UK Drivers Beware
A warning to all UK Drivers. This car rental company provides cheap car rentals but use excuses like Brexit to charge you hidden fees that they claim you need or the car would not be legal on the roads, the headoffice is impossible to contact and they never return any emails or phone calls. Do Not Use! You Have been Warned.

Organised criminals masquerading as a rental company
Similar experience to many other reviews on here. Disgusting company who deliberately set out to scam customers out of huge sums of money. Rented a car for one evening to pick up an elderly relative. Dropped off next day after a short uneventful drive but no one manning desk to sign-off return and I had a flight to catch so told to put keys in dropbox. One week later €3000 is taken from my credit card for supposed damage to the car. Company's 'evidence' is three extreme close up photos of a couple of miniscule grazes (~0.5cm long) on the inside rim of a wheel and a small 1cm black mark on a wheel arch. No indication of when these photos were taken or even what vehicle they came from. Luckily I took videos before and after the hire clearly showing that the scratches on the wheel already existed prior to rental and that the mark on the arch definitely wasn't present when we dropped the car off. Despite the time and date stamp being clearly visible on all screengrabs taken from these videos, the company responded 6 weeks later to say that as they can't personally 'access the metadata underlying the photos' it means we have no proof of when they were taken and they will be keeping the money. Have started dispute with credit company and will pursue in court if it comes to it.

There was no car available
I booked online and made a down payment. When we arrived at VIE airport, no one came to pick us up (as advertised). After multiple attempts to reach someone from the company (tried to call and waited for about 45 mins) they finally sent me a message and said that they don't have any cars available. They didn't give me a refund. So, lost money and had to find a last minute alternative. As you can imagine, we were pretty upset.

Scam stay away from this Company
I hired a car via Opodo with a company called Panek for a long weekend in Poland. Upon arrival, I was asked if I had an international driving license. I said no, as I hold a full UK driving license. I was informed that the rules had changed recently and that without an international license, I would need to purchase their full insurance for them to release the car. I called Opodo, through whom I had rented the car, and they were surprised to hear this. It turns out that only Panek has changed their rules and charge more extra insurance without international driving licence at the point of collection. Opodo advised me to rent a car from another company, which I did without needing an international driving license. While I had to pay again, Opodo assured me they would refund the cost of the new rental. Panek’s practices are a massive scam, and their customer service is non-existent. Stay away, or you could face a nasty surprise on arrival.

Ja nie wiem skąd biorą się te negatywne opinie. Akceptują prawo jazdy z UK, nawet jak ma się prawko poniżej roku. Owszem trzeba wykupić pełną ochronę, ale kto tego nie robi potem cierpi. Raz auto przestało mi działać, przywieźli nowe, co prawda po kilku godzinach, ale wszystko załatwione sprawnie. Obsługa miła. Jedyny zgrzyt to teraz brak dostępnych Fiatów 500, które lubię, a na stronie nadal są.

Nie wieder, man ist ausgeliefert!
Nie wieder, man ist der Willkür ausgeliefert. Vorsicht: im Mietvertrag steht im Anhang und kleingedruckt, dass man den Wagen sauber zurückgeben muss. Das ist ein dehnbarer Begriff. Und es ist auch nicht üblich in Westeuropa. 3 oder 4 Wochen nach Rückgabe vom Auto wurden uns 160 Euro über die Kreditkarte abgebucht ohne Begründung. Auf unsere Anfrage, telefonisch und per email, wurde nicht reagiert. Über unsere Bank haben wir das Geld zurückgeholt. Kurz darauf haben wir ein Schreiben von einer litauischen Inkassofirma bekommen. Wir haben Widerspruch eingelegt. Jetzt muss die Firma einen europäischen Zahlungsbefehl beantragen. Dazu muss sie aber eine Rechnung über 160 Euro vorlegen. Und dann können wir wieder Einspruch einlegen.

Avoid Pane, rip off
I've rented the car in Riga aeroport for one day. After I dropped the car off I received claim for car cleaning for 175 Euro after two weeks. I provided the video evidence of the clean car but they took off the money from my account anyway. This company is pure rip off! Avoid to rent the car from Panek!!! When they email they don't leave any name and don't provide evidence.

Nie daj się nabrać.
Avoid this company. It's a scam. After I return undamaged car back to them, I received an invoice for eleged damages which is not true. I've been charged AUD 1500 despite the fact that pre authorisation was only for AUD 1150. I hope MC will be able to reverse this transaction. They offer cheap rentals and make up the difference by taking your deposit. I was offered full coverage for PLN800 which was more than twice amount of money that I paid for the rental. Now my credit card is blocked to avoid further unauthorised charges. Surly you do not need that when you are on holidays.
