2nd year tutor has been incredible

Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. Thank you so much to the staff behind the scenes and placements team too for always being ready to answer queries and help where they can.

Chrysalis/tutor

I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis

Great experience!

I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

Just finishing my year 2 level 4 and the supporting team are very efficient at helping where needed . They responded very quickly to sort out an issue with moodle especially Lauren @ south student support - Thankyou

I've got a lot from this course and…

I've got a lot from this course and overall I think it's very well managed and executed. I think tutors could be more informed by Chrysalis in order to relay information to students, instead of always having to contact the office. During the Pandemic it was good we were able to continue our studies via zoom. However, I do feel some reimbursement from the initial costs paid could be refunded due to having to proceed online and not getting the full classroom face to face experience. Overall, I would recommend this course.

It is very difficult to get a placement…

It is very difficult to get a placement in Northern Ireland and there is no assistance from Chrysalis on this crucial aspect of the course. I am a third year student on the Professional Diploma Course and I applied for my placement in August 2020 when everything was shut down due to the pandemic. I finally got an online clinically supervised placement with a company in Suffolk delivering counselling via zoom - I am in Belfast. Now with 65 hours practice - I am told that Chrysalis will demand that I also have face to face clinical hours but cannot yet tell me what proportion of the 100 hours must be face to face. I find myself looking for a second placement now to get my hours - without knowing how many I am likely to need. It feels like the goalposts have been moved very late in the game. Since module delivery went on line it has been very challenging for students as the learning experience is not what we expected or could have anticipated when enrolling. Chrysalis could make a gesture of recompense to students by refunding some of the course fee OR by even providing lunch/refreshments for the in person sessions which are now back on - albeit in a local hotel. It has been difficult to get telephone contact with anyone in Chrysalis too throughout the pandemic and since, but the staff I have interacted with have been friendly and helpful.

In my opinion chrysalis is a great organisation to study with as they take into account how much students want to learn and support them in their journey to achieve their qualifications to the high standard and I would recommend them to future students

I wanted to write a review about Sophia Kingston from North Student Support. She was so helpful when I had a million questions and things to resolve this week. She responded immediately and offered support and advice whilst sorting the issues that I had promptly. I thought that she definitely deserved some feedback as she was brilliant! Thanks again Sophia! First session confirmed I made the right choice

I joined Chrysalis a few months ago and have been super impressed with the administration and student support despite contacting them repeatedly about things I kept forgetting. they have been patient and always helpful. I had my first session in Liverpool with my tutor Fiona Wilkie last week and it was amazing. The whole day flowed beautifully, Fiona put us all right at ease, we packed so much in, and yet it was all delivered efficiently, with great consideration and compassion. I feel that I am in good hands and that I can do this. I have had doubts because of my personal challenges but having experienced the first session, I know I can do this and feel very excited. The support is amazing and this really does make a huge difference. I changed providers having done my level 2 and part of level 3 elsewhere so I am delighted to feel confident that I made the right decision.
