Review summary
Friendly Rentals receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
I have rented in FriendlyHousing for 2 years now. They never solved issues I had with my room or the house. The landlords are really mean and rude. They even threatened to throw my things away once even though I did nothing wrong. If I had some issue in the house, the landlord and the agency tried to get away with it by not replying and let me wait for more then a month, but then when I did something they immediately complain and threaten. And my issues of course were never solved. I tried to rent a new house, and of course, since I live in Eindhoven I apply for approx. 10 properties in Friendly Housing. I subscribed to their excellent profile but they don't even give me a viewing because they said "there are too many candidates".
Awful! We have booked a trip in 2020 but could not come cos of all borders were closed.. Friendly rental just took the deposition and promised me that we can use it late. Now when i wanted to use the voucher i got the answer that it is expired… So we lost the money and it was no trip…
Appart bien situé à quelques minutes de la Sagrada Familia et d’un petit supermarché (Consum).Il y a des petits points d’amélioration comme un manuel pour mettre en route le four et des essuies cuisine.
The apartment was satisfactory, even though it had an odour of dampness that never went away. It was the Dali IV, in Barcelona.
On our second day there, while me and my friend were out of the flat, someone came in with a KEY, took money from both our bags, put all wallets they touched back in their respective backs, zipped them closed and locked the door back behind them. We didn't realise the theft until the next day, when both our amounts of money were missing, while my ipad and my ray-bans were still where I'd left them. We called friendly rentals and they hang up the phone on me, "because I was upset". I called back and they assured my it was not one of their staff. No matter what happened, I knew I was in a bad position, as I couldn't prove that our money was tehre before and now it was gone.
The staff at friendly rentals told me they would send out a locksmith to change the lock. They did and the guy who came assured us that it couldn't had been an "old tenant" of the flat, as an old tenant wouldn't have been able to make a duplicate of the key (they would need the special card that is held by friendly rentals). He installed a worse lock than the one before and left.
We went to the police to report the robbery and the translator had a 10-hour waiting line in front of him. He politely asked us to bring a spanish-speaking person to help us complete the report; we called friendly rentals and they refused to send someone out. In the end, after going to the poliec every day and not being able to complete the report, we decided to not let them waste any more of our time and tried to have a good time anyway, carrying everything that we owned -that was of any value- with us from then on.
Since coming back, even though they assured me the deposit money would be refunded into my account within 7 working days, this hasn't happened. I've spoken to them more than 4-5 times and, each time, I get intimidation and rudeness, giving me different stories as to what is happening with this "preauthorisation", telling me it's "my bank's fault", that I should "ask my bank to release the money" and more stories like that. The fact remains: they have charged me for the damage deposit money (200 euro) and they have not refunded it.
It goes without saying, we left the apartment in mint condition, as we'd found it.
They are, by far, the worst company I've ever had the bad luck of having to deal with.
They only place positive reviews. I had negative experience with deposit by creditcard
I wrote a negative review about the way my deposit was wrongfully withheld.
Friendly Rentals blindly follows the story of the owner.
My advice: NEVER give a deposit by credit card.
The apartment I stayed in was fine, well equiped, nice place et cetera. However, Friendly Rentals put out my review, probably because there is also the story of the wrongfully withheld deposit.
So do not be naive and do not go on the reviews on the Friendly Rentals site.
Friendly Rentals has done a great job finding a good photograph.
He or she has done a really good job catching the best angles of the apartment
which were in real life not even close to what was promised on the pictures.
Unluckily I have not noticed that my apartment did not have Wifi Internet and tried
to change apartments. I hoped that they at least offered the possibility to change for
a little extra money, but no, I would have had to pay my whole week and the other apartment too. This was unacceptable for me under the circumstance, that I had to do a lot of research and work which required internet, associated with my
career.
The service inside the office was unfriendly and did not really make an effort to help me out. I am not going to name the Location of the office, I will never consider
Friendly Rentals again.
Friendlyrentals.com is cheating travellers as you don't get what you book
Friendlyrentals.com is attracting travelleres with superior appartments displayed in their websited and finally renting out a place of minor value.
They manage a whole floor of appartments in Goodoy Cruz & Paraguay in Palero, Buenos Aires. On their website, they advertise the Ringo III Appartment, representing the biggest and nicest one in the building. I especially confirmed facilities like a large balcony across the entire appartment with the local team prior to booking. However, one signed the contract, we were shown an appartment of minor value: smaller in size with a tiny balcony only accessible from one room.
The representative admitted that the nice appartment on the internet is not available although this was confirmed prior to booking. We did not accept this practice and are now fighting for the deposit paid for this imposture.
Furthermore, it is to mention that friendlyrentals.com generally work with cash payments. On their website, it said that under certain circumstances, credit card payment are accepted at a charge of 3% - however they asked 15% from us!
I would happily recommend this company to my enemies and people who don't like money.
This is quite simply the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to do business with. I have lost sums of money which I have no expectation of recovering. They seem to be the short-term, holiday version of the archetypal unscrupulous landlord. They have refused to return money I paid to them citing their "terms and conditions". I don't remember reading the paragraph citing "we can take money from you and give you nothing in return" but perhaps it was lost in translation. Don't let the nice photographs fool you, to them you are a cash-cow, not a customer.
