims is accepted, but the payment failed twice—yet I was still charged both times. Each time I got an error message saying, “There was a problem with the payment registration,” and no ticket was issued. I contacted their customer service over web chat, and they just told me to try again or wait for a refund within 10 business days—no urgency, no real help. The second time I tried to book, the ticket price had increased, and to make matters worse, AmEx still didn’t work, so I ended up having to use a different card just to secure the ticket. In the end, I called them directly, hoping that could solve the issue faster and I could get the ticket from the original price I first paid, but they said they only make bookings with a Visa or Master card. SunExpress offered no compensation or price adjustment for their system failure. Very disappointed. A simple ticket booking should not take two hours of your time!

The worst experience with Sun Express

Sun Express sayesinde hayatimda ilk defa 2 kücük cocukla 2 saat boyunca check-in sirasinda beklemis oldum. Sira bize gelince online check-in yapmadigimiz icin ücret talep ettiler. Bana gönderdikleri linkten defalarca check-in yapmayi denedigim halde check-in yapamamistim oysa. Ücret ödemeyi kabul ettim ama bu sefer kredi karti onaylanmadi ve nakit ödeme yapamayacagimi söylediler ve ucagin kapanmak üzere oldugunu söyleyip beni iki kücük cocuk ve valizlerle ödeme yapmam icin baska yere gönderdiler. Ordandan ödemeyi yapinca tekrar ilk sirada durdugumuz yere valizleri vermemiz icin geri gönderdiler. Iki saat sirada beklememizin nedenini ucaklarin cok olmasina bagladilar 😂 “All international flights” yerine Diger ülkeler gibi sehir sehir check-in yapsaniz hem bu kadar Sira olmaz hem de dolmusa müsteri arayan muavin gibi “Duabi passengeeers??” “Hannover passangeeers?” Diye ortaliklarda gezmek zorunda kalmazsiniz. Sanki sorunca da oralara gidecek yolculara faydaniz oluyor. Umarim siz de diger ülkeler gibi yakinda bir sistem ve düzene Sahip olursunuz. Bir de 522 numarali kasanin Yaninda oturan örgülü sakalli ukala görevliniz yanlis is secmis. Insanlari hem olmayacak kadar strese sokup hem de yolcunuz ucaga yetismek zorunda oldugunu aciklamaya calisirken insani azarlayamazsiniz!

SunExpress beeindruckt mich immer mehr. Ich habe heute, dank blödem Autofill meines Browsers, bei mir und meinem Partner den gleichen Namen gehabt. Ich habe kurzerhand direkt bei SunExpress angerufen und wurde sehr freundlich begrüßt, in klarem Deutsch und sehr lösungsorientiert und beruhigend. Der Herr entschuldigte sich vielmals, mich hat warten zu lassen (das waren vielleicht 90 Sekunden) und kam mit einer guten und schlechten Nachricht. Die schlechte, der Name ließe sich nicht ändern aber die gute, er storniert die Buchung einfach und ich kann neu buchen. Einfach zuvorkommend und kulant. So stelle ich mir das vor. Achja, dann war ich im Laufe des Tages nochmal im Chat, weil ich für unser Kleinkind ein Babybett haben wollte. Die Chatpartnerin Merve war ebenfalls sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Nicht 0815 Textbausteinmäßig wie bei Am---on oder ähnlichen. Daher heute vollste Zufriedenheit dank dieser zwei wundervollen Mitarbeiter. Macht bitte so weiter. Mich habt ihr als Reisegast gebunden ♥

Very poor service at SunExpress.

Very poor service at SunExpress. 1. online check in does not work on the outward and return flight, which wastes time as you have to phone back and forth. 2. flew once to Turkey and back, both flights were delayed. 3. if you transport over 5 million German holidaymakers to Turkey every year then the flight attendants should also make German and Turkish announcements on the plane, not English. All in all a very bad airline.

Small Improvement Needed

Overall I was happy with my first experience of Sun Express, what stopped it from getting a 5 star review was the app not being able to add the boarding pass to my wallet, the fact you check in online but then don’t have dedicated bag drop areas which then has you waiting in long queues to drop your case off and be handed a boarding pass. If these can be addressed then it’ll be spot on and the cabin crew and staff were all great and the planes were nice and clean too.

I have travelled with sun express…

I have travelled with sun express multiple times and always had a positive experience. Booking is simple, check in also a straight forward process. My flights have always been on time and no issues. I would highly recommend as they are also good value for money compared to other airlines.

Sunexpress has to be the worst airline…

Sunexpress has to be the worst airline I have ever flown with, there booking system is terrible, the app dosnt load properly, so to get the information you need, depends whether you can actually get on it, and to be honest you shouldn't have to spend the time your on holiday trying to get information and boarding passes for your flight home, it should all be completed before you go, I also paid extra for seating on the plane as I didn't want my kids splitt up, this was not allocated and my 4 year old child was put next to complete strangers, I informed the hostess and they didn't seem bothered, so much for stranger danger on this airline, as it happend a very nice gentleman offered to swap places for me, I was appalled and will be putting in a formal complaint for a full refund, will never use this airline again.

yaklaşık olarak 30 yıldır uçarım sanırım bu kadar eski ve kötü koltuklarda hiç uçmamıştım daha önce. XQ143 FRA-AYT 28/07/2025 tarihinde saat 19:40 uçağı şu ana kadar yaşadığım ve maalesef aileminde yanımda olduğu en rahatsız uçuş idi. koltuk seçimi için para verdim ve oturduğum koltuklar hep arkaya doğru yatıyordu. hem benim hem de ailemin. 20A,B ve C koltukları. yaklaşık 4 saatlik uçuşu diken üstünde geçirmiş gibi oldum. SUNEXPRESS gibi hem THY hem de Lufthansa gibi iki büyük şirketin ortaklığına hiç mi hiç yakışmadı. bakım ve onarımların yapılmaması ayrı bir skandal. bunlar ilaveten koltuklarda sanki hiç sünger yokmuş gibi direk demirleri de hissediliyordu. yakışmadı hiç size

Overall decent

Start with the good flight on time, decent comfort and leg room for a budget flight cabin crew very professional Bad paid for the priority, baggage ticket machine wasn’t working ( tbf Manchester airports fault I’d have thought) but instead of sorting us out first at the other check in pushed us aside to wait, said we were garanteeted to get our bags off the reclaim first didn’t even priority tag one bag and tag was missing off the other when we eventually got them about last off the belt! It’s a shame because would have been a 5* review if we had got the extra we paid for. Saying that overall wouldn’t stop me booking with them again just wouldn’t pay the extra
