This is a good bank

This is a good bank. I am engineer which move from Vietnam to US. It is difficult for me to get an credit card even i have good income But First Tech approve for me an credit card with 10k limit => it help me a lot: build credit score, buy anything, bonus money, cashback... The Weird thing is online support better than local bank support. I used to go to the bank to ask them support me to get new credit card(I replied "Y" when system message ask me about Fraud transaction -> it blocked my card) -> they told me system will automatic send you new card => after 3weeks, I didn't get new card. After that , I booked appointment with Manuel Perez - Sales Specialist=> he help me order new card in 5 mins. Thanks Manuel Perez, I always book appointment to get support from him. It is easy to talk and give useful information.

Shane was SO helpful

Shane was SO helpful. I'm easily frustrated with technology and he assisted me in setting up a savings account and a CD. He was courteous and professional and efficient. Highly recommend working with him!

One word, Elese. She is the only reason I didn’t just walk away from First Tech. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue since 2020 and she’s the only one that cared enough to see it through.

Excellent Customer Service

I had an issue with an expired debit card while I was abroad, and was able to get a digital card issued/up and running. Michelle Rice was not only fast and helpful, but the interaction was genuinely pleasant - a rarity in customer service calls these days. Michelle’s cheery attitude and genuine care made me feel taken care of and set up for success. This is the reason to stay with small banks! Thanks, Michelle :)

My hold time was minimal

My hold time was minimal. I spoke to a real person who listened to my 3 issues and was very patient while I did some online while on the call. All 3 issues were addressed and fixed on a single call.

Disappointed with debit card situation

We have been members of First Tech for years. The situation I had Sept 9 and 10 was less than ideal which was surprising. Our debit card has a daily limit, We needed an addl amount on Sept 9, 2:00 p.m. to cover a surgical fee. Was told it would be available in 10 min and would be available for 24 hours at which time our debit card would go back to the original limit. The transaction was made immediately. and approved. The evening of the 9th, I used my card for a purchase at Walmart, under $100 card was declined. On the 10th when my card was supposedly available to use again was declined once again. When I called First Tech. their response was the authorized amount the prior day was posted on the 10th which is why my card was declined again. I was not told it needed to post so my card was unusable. Plus, I don't watch when transactions post or if I needed to know this important fact, should have been told and when I could use my card again and not be embarrassed by it being declined. I was out on hold 4 times with "I will get back to you in 2 min" (18 because I watched the clock and finally hung up and called again.) Got the same representative who apologized for the long wait and would be back to me in 2 min (12 actually) THEN said it was in the finishing stages of approval and would I hold for 5 min to which I replied, I had held far too many times and to just please take care of the transaction and hung up I still don't know if my card will be good to use Sept 11, I will have to use it to find out. This entire experience has been very frustrating.

Superior Customer Service Rep

We recently transferred our checking and savings accounts from a credit union in Denver to First Tech Federal Credit Union. While opening our new accounts online, we encountered some challenges we couldn’t resolve on our own. Fortunately, we reached customer service and were connected with Shelley Walden. Shelley guided us through the process with exceptional skill, helping us navigate some complex issues. Thanks to her knowledge, patience, and dedication, we are now proud First Tech members. She went above and beyond our expectations and deserves recognition for her outstanding service.
