Halford takes advantage

My break light fault alarm came on my dashboard. It's a difficult time at the moment and it was an extra problem I didn't need. I saw a Halford Shop and knew they did small jobs so went in to ask if they could change the bulb. They said yes and that it would take 15 mins. I came back 15 mins later and they advised me to change all 4 bulbs, two on each sides, as it was best. I took their advice. It took a further 5 mins. It came to £48.98. I thought it was a lot but presumed the bills bulbs were expensive. They offered me a free MOT (I use my trusted garage so declined) or to take my details and give me £5 off which I took. The bill would be emailed to me so I didn't get to see it there and then. When I saw the bill I couldn't believe the costs - the bulbs were £4.99 for two, so inexpensive ... their labour was £11 PER BULB changed!! No wonder they didn't just want to change the one broken bulb, but 3 more! I know I should have asked the costs and checked, but I didn't expect Halfords to completely take advantage. Won't be using them again!

I made a complaint about halfords since…

I made a complaint about halfords since June 20th 2025 and no one has contacted me like they promised...I bought a dashcam online and arranged for it to be installed via Halford in Catford .Unfortunately the dashcam wasn't compatible with the app and I decided I would like to change dashcam.I arranged an appointment to have the dashcam taken out of my car to be returned and planned to discuss an upgrade.A minute before I arrived my appt.i was told that I cannot return dashcam because it was used.At no point was I advised about this and the manager at catford refused to discuss with me.Ive made several phone calls to customer services who assured me that matter would be Investigated and someone will in touch...no one has..I'm still waiting...as far as I'm concerned Halford is the worst company to deal with when you want query or make a complaint. When they have your money they don't care My case no. is Halfords Customer Services: 26479136 ...I've rang sent emails to no avail...this company is rotten to the core. I will be submitting notes everyday until something is sorted..I will not stop

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years…

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years ago from the edge lane Liverpool Halfords on the ride to work system the person who sold me the bike told me while the bike was being built it’s a bit of a crap bike as it is one of the cheaper models 🤔 they have and was trying to dupe me into buying a seven hundred to a thousand pound bike so he’d get more commission 🤨 on the sale lucky I know sales tactics he also told me I wouldn’t go on any big rides because it was such a rubbish bike 😒 funny that as I ride most weekends the furthest I’ve been from Liverpool upto now on my cheap bike Delamere forest all round Chester and wales not bad for a crap bike 😃 anyway finally the back wheel started grinding as I know a bit of bike maintenance myself it turned out to be the ball bearings in the spindle so called Halfords to see if they have my wheel in stock and was told yes thought great stuff got to the Halfords on edge lane asked about the wheel got told oh no we don’t stock that we do for the expensive bikes but not yours then got told try Quinn’s down the road they sent me to the competitor also by the way they don’t do the wheel I need😞 so had to rely on Amazon to save the day got the wheel I needed fitted it I’m back on the road again 😁 how can a bike shop sell you a bike but not have the parts in stock to fix it ridiculous practice whatever happened to the customer is always right if I what an expensive bike I’ll buy one not get sales bullied into it Halfords you need to send your staff on a training course to learn not to bully customers into buying bike they don’t want or need also learn them to offer advice in a better manner I was very disappointed in the Halfords experience this much 😞🤨🧐😔☹️😟😕😠🤔

Dashcam

I would like to say thank you to the young guy that fitted my sons dash cam in his citroen on Tuesday. I'm sorry I can't remember his name but he's very knowledgeable, polite,friendly and helpful. Gave a full check of the car, and the dash cam looks like it has been factory fitted,many thanks he is a credit to your store.

Do not get dashcam fitted by them

Bought dashcam for son paid for Halfords fitting and broke his windscreen denied it although crack inside all way down from dashcam half way down. Said never happened before an refused to sort it.. 4wks and 3 visits and numerous calls to contact centre (only number you can ring) I’m end confirmed with national windscreens definitely from dashcam trading standards involved and surprise then agreed to refund if we paid for it to be done. National windscreens did it with dashcam and covered for a year! Shame on Halfords although their loss as we spend £1.5k a year on all our cars servicing and mots not no more as they don’t honour warranties !! 😞 😳

I visited Halfords in the Westway…

I visited Halfords in the Westway Retail Park in Cumbernauld this morning as I got a tyre warning light on my dashboard. I can’t tell you how great your staff are there; William and Billy sorted the problem for me straight away and carried out a Summer car check for me, too! I was absolutely delighted! Last winter I had a Winter Car Check done there by Cameron (£15). That too was excellent service and well worth the money. Thank you Halfords x

Very Slow Staff

I went to the Farnborough Gate shop to look at and, possibly, buy a new car radio. The choice is very limited but I picked one out that I wanted a closer inspection of. I approached a member of staff who said that they would get someone to help me. I waited quite some time before a person came to help me. I showed him the radio I was interested in and asked if I could have a closer look. He then ignored my request and rambled on about what other items I would need to instal it. I then asked again if I could have a closer look. He then said he would get one for me to look at. He disappeared and, after a while, never reappeared. I gave up at that point and left.

despicable online service

Absolutely despicable online customer support, they tell you they understand you, but they have no clue. They tell you that Halfords in-store will do things they cannot do. They tell you they pass details on for customer service to call back, never get a call back... So what's the point in this team?

Excellent customer service

Fixed my car which had been developing some issues due to its age and wear and tear. I had a brilliant service by ashley and Jonathan from Sheffield Hillsborough garage. We were trying to resolve an issue with the car as there was a damaged suspension rod that had caused concern. Ashley gave me his full assurance to get my car checked over, and manage to get the gearbox oil which had been leaking and he made sure the seal was replaced, along with an alignment issue that had developed. The staff customer service was outstanding and I was made to feel listened to and that they were taking my concerns seriously, thank you guys for being great.

I paid for a major service which last…

I paid for a major service which last for 24 months, it also states they will replace the oil filter. which I find out today 24 months later, my oil filter was never replaced after paying £285.99. So I paid for a service and have been driving round with my oil filter not changed. Will never book a major service with this company again. Total scam go to a proper garage
