Dont trust what you read

This is to warn others who maybe are thinking of taking a course with this company. Please do not rely on what you read, I paid nearly £400 on a Maths GCSE course, only to find there wasnt an exam centre within a reasonable distance - yet I was willing to travel 45 minutes from home. These people really dont care, once they have your money - they wont do much to help you. There is a map on their website but it isnt accurate, I tried 14 centres - some were on the map, some local and some on a AQA centre and couldnt find one. If you want to do a Maths GCSE - Do the equivalent and take a Maths Functional Course, quite often other companies do them for free. If I had of known about them previously, I wouldnt of wasted my time and money on this centre. I'm not saying you are going to get this with all courses with them but I certainly wont be using them again. All they want to do is point blame and twist what you say. Customer Service at your worst. In response to the training centre - it isnt quite what they said happened. Yes they did offer a deferral but at a centre that I couldnt get too as it was in the middle of a city along from the A3 in Southampton, it just wasnt possible as would take a lot longer due to rush hour. But why is it they are the only centre?!! They just arent to be trusted or if you do go with them, make sure you look at the centres beforehand, unfortunately I took their information to be correct. I was going to take this company to court and got as far as mediation as I feel I'm in the right but couldnt risk any costs that could go against me. Yes my experience was earlier in the year but it's taken all this time to try and sort it out. Customer Service isnt very good and from my experience, they are an awful company where you can do a Maths equivalent for free both course and exam under the functional skills course with the WEA and some other centres. The only reason I declined the offer of a free functional skills course with them is because they charge for the exam whereas other centres dont, yet they havent mentioned that there is an exam cost to this reply! They havent told the truth either going by their response. Me advice would be to stay clear and to go with another centre who actually cares about their students and wants to help them, not to just take their money.

Brilliant

Halfway through my course with them and have got v high exam results so far. Slides are great for learning, tutors give detailed feedback and are great to deal with! Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Studying with Distance Learning Centre

I studied the Advanced Python Programming course and it was lovely. The learning materials were really good, and there were working examples to go with every lesson. The support had really fast response and help for any issues as well. I would recommend this for anyone looking to extend their knowledge. :)

18 year old had great success with IT Essentials Course.

My son is homeschooled and used this course (IT Essentials) as a requirement for his ICCE certificate. The 'distancelearning' team are very helpful and my 18 year old son was able to complete this course unaided as the instructions were very clear. The feedback notes by Dave his course tutor were very encouraging and the experience has been both positive and worthwhile. Thank you!

I passed my Level 3 Supporting teaching…

I passed my Level 3 Supporting teaching and learning in school 4 weeks back and I have recieved my Certificate already, I’m so glad that I chose Learn direct Distant learning centre for my course. I was really worried before I started as this was my first qualification I was going to get in uk. The lady I spoke to over the phone to ask about all the info and process was so helpfull that I ordered my course straightaway. Course meterial arrived very quickly. Everything I needed for this course was provided. My tutor/ assesser were brilliant. I always had a quick reaponse to my queries. I never had to wait for weeks and weeks for the feedback for my assessments. Which was really motivational. I’m sure I WILL COME BACK FOR ANOTHER COURSE WITH DISTANT LEARNING SOON. I Would like to say a messive Thanks to everyone who has helped me!!

The course materials were great and instructions were extremely clear, really informative course and thoroughly enjoyable. Really easy to contact student support if needed and wouldn’t hesitate to undertake another course.

Would give more stars if they provided…

Would give more stars if they provided better learning material. I studied IGSCE English with them, my tutor was good but the leaning material was okaish plus I contacted my tutor in December about my last assignment. It's the end of February and I didn't get a chance to talk with her. To be honest, I considered giving 2 stars for the price of the course. I wanted to study Maths, Physics, Computer Science and Chemistry and then take it to A-Levels but I'd rather choose a different learning centre. I really liked my tutor but in order to pass IGCSE I need a little more than the service they provide.

IT Essentials 2 Review

I have just completed the course and I am so happy that I enrolled in that particular course. The course content was relevant and what I needed. I am so grateful to the Distance Learning Centre team for the support rendered to me during the time I was doing the course and after finishing the course. I like the way they (Distance Learning Centre) developed and managed the course and their quick feedback/response whenever I needed their assistance. Big up!!

I passed and my certificate is on the way...

I recently passed the course Support work in schools Level 2. Once I applied the course notes were posted out promptly. I followed their instructions and the flow of the course and found the feedback on each assignment I submitted very helpful to gain the pass I wanted. It has been approved by the governing body and my certificate is in the post. I have started Teaching assistant Level 2 and have passed the first assignment, again the process is fantastic.

Distance Learning Centre Python Course Review

Very impressed with Distance Learning Centre, was looking for a computing/IT course to do in my spare time while studying for my A-Levels at home to help improve my chances of getting into university or to start my career in this field. Was a little worried at first as I have never heard of this place before and it was difficult to find with a small website, but their courses were also on the wider known Open Study College website so I decided to give them a go and I'm glad I did and I never regretted going with Distance Learning Centre. My digital course was nicely laid out, easy to read and understand, you just log in on their study portal website and select the course you purchased and work through the slides with the odd exercise here and there with an assignment at the end of each lesson or unit (I had 10 in total). The tutor support was brilliant, always got back to me within 40 minutes and was always polite and helpful. The only negative thing I can think of is that they wanted me to submit all of my work at the end of the course rather than after each lesson or unit, I found that a bit strange as I thought the latter would be better as you would have an idea of how you are progressing, otherwise you could be doing something wrong throughout the entire course, I started to send my work in after each lesson but they wanted me to send it all in at the end, luckily I didn't have any problems with my work which goes to show that the courses are well written. So to summarise I'm glad that I went with Distance Learning Centre in the end, they offer a lot of well written courses that are easy to read and understand with fast, excellent, polite and helpful tutor support with easy to use services. The website has just been updated which looks great and is much better than when I started my course and I would definitely consider doing a 2nd course with them, more people need to know about this place as it is a great company! (I have written this review 3 weeks after completing my course and have already received Distance Learning Centre's certificate and feedback through the post, hopefully I will receive the Open Award qualification soon which will help me in my future studies).

Webmaster - HTML&CSS

I have had the most amazing experience with the distance learning centre. I have learned so much from the learning resources and my support from my tutor. My experience has been so rewarding that I am enrolled into two other courses and can’t wait to get started. Thank you

Joanna Counselling & Psycotherapy Level 4

I really enjoyed studying this course and it was extremely interesting, informative, realistic to mental health and also at times hard because there was much that I could relate to. I learnt a lot and enjoyed doing all the extra research which I know helped me too! The tutors always gave me extremely positive, encouraging and constructive feedback too! There was a tiny problem with some of the printing on some of the work book but this was replaced straight away. Very apologetic and professionally done too! From start to finish it was very well organised. Because of bad experience with a previous provider while facing bereavement of a close family member and other personal difficulties at the time, I was extremely wary of ever using an online college again, and previous experiences of being let down in education or even studying. After numerous phone calls to the owner of this college I felt so confident, reassured and relaxed to carry on. It was the best choice that I ever made!! I can't praise the student support team enough. They honestly were like the teachers that every child could wish for, which is exactly what is a major cause of many adults not having confidence to study, or in fact believe in themselves. They were always caring and encouraging and polite and helpful! In fact the confidence and knowledge that I gained from the course and knowing they are there, also how interesting all the other courses looked, I decided to buy the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 4 course too! The only issue that I had which was explained to me was because the word Diploma was not used, I worried about employment and university in the future opportunity. I have been praised by many for gaining a Level 4 certificate by many, so I'm very happy with that. I would and have definitely recommended Distance Learning Centre to others and already have my eyes on more courses for the future. So happy I took the plunge!

I just completed the HTML/CSS course…

I just completed the HTML/CSS course and I must admit I found it really well presented, with clear information and helpful examples, exercises and assignments. Furthermore, the email support was excellent - always on stand-by, providing quick and clear answers to all the questions I had. Prior to starting the course, all the process went smooth, so I never felt that something was unclear or missing. Highly recommended service.

Amazing and quick service once I had…

Amazing and quick service once I had ordered my course! Any questions or queries dealt with in a shift and professional manner! The course itself was detailed and layout out amazingly, with ample materials and encouragement to seek your own research. Assessment of all my units was shift and an extremely easy process (all done via email). I would highly recommend distance learning centre for anyone looking at any of their courses!
