The Worst Training Experience

I was having a Cisco Datacenter training with Netcom and it was the worst experience I ever had. Trainer was just reading the slides without putting any extra effort to explain things. No whiteboards, no extra materials for better understanding of concepts, didn't know where to emphasize and where to skim fast, no student engagement, he was just reading everything in the same neutral pace just for the sake of completing the formality of the training. The class became so exhausting and boring that even the trainer was yawning during his own lecture. It was a total waste of money and time.

Aggressive confirmation emails and…

Aggressive confirmation emails and calls disrupting my work day. The buttons to reschedule do not work through the UI - must email customer service. Then must speak with someone over the phone the reschedule before they send an email with dates. The labs are not up to date with changes in the Microsoft UI. If a button name has changed or Microsoft moved something, the instructions are for old information. The labs are inconsistent between courses. Some provide great detail. Others are vague or missing information. It’s not a great experience using Netcom. This is not for one class in particular but over time.

Interview…

I recently went through the interview process with NetCom Learning.I found the experience to be somewhat misleading. After completing two assignments and two interviews, I was informed that they were not moving forward. While I understand that not every process leads to an offer, clearer communication upfront would have been appreciated.

Mandatory Training Turned into an Advanced Class, Amazing Trainers

Had an experience getting mandatory training with them for a migration (AWS to Azure), and the trainer was amazing at explaining everything, could apply the learnings very easily, getting an advanced lesson out of my own pocket.

Fraud

Fraud, beware of this company, they will send unsolicited invites to their training classes. If you accept that calendar invite you are basically accepting a $200 fee if you don't show up. Stay away from this company and DON'T open these phishing scams.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. The instructor only lectured for 2 hours a day and did not coordinate his lectures with material in the book so you had to hunt for what was being covered in class in the reading material. The labs had nothing to do with the lectures and were point and click, teaching nothing. The slides used by the instructor were not the slides provided on the CompTIA website and when asked for the slides that were used they were never provided. This training was an absolute waste of time.
