Halford takes advantage

My break light fault alarm came on my dashboard. It's a difficult time at the moment and it was an extra problem I didn't need. I saw a Halford Shop and knew they did small jobs so went in to ask if they could change the bulb. They said yes and that it would take 15 mins. I came back 15 mins later and they advised me to change all 4 bulbs, two on each sides, as it was best. I took their advice. It took a further 5 mins. It came to £48.98. I thought it was a lot but presumed the bills bulbs were expensive. They offered me a free MOT (I use my trusted garage so declined) or to take my details and give me £5 off which I took. The bill would be emailed to me so I didn't get to see it there and then. When I saw the bill I couldn't believe the costs - the bulbs were £4.99 for two, so inexpensive ... their labour was £11 PER BULB changed!! No wonder they didn't just want to change the one broken bulb, but 3 more! I know I should have asked the costs and checked, but I didn't expect Halfords to completely take advantage. Won't be using them again!

I made a complaint about halfords since…

I made a complaint about halfords since June 20th 2025 and no one has contacted me like they promised...I bought a dashcam online and arranged for it to be installed via Halford in Catford .Unfortunately the dashcam wasn't compatible with the app and I decided I would like to change dashcam.I arranged an appointment to have the dashcam taken out of my car to be returned and planned to discuss an upgrade.A minute before I arrived my appt.i was told that I cannot return dashcam because it was used.At no point was I advised about this and the manager at catford refused to discuss with me.Ive made several phone calls to customer services who assured me that matter would be Investigated and someone will in touch...no one has..I'm still waiting...as far as I'm concerned Halford is the worst company to deal with when you want query or make a complaint. When they have your money they don't care My case no. is Halfords Customer Services: 26479136 ...I've rang sent emails to no avail...this company is rotten to the core. I will be submitting notes everyday until something is sorted..I will not stop

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years…

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years ago from the edge lane Liverpool Halfords on the ride to work system the person who sold me the bike told me while the bike was being built it’s a bit of a crap bike as it is one of the cheaper models 🤔 they have and was trying to dupe me into buying a seven hundred to a thousand pound bike so he’d get more commission 🤨 on the sale lucky I know sales tactics he also told me I wouldn’t go on any big rides because it was such a rubbish bike 😒 funny that as I ride most weekends the furthest I’ve been from Liverpool upto now on my cheap bike Delamere forest all round Chester and wales not bad for a crap bike 😃 anyway finally the back wheel started grinding as I know a bit of bike maintenance myself it turned out to be the ball bearings in the spindle so called Halfords to see if they have my wheel in stock and was told yes thought great stuff got to the Halfords on edge lane asked about the wheel got told oh no we don’t stock that we do for the expensive bikes but not yours then got told try Quinn’s down the road they sent me to the competitor also by the way they don’t do the wheel I need😞 so had to rely on Amazon to save the day got the wheel I needed fitted it I’m back on the road again 😁 how can a bike shop sell you a bike but not have the parts in stock to fix it ridiculous practice whatever happened to the customer is always right if I what an expensive bike I’ll buy one not get sales bullied into it Halfords you need to send your staff on a training course to learn not to bully customers into buying bike they don’t want or need also learn them to offer advice in a better manner I was very disappointed in the Halfords experience this much 😞🤨🧐😔☹️😟😕😠🤔

The Shrewsbury store has no cycling shorts for women. Pretty poor in this day and age. Almost offended to be honest.

Great customer service I went into the Barnsley store to buy some oil for my mini , I was stuck which one to buy there was loads to choose from . I asked a lady called a Leah for help she went above and beyond to help me .

Redditch branch DS3

After ordering front brake pads for my Ds3,the wrong ones were delivered. My model has upgraded brake pads. The effort that Nigel went to ,to ensure I had the correct ones was above and beyond what I expected. Redditch branch, Nigel extremely helpful. Thanks.

Awful experience with mobile tyre…

Awful experience with mobile tyre fitting. Only fitted one of the two tyres I paid for. Came 30 minutes before my time slot and all he kept saying was how much of a rush he was in and that he didn’t have the right tools with him. Customer service number absolutely useless! Will never use again .

Bad experience at Farnham Common…

Dreadful experience at Farnham Common Auto-centre today. Was asked to move car by reception which was fair enough, but then barked at by technician after returning for not parking the way he thought best (and for parking where reception indicated!) Mentioned about my booking and leaving car where it could be taken and was curtly informed booking times are indicative. Reception asked for keys and wasn’t able to explain how the process worked so I asked about how long it’s expected to take and was told 2-3 hours with nothing about giving call after analysis etc. When I mentioned the experience wasn’t very good I got a shrug of shoulders, so decided to take car elsewhere.

Went to Selly Oak

Went to Selly Oak, to get dash cams fitted, no Saturdays available every1 wants those days, anytime during the week fine (that is understandable). Advised I could book in online, turns out you can only do that when buying the dash cam. Back to the store had a few days available during the week. No sorry no tech in those days. Okay so what days do you have techs in, sorry that changes weekly and we do not know 😅. So how am to arrange this? 1st time bad information giving, 2nd time absolutely not helpful.

Wonderful Lincoln Team

I’ve been using Halfords at Lincoln for a few years now and every time I go in, I’m always welcomed by friendly and helpful staff in both motoring and cycling. A special thanks to the motoring team who managed to source a replacement tow ball clamp for my cycle carrier, which wasn’t a store item and a massive well done to the cycling team who have fixed all running problems with my family’s bikes with speed, professionalism and friendliness. I will remain a loyal customer because of the team there 👍

I will definitely be using the Halfords website again!

The product I ordered on click and collect was ready super quick and within the designated time frame. When I went into store, the located my order swiftly and service was great! Staff are super friendly and helpful, including offering if any help was needed to take my order to the car - it wasn’t heavy, but it was bulky and a bit difficult to carry it all. I am also so pleased with the price! I ordered floor mats, as I wanted something to go under the swimming pool in the garden, to protect it from the patio. The mats can be used for a multitude of things, but they are so much cheaper at Halfords than other places! Plus they had an offer going on, so I got 12 large mats for £18, absolute bargain! I will definitely be using Halfords website again in the future ☺️

On Saturday 28/06/2025 at 6.03am I…

On Saturday 28/06/2025 at 6.03am I ordered a product to pick up click & collect at Doncaster North Bridge Halfords using Klarna. It's now Saturday 05/07/2025 I've enquired twice via customer service email providing all relevant information, no reply.. Since yesterday the pending payment is no longer on my bank statement, but it's still showing as pending on my Klarna app. Never had such none existent customer service in my life. The ours I work make it difficult to get in store but I will have to go in store to cancel the order because I don't want to be charged for something not received.
