AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS! Take into consideration all negative reviews and don’t overlook it like I did!!! Before purchasing I called them to double check everything and was mislead over the phone, which made me go for the worse option. I misunderstood the fine prints because they were not clearly written, and are also misleading. Not to mention the spelling mistakes over the emails exchanged. I purchased learner insurance for a set amount of months, passed my driving test before the policy ended and they are refusing to refund the money for the months I will not use the learner insurance (which I have no option but to cancel). I’ve lost £160. They are claiming I never spoke to one of their agents which is a lie. Why would I have bought a policy over others without having spoken to anyone? Do not recommend them in the slightest! Go for reputable insurance companies instead, cheap becomes costly and it’s not worth it! Regardless of policy you go for its clear that you will be at loss!

After verbally telling me there were no cancellation fees they cancelled my daughters insurance and sent me a bill for £35 even though id paid a year up front. I'll take this to the ombudsman, and guarantee Collingwood will lose more than £35 in bad press and social media. Crooked way to run a business UPDATE : Collingwood Crooks have refused to waiver the £35 Charge , gave a standard response and have threatened me with further action if not paid within 60 Days . This will be going to the Ombudsman for consideration . I will guarantee that this will cost these Crooks way more than the £35 that they're trying to STEAL from me .
Scandalous, paid £237 for learner car insurance for my daughter to start from 25th September 2022, she passed her test 15 February 2023, and I got refunded £2.60. I wish I had read the reviews and read the small print. It's disgusting what they charge, don't know how they're getting away with. Just steer clear from this insurance company, a complete rip off. Wish I could give zero stars. Please who energies reading this don't go with this company

My own fault for not reading the cancellation information before taking this policy out but wow what a rip off!! Please check the small print before taking out a learner policy. Unless you intend to insure for the year (probably not needed while you are learning and will hopefully have a test and pass within this time) you will pretty much not get any money back!! These cancellation charges should be illegal in my opinion. Avoid this company!!
Just want to echo other reviews regarding the cancellation fee of £40 It should be included in the premium as there is no way to not pay it It’s not about the money but the underhand way in which it’s charged I intend to raise the matter with the Financial Ombudsman Service which is a free and impartial body and urge other people in the same position to do the same
Absolutely scandalous cancellation fee of £40 when your child passes their test, should be due a refund as covers stopped 3mths early but they charge you £40 to cancel your policy. Even if you don't cancel if your child passes, they will charge you £40 at the end of the year.
Absolutely robbing young people. Cancelled policy which had been paid in full.policy still had 4 months to run. The company claimed that they get to retain 90% and then had the audacity to charge an extra £20 cancellation fee. Reporting to trading standards and also the financial ombudsman. The terms are not set out clearly.

Very unfair cancellation charges!! The 12 month policy was £238 and the cancelation charge was £195.59 - However the policy was only live for 24 DAYS!! This is not made clear when taking out the policy. Read the small print is my advise....
