EWT system contaminated my water supplybought a water filter system in 2015…

We bought a water filter system in 2015 from EWT. In the last two months we have had problems with our dishwasher water inlet filters becoming blocked with a resin paste. Quite worrying because this is the same water as coming out of our taps to use. I couldn't work out where it was coming from. It turns out this resin paste was in fact resin balls leaking from EWT's water softener system. We had the system annually serviced by EWT so not happy that we have been using water contaminated with these resin balls. I have been asking EWT for a service for a number of weeks and still awaiting a response. I tried to remove the softener system from our water supply to find out that no isolation taps were fitted when it was installed.

Not Recommended

Not Recommended – EWT is no longer what it used to be My last review of EWT was positive – I wrote it about 8 years ago when many of my neighbours were installing water softeners from this company. The first few years of use were absolutely fine. We were told that an annual service would keep our lifetime guarantee active. Although the service price increased year after year, it still felt like a good deal. Two years ago, I had my first issue with the filter. A technician came out and repaired it without any problem or charge. Unfortunately, in January of this year, the filter started leaking those small resin beads into the system again. This time, I was told the warranty only covers labour, not parts, so I had to pay for the repair. At the same time, several of my neighbours also began to complain about EWT’s customer service. I learned that the company had changed ownership – and ever since, it seems like they only care about making money rather than honouring their original commitments. It’s a real shame that such a good company with excellent service in the past has gone downhill like this. Never again.

Very disappointing customer service

Very disappointing customer service. I was instructed to contact them via the email address provided, which I did. However, it has been 48 hours, and I’ve received no response whatsoever. This level of service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company.

Matthew....an excellent service engineer.

Matthew, (service engineer) serviced our unit in March 2025. We have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending him. His courteous manner in answering our relevant queries was excellent. A very satisfied customer ....will definitely ask him to service our unit again.

Did some research and paid Β£1

Did some research and paid Β£1, to start the booking process however I had to delay installation due to a family bereavement, when I made contact again the service was prompt, the engineers installed and explained everything to me, I can honestly say I am now limescale free and have drinking water on tap, no more carrying heavy bottles home from the shops. Would highly recommend

Bullying unprofessional set up

Firstly I emailed to say I don't get paid till the 6th. They sent an engineer before and I explained that I couldn't pay till then. So he went. I booked another appt stated I couldn't do until the 6th. The engineer came again. I got him to install. Then was awkwardly asked for payment again. I explained the 6th. So he went off. Then I recieve a string of calls from all sorts of numbers... Ewt and mobiles and an illiterate, bullying unprofessional threat email I can only assume it was from the engineer! Telling me to "Borough" money from friends, threatening me with debt collectors. It was all very odd.

I am based in a area which suffers from very bad Limescale. We decided to Research EWT water and β€œWOW” I’m so glad I did. Installation was seamless and efficient. We are just over 2 months using EWT and omg the results are unreal pretty much instantly did we see the results. Only regret was I didn’t order sooner.

Zero fuss, complete reassurance.

I just moved into a brand new home and had the joyous task of getting everything hooked up, installed, configured, and set. Never having dealt with hard water before, I didn't prioritise it. Boy, was that a mistake. EWT was recommended by the builder, and I'm delighted that I asked. The technician that came out was 100% upfront, honest, and there was no messing around. The chap was also very genuine to talk to. I also got a load of credit on my account, so my next year of salt is free. Happy out!

I have installed it 2 months ago.

I have installed it 2 months ago.. Amazing product and service. Water is very soft now and I don't see any limescale layers from the water anywhere as before. Before was madness. Limescale was damaging dishwasher, broke down washing machine, expresso machine and much more... I had to clean up cattle with vinegar 2x per month due so thick layer of limescale . I would recommend for everyone but especially for people living in CO Meath. The weather is crazy here. Worst in Ireland. Full of limescale.
