AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS! Take into consideration all negative reviews and don’t overlook it like I did!!! Before purchasing I called them to double check everything and was mislead over the phone, which made me go for the worse option. I misunderstood the fine prints because they were not clearly written, and are also misleading. Not to mention the spelling mistakes over the emails exchanged. I purchased learner insurance for a set amount of months, passed my driving test before the policy ended and they are refusing to refund the money for the months I will not use the learner insurance (which I have no option but to cancel). I’ve lost £160. They are claiming I never spoke to one of their agents which is a lie. Why would I have bought a policy over others without having spoken to anyone? Do not recommend them in the slightest! Go for reputable insurance companies instead, cheap becomes costly and it’s not worth it! Regardless of policy you go for its clear that you will be at loss!

Beware their sneaky £40 cancellation !

£40 cancellation fee with 3 weeks left on a policy that was paid in full. Really ? Clearly an underhand & easy way to make £40 out of a teenager, shame on you. Don't bother with your defaut response, you know exactly what you're doing, hiding this term deep in the T&C's & yet there's no note of it on your website. Surely it'd make sense just to add it to the premium at the start & avoid the bad customer service ? Poor show Collingwood, poor show 👎🏽

Ridiculous fee for passing your test! AVOID

My son passed with two months of policy left to run. Did the correct thing and notified Collingwood Insurance Services UK Ltd..£40 cancellation fee!! It would have been more if he'd passed sooner too. Apparently they do cover themselves and this fee is listed on page 2 of the small print. Customer services very unhelpful and I will not be using again for my daughter next month. What initially seems the best price is not necessarily so.

Unscrupulous actions from Collingwood Insurance- Avoid..Avoid!

Just want to add to the large number of customers who have had the same issues. Additional £40 charge to cancel a policy that was already void as learner had passed test. AVOID this company! Come on trust pilot it is clear they are praying upon unsuspecting customers so why are they advertising 4.5 star trustpilot rating on their website?

Unable to make a payment due to…

Unable to make a payment due to personal circumstances, gave me until 4pm that day to make payment else insurance would be cancelled and gave no chance to extend this or any help during a cost of living crisis, luckily I don't need my car for employment etc or I would be in a worse situation but for anybody else this could have affected them much more, also charging a cancellation fee of 4x the missed payment is a bit of kick in the face too No support, safeguarding etc, don't care about customers - Wouldn't recommend to anybody

This Company takes advantage of young…

This Company takes advantage of young people and their parents - their automatic license detection conveniently (for them) waits until the end of the policy before auto cancelling even though my son passed his test 5 months beforehand. Then they have the nerve to charge a £40 cancellation fee and hounded my son to pay it - threatening legal action and poor credit rating. Avoid!! UPDATE:- I received a letter confirming my complaint had been rejected - hiding behind T&C we had agreed to but ignoring the substance of the complaint i.e. if you have a license detection capability then why wait to auto cancel the policy right before renewal - thereby denying us any policy refund but then also adding on a cancellation fee. It seems unfair, especially for teenagers.
