Disappointed with debit card situation
We have been members of First Tech for years. The situation I had Sept 9 and 10 was less than ideal which was surprising. Our debit card has a daily limit, We needed an addl amount on Sept 9, 2:00 p.m. to cover a surgical fee. Was told it would be available in 10 min and would be available for 24 hours at which time our debit card would go back to the original limit. The transaction was made immediately. and approved. The evening of the 9th, I used my card for a purchase at Walmart, under $100 card was declined. On the 10th when my card was supposedly available to use again was declined once again. When I called First Tech. their response was the authorized amount the prior day was posted on the 10th which is why my card was declined again. I was not told it needed to post so my card was unusable. Plus, I don't watch when transactions post or if I needed to know this important fact, should have been told and when I could use my card again and not be embarrassed by it being declined. I was out on hold 4 times with "I will get back to you in 2 min" (18 because I watched the clock and finally hung up and called again.) Got the same representative who apologized for the long wait and would be back to me in 2 min (12 actually) THEN said it was in the finishing stages of approval and would I hold for 5 min to which I replied, I had held far too many times and to just please take care of the transaction and hung up I still don't know if my card will be good to use Sept 11, I will have to use it to find out. This entire experience has been very frustrating.
