I recently finished a 4-month course "Data Science – AI/ML No-Code Tools" from Great Learning (MIT), and it was even better than I expected. The course is designed for professionals, including those in leadership roles, and is accessible even to individuals without a coding background. It was well-structured and easy to follow. It included video lessons you can watch at your own pace, live sessions with mentors to clear doubts, and hands-on practice using tools like RapidMiner and KNIME. There were also lots of real-life examples to help apply what you learn. The content was great, everything ran smoothly, and the program coordinators were very supportive. I highly recommend it!
The course is well designed, challenging and definitely covers a great deal of content. Though quick paced, the projects give us real world problems and good experience solving them. I am enjoying the course, with a sense of accomplishment as I move forward with every module!
It covered all the fundamentals from data science to deep learning, followed up by a rich set of projects/tasks that puts yout knowledge to work.

This Applied Data Science and AI for Decision Making is more like a Masters semester course. The course has been structured to have a balance of academics and real life practical experiences with professional in the field. You have to be very prepared to take in this program, it is not something you just come into and collect certification, the curriculum, the tutorials and the live lectures are all designed to give students the opportunity to learn and focus on further research. The closing projects are more like a full blown dissertation. You’re going to be taken out of your comfort zone and focus on both the classroom and reading assignments to give the best of yourself as a student.

UT Austin AIML certificate program. Poor experience. No readily available support channel through UT Austin. No way to get issues resolved. Very inconsistent policies and follow through. Technical challenges with the program. Disorganized. Poor course support. Paused the program. Attempted to resume. Very lengthy process. Only way to communicate to restart was via scheduled phone call at times convenient for India. Schedule is busy so it took weeks to schedule. Program advisor says I can resume at no cost. Says I won’t have a deadline. I agree to restart. Nothing happens. Promised emails are not sent. I have to schedule another call again weeks later. Am told it will restart. Eventually I am told I have access but their system is messed up. I can see prior courses but cannot do anything with them. This issue continues for 3, THREE months! I could have started and completed a different program in this time. This started in October 2024 well before the winter holidays, didn’t get resolved until late January 2025. I had missed an extended window of time I could have worked on it. I had been told via phone, that there was no deadline. I ended up in a job search and starting a new job and couldn’t restart immediately. Late February I try to work on the course only to find out that had placed an expiration date and again I was locked out of the program! They contact me to resume. Again scheduling weeks later. When I complained to their office via email their response now says they want $500 and doesn’t address any of my questions. In summary, this is a poor program mostly, all online learning no real instructors. Few people who understand what is attempted at being taught. It is run haphazardly with changing advisors every time, with exceptionally poor contact. You’re much better off doing online courses for AI through more reputable organizations. Looks into program at Stanford or UC Berkeley. Google programs. In summary this course is poorly run, hard to get UT Austin to stand behind it.

Generative AI for Business with MSFT Azure OpenAI Program I recently completed the Generative AI for Business course with MSFT Azure OpenAI Program from Great Learning, and I am thoroughly impressed. The course was exceptionally well-planned, and the materials provided were incredibly useful. The instructors, who hailed from top industries, brought their hands-on experience to the table, explaining concepts clearly and training us practically in AI, machine learning, and Generative AI. The online portal was another highlight, featuring a user-friendly dashboard where all course materials and extra resources were easily accessible. The events, alerts, and notifications were well-prepared, keeping us informed and engaged throughout the learning journey. Overall, I am very satisfied with the course and feel well-prepared to apply the knowledge and skills gained in my professional endeavors. I appreciate the effort put into designing and delivering this course. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide more case studies or project-based assignments to further enhance practical learning and ensure consistent scheduling to help participants plan their attendance better.

I attended Great Learning's "Applied Data Science Program: Leveraging AI for Effective Decision-Making." Such courses weren't offered back in my college days and in today's fast paced world the state of the art of AI is rapidly changing. I desired to upskill my knowledge and obtain certification as well as a public portfolio of advanced projects to demonstrate my capabilities. The curriculum is up to the moment, comprehensive and allows for some personal focus for interest and depth. It also begins with optional pre-courses to ensure all students are prepared with pre-requisites. For major projects GL offers two tracks, either low code, management level programs or full code-oriented deliverables. You can also focus on an area of interest, although the total options are limited in each area. Each course is about a week with live lectures on theory in each machine learning arena from world-class MIT professors. The most valuable portion was the weekly mentorship with industry professionals. They not only provided guidance on the homework but were a wealth of practical knowledge and career-relevant tips. It was particularly useful to watch an AI professional respond to a question in real-time by accessing the resources they use themselves. I frequently used the recorded lectures and professional sessions in addition to complete attendance of all live sessions. This is a time intensive set of courses which I estimate at 20+ hours per week for complete understanding of the materials. I found it easiest to follow each course linearly, downloading the resources locally for cross-reference. The quizzes for each week were a bit light, and easily aced from the provided materials, but the projects were quite challenging and really developed your skills. In addition to the core materials, there was a generous quantity of additional courses and information with in-depth examples. Timing for courses was difficult for west coast US, with early classes and mentorships commonly starting between 5:30am to 6:30am M/W/F/Sat/Sun, and 1a Tuesday morning due dates. Support was available, friendly and very flexible in my case. I worked with my PM to change cohorts to fit with my work schedule and to allow for planned travel. They were particularly flexible when I had extended out time for illness during the Capstone project period. I had expected to really hone my machine learning capabilities but left with a real appreciation and understanding for neural network deep learning. I now feel comfortable stretching my professional interests into areas that I hadn't considered before such as medical research, natural language processing and computer vision. I highly recommend this program to those desiring a broad relevant skillset in AI problem solving, at a value price point, accomplishable in just a few intense months.
